Note that this is not a branch offering all bank services -- they're limited on what they can do so based on my own experience if you're looking for banking assistance I highly recommend calling in before to see if they'd be able to assist you with that at the location. From what I gathered, their focus in these Cafes is checking and savings accounts, anything credit card related should be handled by their call center. Loved this cafe! As a capital one employee, when I'm in a city with a cafe i always try to stop in and this one in Boulder was very inviting and well-decorated. They even had little freebie branded coin pouches! I had a latte and it was the perfect treat on a cold day walking down the Pearl street strip. So yummy, with peppermint infusion for the holiday season. Signage in the store prompted me to open a capital one debit card (i didn't have any before!) as they offer lots of rewards to those who open new accounts. HUGE fan of this place!!! As of now, they don't have food (I think this will be changing soon), which has been nice because I can bring my dog inside the cafe and do work all day without worrying about him being stuck at home. They even gave us a little doggie water bowl last time we were here! The cafe has two enclosed work spaces that are first come, first serve, and it has been amazing to sit here and hammer out my thesis everyday. The room minimizes outside noise, which really helps get you in the work zone. If you are a student or a non-profit, you can book the bigger conference room for free for 2hrs/day. It has been great for practicing presentations and working with larger groups. The best part about this whole cafe (besides the 50% off drinks with a Capital One card) is the staff. They are some of the nicest humans and have frequently given out free drink cards just for hanging out. The vibe of this cafe is far from the corporate scene I expected to walk into when I first came to this cafe. I will continue recommending this place to anyone who needs a WFH location or who just wants to chat with lovely humans :) read more

It took me awhile to enter and explore this business as I was deeply saddened by the departure of what resided there before (Boulder Cafe). My tune began to change its beat when I was treated to fresh waffles on my way to attend Pearl Street Band On The Bricks. They had a lovely spread just outside the cafe with the waffle iron running and toppings galore. Did I mention that it was free? While this little store is indeed part cafe, part bank it sure does offer a whole lot to our community. There are frequent and free educational events (there's an upcoming meet and greet with John the President of Boulder Chamber of Commerce!), free Peet's coffee/tea all day Monday and Friday (just bring your own mug during what they call Eco Happy Hour), complimentary umbrellas to borrow (oh, and when you return the umbrella they treat you to a free Peet's coffee. Double score!) and free yummy snacks from time to time. I always look forward to my visits every Monday and Wednesday for Eco Happy Hour. As this is part bank the hard working baristas are not allowed to have a tip jar out on the counter. While perusing Pearl Street Mall, I happen upon this location and was quite pleased with the service. The employees are friendly and polite and will happily fulfill your coffee/tea order with ease. While waiting for your order to be finished there is many different surveys that you can fill out by writing the answer on a Post-it note and sticking it up on a board. I've had countless great experiences with Capital One Cafe as I frequent here about 3-5 times a week for meetings, you can't beat 1/2 off coffee! The lack of physical locations offered by Capital One scared me at first.. what if I needed to talk with a banker? what if I need to withdraw money? Last week I had a nightmare situation, one where $$$ had left my Capital One account but not been received by the recipient bank. When I called the recipient bank, they told me "sorry, we never received the money, you'll need to call Capital One." The recipient bank was EXTREMELY unhelpful and abrasive and by the time I had finished speaking with them, I was furious. I walked down to the Capital One Cafe and Alli (one of the Capital One employees) immediately could tell something was wrong when I walked in. Calmly she listened to me and offered me a complimentary coffee before we got started investigating the issue. She called the 1-800# to investigate the issue and walked me through every step of the process. The gentleman on the other end (also a Capital One employee) was amazing and even got on a 3-way call with me and the recipient bank to solve the issue. He advocated for me and my $$! Both Capital One employees took my situation very seriously and treated it with urgency. After an HOUR on the phone with the recipient bank, we got the issue resolved!* I have NEVER had a better banking experience and any concerns I've had about banking with a remote bank are gone. I think it is silly that the powers that be in Boulder would choose to try to shut down new bank openings in downtown Boulder, based on the opening of this place, which replaced a very mundane cafe in a space that was historically a bank anyway. The banking option is a very small part of what this establishment is. Yes, there is Capital One staff available to facilitate opening and assisting in bank products but they are not overly assertive. As I was meeting a friend for coffee and a chat, they accepted my non-interest graciously. I am sure there are others who could use their services. The coffee is Peet's which I often have in the Bay Area and they have a full selection of espresso drink options, like dozens of coffee shops in Boulder. The baristas were friendly and professional. No complaints about my iced Americano at all. The pastry selection is Boulder local, traditional items from Spruce Confections. I had a chocolate croissant, heated maybe a touch too hot but certainly edible. There is seating indoors and out, and we chose indoors but by wide open window wall, clean and with a nice view of Pearl. There was a lot of space in front near the cafe bar for solo workers, telecommuters etc, with bigger work tables in more quiet space in the back. Plus a nice separated meeting room that can be reserved for groups. Seriously, how modern and comfortable can you get? Clearly, from what I could see, many people found this a perfectly usable space on Pearl. read more

