Worst dining experience this evening. Service was incredibly slow. We were a table of 4 and it seemed like every other table was more important. A 2 top came in 45 mins after us and got served their dinners before us. Three of our four meals were served and then ten minutes later the fourth was served. We showed up about an hour before our brunch reservation and they seated us immediately. The hostess was very nice about it. Capriccio is a gorgeous restaurant and if you're lucky (we were not), you might get a seat with a view. Still, the restaurant was stunning. The food here was excellent. I'm not usually a fan of buffets. Or brunch, to be honest, but let's keep that between us. Capriccio allowed me to have brunch without having brunch. Although they had typical brunch food, like waffles and an egg station, the wide assortment of seafood truly caught my eye. Shrimp, oysters, you name it! I truly overdid it with the oysters, but they were incredibly fresh. So was the horseradish. And the cocktail sauce. I also enjoyed the cooked seafood dish with shrimp, mussels, and clams in a tangy sauce. To go with the theme, I also tried several salads featuring octopus and other seafood. There was no stopping me now. Every single dish was amazing. Except, I cheated on the seafood with some juicy lamb chops. And that's when my seafood journey at Capriccio officially ended. But, instead of heading for more meat or even dessert, I decided to give brunch a try. Stuffed french toast. Not cloyingly sweet. Soft. Just perfect. The right way to end a fantastic meal. Now, everything sounds soooo good (right?), so why only 4 stars? Unfortunately, the unlimited mimosas weren't quite so unlimited. After my first mimosa, my glass was empty throughout most of the meal. Once I asked for more, they happily brought some over. Once empty, they asked if we wanted more. This is one of the nicest boozy brunches I've been to. To top it off, it's located right on the boardwalk. I love the decor and the service. They never let my drink get empty. The staff was amazing and I would definitely come back. Amazing view if you get a table by the windows. Food varies but had a really good selection of breakfast and lunch. Seafood bar that had crab, shrimp, oysters and clams. Definitely recommend to make a reservation. Luckily I had one but they got backed up because of some large parties. This restaurant has an OpenTable reservation option and when I reserved it there were numerous open sections all the way until 10pm, which is their official closing time. We were running late so called up the resort where the restaurant is located and requested to push back the reservation until 8:30pm. No problem, especially since the operator also saw that the place is opened until 10pm. We were on our way to the restaurant and a few minutes late (~3min), when the maitre'd called to say that they were no longer holding our table since they were closed at 8pm. When we arrived (one minute after the call for a total of ~4min late), the maitre'd showed us to our table. We scarfed down our dinner because I felt that we were not welcome, even though the restaurant was supposed to be open until 10pm. We finished our dinner in less than 40min. On our way out the maitre'd says that he notified OpenTable and apparently the resort operators of the early closing. Why the early closing? ... Because business was slow. I understand business being slow, but if you advertise to be open until a certain time, then it is poor business management to close early, in my honest opinion. As for the rest of the experience.... The ambiance was wonderful. Very old school Boardwalk Empire. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We walked away feeling we'd been robbed--big time. Just my meal: The "Special" : Short Rib Braciole. I was served unseasoned fatty short ribs over a bed of extra wide, extra long, sticky pasta noodles. There was no flavor. I'm not exaggerating. There was zero tomato component to the "sauce" that tasted exactly like bland jarred chicken gravy. Whoever concocted the sauce never bothered to include any tomatoes garlic, onions, herbs, pepper flakes, or anything else that might have tasted of Italian culinary finesse. This "Special" cost $64.95. I want to forget this experience. I write this only because I feel compelled to share, as a public service. The other night I went to their happy hour at the Cielo Wine Bar part of the restaurant to have a quick bite and a better glass of wine before hitting the casino. What a hidden gem! You wouldn't know about the place because it's sort of hidden away on the second floor of Resorts Casino, and Margaritaville and Landshark Bar get so much more attention. But Cielo is for the more sophisticated clientele who'd also like a bar and happy hour. They had a list of really high quality apps for only $7 each. I was curious to try their "wine on tap," too, and I have to say that it had a lot more life to it than stagnant wine that has been sitting in a bottle. The bartenders Ray and Patrick were both very helpful. I was able to use comp dollars to pay for most of it because Resorts is actually very generous in earning comps, compared to other casinos. So, if you are looking for a finer happy hour before the casino that is still affordable, try Cielo's. read more

