First time here in Capizzi and it was a 5 stars experience I called just few minutes before arrive and the team made room for having me there. the "pizza del Nono" is amazing and the tiramisu makes you feel like in Italy. the staff is amazing, friendly and attentive highly recommended and I dare to come back to try the eggplant pizza read more

Italian customers and Italian waiters, looks legit! The buffalo mozzarella was amazing, nice and salty and creamy. We got it as a part of the caprese salad, which was not as basil-heavy as you might think, but instead made room for some nice oil-pickled red peppers! The montepulciano wine was to die for, and the nero d'avolo delicious as well (but seriously...the montepulciano). Calzone special was awesome, really made something nice out of something as dull as eggplant without taking over the dish! Will be back, with pleasure read more

Capizzi - Finally a moment this joint isn't packed! - Pizza Near Me - New York, New York

This pizza was better the second day. The key is to heat it up in a flat skillet on low heat for 5-10 mins. The bottom will get nice and crispy :) We got 2 pizzas: The Margherita & the Prosciutto with Arugula. The pizza was okay while we dined there. It wasn't exceptionally amazing or noteworthy. That being said, it wasn't bad either--and they gave us a lot of prosciutto. So why the 3 stars? The service was bad--like frustratingly bad. The server looked annoyed and served us with a bit of attitude. We didn't even get our check until I reminded him 10 minutes later. read more

Holy. Christ. This place was on top of it's A game when I went there. The food was amazing. I got the antipasta and i tell you what, I've never been a big fan of those plates but my girlfriend wanted to get it and I about ate 3/4 of the appetizer before our pizza came out. Which they cut for you and serve on your plate?! Everything about this dinner was amazing read more

Lovely restaurant with great pizza! My friend and I both had the Margherita and it was delicious! Our pizzas came out so fast, but it was hot and delicious, and talk about fresh! There were many to choose from, so I'm definitely returning here. It makes it easier to come back since I only live four blocks away from this place. The music was also great. Not loud at all, the ambiance is great (cutely decorated), and the servers are wonderful as well. read more

Nice thin crust pizza made with fresh ingredients. Good sangria and caprese salad. Tried the tiramisu, pannacotta, and cannoli. All good and definitely homemade favors tasted. For the complainers who are whining about "burnt" crust,#1- this is a thin crust pizza that's how it's done. If you don't get the beautiful char marks from the fire, you are eating raw pizza dough. #2- if you dont like the char marks, you sould go elsewhere for thick crust pizza. The prices are a bit on the higher side since dining in is oly individual pies but the ingredients are fresh so give it a try. They are great for pre theater dining. And the music is tops according to my friends. read more

This restaurant is FANTASTIC! It is an authentic Italian eatery, it's quaint, cute and clean. Kid friendly. We walked from Broadway away from many restaurants in search of non chain restaurant. We happened upon Capizzi and were more than satisfied. Salad- delish , Focaccia- OUTSTANDING! We couldn't get enough, loved by my whole family. They make their own olive oil, a delish addition to the focaccia. Fresh brewed iced tea- yum. And lastly pizza- Out of this World! Fresh ingredients. Cooked perfectly. And I'm a New Haven pizza lover, this was the best pizza I had ever had. We had the margarita pizza and pepperoni/mushroom pizza, which is one if my favs and it was on their menu as a specialty pizza! 5+ stars! Thank you Capizzi read more

We literally just arrived in NYC from Birmingham, Alabama and we were starving. We found Capizzi's near our hotel. I had the Arugula Salad and my wife had the Arancini Spanici. It was so delicious, we cancelled our reservations to Chaz Palminteri's this evening and made reservations here instead. Pete helped us and was absolutely awesome. A long conference at the Javitz Center made lunch even more of an exciting prospect! Coworkers from Florida wanted some pizza, of course, so they chose Capizzi to sample some slices! The pizza was great! I wish there was an option to order one large pizza that we could all split but the server said only deliveries can order a large pizza. Still, the personal pizzas were divine. I'm glad I chose to charge it cause while it says "personal-sized" these are big slices! I had two and was full! The crust was delicious, and that's coming from me--a five year old at heart who still usually doesn't eat the crust. The cheese was wonderful and the toppings all chopped big and full of flavor. The service was nice and ambience an authentic touch. read more

This is a cute place with ambiance and nice staff. The trouble is the food just wasn't that great. I ordered the Loaded pizza and the Arugula salad to split with my husband. My pizza was soggy and small. $25 for a 12 inch pizza that I would not really called "loaded". I ordered it without mushrooms but still got the mushrooms. Our waitress said she would bring parm and red pepper but never did. I appreciate that the restaurant makes their food from scratch, however the pizza sauce lacked flavor and depth. We left there and went to a bar afterwards where we ordered something additional to eat because we were actually still a little hungry. The bathroom needs to be updated and maintained. The sink and the toilet are both very old and the sink is very dirty. The floor and toilet had urine on it from a man before who also left the seat up. Pretty gross thing for women who go in next. If you are going to have a single genderless bathroom, it needs to be maintained constantly. I visited a lot of restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc during my stay and this was probably the worst bathroom. read more

Capizzi is a great spot to go and enjoy delicious food and great service. I went there for the first time on Thursday and enjoyed it so much. The atmosphere is inviting and the music was good. I will definitely go there again!! read more

Capizzi is a nice restaurant with a nice selection of pizzas. When I went there on Saturday night they weren't too busy but the service was really slow. It took 20 mins for someone to get us water and another 20 to come and take our order. After waiting another 30 mins for our pizzas to come to the table, they messed up my order and I had to send it back. Then finally 20 mins later they got my pizza to the table. The pizza itself was really nice. The mozzarella on the pizza was excellent. The crust was nice and crispy and it was just perfect. The Panna cotta was out of this world. It was so good we had to get another one for the table. Do not leave without trying the panna cotta. You will thank me later. read more

Capizzi is a nice little restaurant on 9th across from the back side of the Port Authority building. The 1950's style refrigerator, used for holding cold drinks, and TV were very cute. This restaurant had the best music I've ever heard in a restaurant, very eclectic. I went twice tried two different pizzas, the Asparagus Special and the Loaded with peperoni, sausage, onion, and red peppers. Their pizza was quickly cooked in a wood fireplace oven that can be seen in the back of the restaurant. Both pizzas were good but because of all of the ingredients the Loaded one was soggy in the middle. I also had two appetizers, the Caprese was wonderful and the Spinach Rice Balls were good (they ran out the first night). For dessert I tried Pannacotta for the first time, it was like a firmer flan, which I liked. Their Sangria was good too, no extra fruit to make it too fruity. The Server had limited knowledge of their menu but the Manager was by the table many times to follow up. This restaurant was very pleasant. read more

Found them on here, so glad we did. Felt like we walked into a friends house when we went through the front door. Everything was amazing, the pizza, the service and desert. We had a "traveling moose" we were taking pics of all over the city since we are from Fl. I held him up to get a pic with the brick oven behind it and the guy behind the counter took him and made the pic even better!! We will for sure be back here when we come back to NY!!
