Just plain outstanding service! They showed up quickly and resolved our rodent issue by sealing off all entry points into our garage for a very reasonable price. When I asked them to also check the crawl-space under our house, they pulled out a flashlight, crawled under the house, and set traps there, too. I actually tried to give them $100 for the extra work, since it was beyond what we initially asked them to do; but they refused to take the money. I like to receive services from smaller and local businesses. I read the reviews about "Capable Pest Control", and the reviews were on point. We received professional, caring, and the very "capable" service. I have bed bugs, ugh!@#*&%. He treated our apartment and even I spoke to him the next day or so and he told me where they were located, even give me the description of the furniture to a "t:. He really noticed our furniture! - I thought this was wonderful. He treated my place on Saturday and will return in 2 weeks to treat again. I think I will have him come for maintenance every couple of months, only because I just now know more about these @##$% pests. I seen one move, must of been baby, it was like a small dot moving. Also, I want this company to continue to come because I think it will take time for me to get the "heebie geebies" feeling gone and that I trust that Capable Pest Control will get rid of these @#$$%^ pests. Oh, his has a great assistance, very friendly as well as Gene. Th They explained things to us and answered our questions. I would recommend this service. Reliable, pleasant, efficient, easy to schedule, reasonably priced, and a one-year guarantee. I am a landlord and there were ants in the kitchen of a one-bedroom apartment that I rent out. Gene returned my message within 24 hours and was able to schedule a time to come to the rental property within 48 hours. I had never used a pest control service before and he gladly answered all my questions. I was not present when he treated the property, but I trusted him and things proceeded smoothly. I left a check for him under the mat on the front porch. The tenants were present so they let him in, he treated their unit and the outside of the building (to destroy the nest that was generating the ants), and then left his invoice under the mat as he left. I have received no further concerns from my tenants so I assume the ants are gone. The treatment is guaranteed for a year. The fee, $250 to treat a one-bedroom apartment and the outside of the building, I thought was reasonable. I would use Capable Pest Control again (though I hope I don't have to!). read more

Use them! I called at about 10 A.M. this morning after getting stung by a yellow jacket. Their nest is right near our driveway next to the sidewalk. Gene and his assistant called back and said they would be here between 1-3. They got here at 1:30 and within 10 minutes had taken care of our infestation and taken the time to answer all my questions. My yellow jacket problem was solved within hours of my phone call. Two men arrived with everything needed--bright lights etc. A short time later I paid a very reasonable fee, problem solved. The next day, as Gene suggested, I checked but found only one live, very lost looking yellow jacket and the next morning, none. We had spotted a rat in the rafters of the basement in our home. After we called Capable, Gene came within a day or two to make an assessment and bid for the work. In the first visit he identified several places where rats could get into the basement and also noted that none of the vents into the attic space had screens to prevent entry into that space. On the second visit a few days later he spent several hours fixing all of the areas he had identified. He said that the attic did not show evidence of rats having been there, but in the basement he located the opening that the rats had used. He set traps in the attic and basement and then returned two more times, each several days later, to check the traps. For each of these four visits he was always right on time, and he explained things clearly and answered all our questions. Thank heaven for Gene! My husband and I can finally sleep in our own nice bed again after weeks of scratchy rat feet skittering over our heads in the night. We'd tried another company first, and I can't emphasize enough what a night and day difference it was to find Gene. -- Not only professional, trustworthy, and knows his business, but was very persistent in the face of a mystifying challenge. Our bedroom is on the finished third floor where our ceiling almost touches the roof. There is no crawl space, so the problem was to find the way the rats were getting in through the roof. After setting traps and closing every possible roof opening he could find, Gene was about to give up, but he didn't! On the last try he found a tiny opening way up under where two angles of the roof meet. He sealed it. That did it, because the rats have been gone for two months now. I've lived in rodent-strewn Rockridge for over 25 years and have had to get help from pest control people several times. It's never pleasant. This summer, once we'd heard the pitter-patter of little feet, I contacted several companies who insisted that our situation was dire and would require thousands of dollars to remedy. Then I talked to Gene from Capable Pest Control. He was friendly, calm, kind and low-key. He came over, inspected our house, identified entry points, and laid traps (with a commitment to come back 3 times in the future to check the traps, all for $350. He also gave us an unbelievably reasonable estimate for making the needed repairs. He promised to return quickly if the traps did their work before his scheduled return. And when I called (shakily) 4 hours later to report the 1st strike, he was here within a half hour to haul it pick it up. When he did the repair work he discovered that the roof access point was more extensive than he had first thought. But he just went ahead and did all of the work needed to restrict rodent entry - all without charging another dime. Throughout all of this he was matter-of-fact, funny and reassuring. I was very happy with the service provided by Gene and Jim of Capable Pest Control. He was very personable and helpful and responded to phone calls promptly. He helped me by humanely evicting two squirrels from the attic of my house in Berkeley. I was very pleased that no poison was used and methods used were humane to animals. These guys are great! I'm so glad I found Capable Pest Control. Gene and Jim are awesome. The first time I contacted them, we had a huge yellow jacket issue right in front of our house. I called them on a Saturday and they came on the next day... a Sunday morning! They gave me such a good price too! They came very promptly that morning and took care of business in 15 minutes! The yellow jackets were gone the following day. (They do take a day to give up on their missing home.) Then last week, we noticed another wasp nest... we thought maybe the old ones moved over! So I contacted Gene again. He called me back the next day and came that very day! They sprayed it, removed the nest by hand! It was amazing. Gene and Jim were so nice.