We did have to wait about 15 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation; it was a busy night. But once we were seated everything was great. They brought out bread and olive oil; pretty standard, but still good. I ordered the ravioli with chicken ($25) and my boyfriend got a seafood dish ($45). Both meals were delicious! My only complaint is that for the price, I expected bigger portion sizes. We were both full at the end of the meal, but the portions were still somewhat small compared to other restaurants (usually I have leftovers to take home). The quality was fantastic, though! I make homemade pasta sauce at home, which takes hours to make, and it is "I would like just sauce good"! This was seriously not up to par. In addition, they use fresh pasta, which is great! However, it seems like they don't know how to cook it well. About 1/8th of the past was not enjoyable since it was globs of pasta glued together, which has the consistency and tasted like I was eating gum. Between the food and the service, Capriccios has me hooked. First, Ulysses and Ray behind the bar are fantastic. The friendliest and most helpful bartenders I've ever had, especially at a hotel. I can't say enough good things about those guys. The food menu for happy hour is on point. Great way to try several items affordably. I tried just about everything and it was all fantastic. I especially loved the Alfredo pasta primavera (usually Alfredo is too heavy for me but this one was perfect). The seafood soup was also delicious. A nice bonus was when the casino president and the other executives came down--being given a glass of wine by the man in charge was pretty nice. The food is fantastic, there isn't a bad item on the menu! My husband and I had the chicken cutlet Parmesan with Linguini. It was out of this world! The chicken is so tender and the pasta is always great! They serve THE BEST olive oil with Italian bread! Last time we were there we had the tiramisu for dessert it was divine! This place is Atlantic City's hidden gem and the best restaurant in Atlantic City as far as I'm concerned! Their wait staff is also top notch if your lucky enough to get Gennaro and Jose V, they are so attentive to your every need! I WILL NEVER EAT IN THAT RESTAURANT AGAIN! Yesterday, Easter Sunday. I went to go eat at Breadsticks, but the close at 6:00 , So I went next door to Capriccio. The host asked is I had a reservation and I told them no. Nicely , they accommodated me. I was very hungry and after a while I asked the waitress if they put bread on the table. Pretty much being treated as if I was invisible. I ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs. If you go there, don't order it. I am now waiting and waiting and waiting for the check. I don't know who he is but he came up to me and said he has to check my credit card first before I sign the receipt. I never had this done to me before. He is going to check to see if I have the money first. OMG. Why? Because I am a female Senior , eating alone? Then the ignorant man asked if someone has my credit card. My son ordered spaghetti and meatballs and his spaghetti also was undercooked. The sauce again was horrendous and the meatballs were probably the worst meatballs we've ever eaten. All of us tried them and agreed they were awful. Maybe the staple items like chicken cutlet Parmesan and spaghetti and meatballs are just not their specialty. The lobster ravioli was a surprise, with a generous dollop of lobster salad plopped in the middle of the dish. I have to withhold a star for service. Unfortunately, the servers were spread waaaay too thin -- especially for a restaurant that purports itself to be a high end experience. I've been eating at Capriccio for years. The food is fantastic, but the experience is what makes it unique to Atlantic City. The staff ensures you are well taken care of, being very attentive while not smothering you. Included is a fantastic bread offering at the beginning of every meal, along with a varied wine list. Most recently, we made last minute plans, and they found a table for us during a dinner rush, despite our lacking a reservation. Hub and I and our friends had a lovely experience at Capriccio in Atlantic City over the weekend. We were in town for a show and we were staying at Resorts so it was an easy choice to book a pre-show dinner reservation at Capriccio. Two in our party had wine (merlot), another had a cocktail (Cape Codder) and I ordered sparkling water. We all were quite satisfied with our choices. We started our meal with the specials appetizer which was a variety of seafood (calamari, crab, shrimp, and white fish) and broccoli rabe lightly fried, and paired with a choice of cocktail sauce or remoulade dipping sauce. It was tasty and it went over well with our group. For mains, Hub had chicken parm, our friends had chicken saltimbocca, the monk fish special (with risotto), and I had veal saltimbocca. Everybody expressed satisfaction with their choices. Speaking for my dish, the veal saltimbocca was well-prepared and exceptionally flavorful. I had a taste of the chicken parm and the chicken saltimbocca and both were good, with a nod to the chicken saltimbocca--had I not opted for veal, the chicken would have been an excellent alternative. We finished our meal with coffee and gelato. In all, Capriccio was a delightful experience. Came here for brunch from NYC to see what the hype was about. I would say the hype is valid! There's a bit of a wait, even with reservation, but it's fine. It's Sunday and everyone is enjoying their food so when we went the hostess explained some people took longer than expected. No biggie. Once seated the waiters were sooo welcoming and friendly! We had dinner here for a girls weekend - a group of 10, but had called ahead and reportedly the restaurant was prepared to handle such a group. We had asked if we could bring our own wine (willing to pay a corking fee), but were told that we weren't allowed. Totally fine, except that we ordered both white and rosé upon our arrival and the rosé hadn't been chilled - so half of the table was served, and finished their wine, while the rest of us waiting over 30 minutes to be served. The bottles weren't placed on the table once opened, so I had to continually ask for another glass of wine. A number of us had ordered espresso along at the same time that we ordered the wine, which was completely forgotten about until others ordered espresso after dinner. A lot of this could be forgiven, but the icing was when my sister, who is engaged, was eating dessert, and the waiter said to her, "it's okay for you to eat that, you're taken". After reading quite a few 4 and 5 star reviews, I was so ready to play devils advocate. She asked that the steak to be cooked pink in the middle. She cut her meat and the steak said moo! As she was cutting it the steak said moo! The meat was raw.
