Started having feral ants coming into our home after finishing a landscaping project. We tried various barriers and remedies, but the ants kept coming back. Checked around for exterminators and contacted a few, but Capable was the only one that had a year-long guarantee for their services. We had bedbugs. Fortunately we noticed before they were everywhere, and I called several exterminators quickly. I chose Capable because Gene explained his process the best. He continued to answer my many questions patiently, like how to use the strong insecticides we wanted while minimizing exposure to us, our two pets, and our belongings. He recommended two treatments 10 days apart, to make sure we kill all of the insects and their eggs. I knew very little about this when we started. Gene came out to give me an estimate for getting rid of a family (?) of rats who had moved into my house in the wooded Oakland hills. After meeting him and his brother Jim and hearing the plans for trapping the intruders and keeping their friends and relatives from returning, I felt confident entrusting the job to them. He determined that the past rodent proofing was still good but the older tile roof could be the source of entry (which would not be resolved until the roof was replaced with a composite roof). I have mice in my kitchen. I called and they came by the next day. The guy was super friendly and took a look around the house, inside and around the outside perimeter to try to find out how they were getting into the house and what might be done. After an assessment he gave me his best understanding of where they were coming from. He shared a lot of tips, and he gave an estimate, which seemed affordable, but also what I love the most was he told me not to bother to hire them at this point since I was doing everything they would probably do. I was being kept awake at night be rats gnawing and scratching behind the baseboards. We went through this last year and the people we hired back then were completely useless. These guys however, are absolutely wonderful and I recommend them 100%! I spoke with Gene two days ago about the multitude of dried rodent poop I had discovered in my unfinished basement. He was super helpful and gave me resources for how I could clean and disinfect it myself. Jim came to our rescue. We had a rat/mouse problem underneath our house and one mouse made its way inside our house. Our traps alone wasn't enough to handle the rats so we called for professional help. Better to call early than later as the rodents will gnaw away at your house and wires and destroy your property. I had 3 companies come out to my rental property to evaluate an infestation of mites in the apartment and some kind of rodent in the walls. I have managed my own properties for over 40 years, so I am pretty savvy about hiring people. Gene, at Capable, was the only person I felt I could trust to get the job done successfully. (This industry has a lot of problems with homeowners be gouged and the companies not getting the job done, so I felt I had to be very careful.) Gene's prices were also reasonable and he gave me an estimate in writing at the property after his inspection. He found three entry points where the critter was getting in from outside. I thought I had already plugged all the holes over the years, but I had clearly missed the ones he pointed out. He told me how to block the holes myself, but because his prices were good, I decided to have him do it, especially because he was already going to do the fumigation. I was very concerned about the critter dying in the walls, if he plugged up all the holes, and the apartment becoming stinky. Gene to the rescue! He said he would seal all of the holes except one. He had a one way door he could attach to the only hole left open, so when the critter went out for food or water, he could not get back in.