This was my first time at a Capital One Cafe. It was quite interesting to see a banking establishment and a cafe, all-in-one. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are not going to pay for your order with a Capital One card, then it's a little costly. We customers, but don't have a card to use. It's a neat spot though. There is a lot of seating, games and restrooms. They are open 7-days a week and have banking staff to help you with your banking needs. If you need a small conference room, they even have one you can use for free, if it's available. We were not planning on coming here, but because it was so close to where we parked, we were glad to have stumbled upon it. The customer service was okay from the cafe staff, but from the banking staff it was quite superb! They were very informative and willingly answered all my questions. I hope to go to another cafe again soon =) read more

Inside is very spacious. Coffee orders are placed to and served by the same person even on a weekend so expect a bit of a wait. I ordered a regular size iced coffee and it was A-OK. Not a fan of starbucks myself but starbucks iced coffee tastes better than this. The banking is right inside the coffee shop towards back of it. It's a cool concept to bring in but I feel like if they improve the quality of their coffee, they'll get more business than it has (which is very average) OH, THE BATHROOM THO! SO CHIC! read more

Not busy, but the girl who was the ambassador with the job of greeting, making people feel welcome, and offering info about bank services, did none of these. We came in, there was no greeting. Ordered coffee drinks and waited. Still not even eye contact from the ambassador. She was too busy engaged in casual chatting with other employees who worked there to even give my friend and I a glance as we patiently waited for our drinks. I am a Capitol One member. He is not, and is not sure he ever would be after that weird experience. We come here at least twice a month or more for coffee meetings and prior to this day the ambassadors have aways been truly friendly. It had a neighborhood vibe and made us love coming in. Those employees no longer seem to work here. This girl had one job, but nope, she did none of it. Felt like we were intruding on her private gab sessions. read more

I disagree with Capital One's policy to not manually review credit card applications. There is no reason that two professionals with long-standing excellent credit scores should not qualify for the Venture card. Refusing to look at applicants above the computer algorithm to look at how systematic student loans have trapped individuals and prevented them from being able to overcome computer algorithms is unacceptable in this society where student loans are a crushing issue. Everything in the credit bureaus shows in good standing with well above 700 score, the only thing holding back qualification is student loans. Why doesn't Capital One have a human that can discuss a manual review? I do not recommend Capital One and you should not waste having your credit dinged for the hard inquiry when despite what their website says, you will not qualify for a credit card even if you have excellent credit scores and repayment history. read more

I went into the Cafe for the banking portion and like a dummy I left my debit card in one of the ATMs. By no fault of their own, it took the employees a bit of time to retrieve it. Pros: All Capital One Cafes have the Eco Happy Hour the whole day on Mon and Fri, but this one, in addition to the Eco, has the cardholder HH on Mon 9:00/10:00 and 16:00/17:00 -- you get any drink if you have a Capital One card, and not even any need to bring a cup. I wish their other Cafes would have the same deal (the one in Denver, and both in Austin, don't) -- they promote financial literacy and saving through these comic book characters in all of their cafes as of 2018, yet the only benefit you get as a cardholder is 50% off, which simply encourages unnecessary spending, and is effectively not really a benefit at all! So, big thanks for 100% off two hours a week! Cons: They should probably have more outlets, though -- none of the window seating has any -- all the electrical outlets are covered by blank panels. read more

What can I say, this place has it all. Great coffee, great place to study, and phenomenal staff! The ambassadors are very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. My girlfriend and I come here everyday either to study or to just hang out. To me talking about money can be very stressful l, but the ambassadors here make the conversations very relaxed. This place is the best! It seems too good to be true, but it isn't. The coffee is great (Peets has my favorite cold brew anywhere) and its always 50% off if you have a capital one card. I don't know what I would do with out my morning cup of joe and welcoming atmosphere of this establishment. Every time I come in I am always greeted by friendly staff who work for Capital one and also Pete's coffee. They have quickly learned who I am and have worked hard to create a relationship with me. I get my usual drink and use their tables and internet to get some work done prior to heading into my office.
