I absolutely LOVE this place. Katie usually does my nails and she is simply the best. I always get the gel manicure, and usually don't have to come back for 3 weeks because they last so long! Their customer service is amazing - the first time I visited I needed to get the gel removed from a place I went to in Philly, and it took Katie nearly 45 minutes to get it off because the place I went to put the wrong top coat on. Katie stayed well past closing to fix my nails. They are very clean and pay close attention to detail. I saw someone complained about them not fitting in a walk-in a few hours before closing - the only reason they do this is because they do not want to do a rush job. They care too much about making sure they do a good job on your nails, and aren't going to "squeeze" someone in knowing they can't give you the best service possible. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. They are great! read more

I was so hopeful that this would be a good mani/pedi as it is so close to home. However, it was completely mediocre. They rushed us through the service for walk ins even though we had an appointment. Extra $5 for buffing-ok, but actually do the work. I go to a salon to have my cuticles cleaned up. They rushed through and over any of the things I actually needed. We will never return. I had a really great experience at Canton Nails. I needed an appointment right away before a big event, and they were able to get me an appointment that day. It took forever (over 30 mins) to park, but they actually waited for me even though they were close to closing, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere was friendly and I felt comfortable with both the people working there and the customers. My only tip-hone those parallel parking skills before you go or walk/take the bus. read more

Went to this "salon" 5 days ago after my friend and I had a nail date and my usual place moved. I saw the $50 gel mani/pedi Happy Hour special posted on the Yelp listing, so we tried this place. When we walked in, I mentioned the $50 special and was told that was a holiday offer and no longer valid, but the tech said she would give me the discount anyway. So I sat in the pedi chair. This place is NO FRILLS. They play day time soap operas and I wasn't offered anything but a basic pedicure. No list of different options, so I'm not sure if they have more than basic. The pedicure itself was fine. She got most of the dead skin off and let my feet soak, but the tech paid little attention to the shape of my nails. She filed them for maybe 30 seconds total. Massage was super basic and short. Then I sat in a chair for my gel mani. Again, the tech hardly filed my nails and I had to shape them myself after I left. The gel application was rushed. I left with bubbles and polish that didn't cover my entire nail (almost every nail has blank space on the sides). Looked like someone super lazy did them and I could've done a better polish job at home. When I checked out, I was charged the full $75 gel mani/pedi pricing. After I mentioned the Happy Hour special again, I was told she would give me a $5 discount, NOT the $50 price she offered before. That rubbed me the wrong way. This was not a $75 mani/pedi. Also, my friend was very unhappy with her nails. She got acrylics with gel and the polish turned out lumpy and wavy on 3 nails. She asked the tech (a male, different tech than mine) to redo them, but one nail still looked wavy when she left. The only positive thing is there isn't much chit chat. They do your nails and don't really talk to you at all. read more

Horrible. Will not be returning. I had an appointment and still sat there for an hour waiting while the salon was completely empty and one of the employees sat there on her phone. The appointment itself took 2 hours and all I got was SNS dip on my hands. In addition, the SNS dip nails (which can usually last up to a month!) started chipping in multiple different places within two weeks. The two times I have been here to have a gel mani and pedi, the technicians got me right in and did a great job. Otherwise, there are several problems with this salon. Most importantly, they are never open when they say that they are. I have tried several times to go in and they have been closed during their listed hours of operation. This salon is very unreliable and therefore, I can't justify wasting my time trying to go again. This is bad business and they are losing clients. This morning I waited at opening time for 15 min...another client waited for 5 before she moved on. Lastly, the staff is unfriendly. They do not engage and seem miserable to be there. My new favorite neighborhood nail place! While other local nail salons are raising prices, Canton nails is $25 for a regular pedi. And, they do an amazing job to boot! I had a tear in my big toe nail which they helped repair with gel covering at no charge. My lady gave me a great foot and leg massage, and did a really thorough job. Can't wait to go back! read more

I've had my nails done here twice, and both times I had different service with different nails (although the same service). The staff practically yells in their common language and don't communicate at all with their customers. Overall, the first time I had my nails done I was left underwhelmed... I went back a second time and it was much better, but I feel I'll only return if no other place is available. read more

Just ok. It wasn't busy on a Saturday at 10 am and was able to walk in for a mani/pedi. They were very nice but the quality of work needs improvement. The paint on my nails were not even and you can easily see the brush strokes. I think I would rather drive out to my old spot in Columbia next time. read more

I recently decided to try a new salon in my neighborhood. I would have never thought a salon could seem nice but have poor service and high prices for stuff they could not do properly. I was really underwhelmed by this place. I walked in one afternoon to get a gel mani and the place reeked of stale garbage. I decided to give it a shot anyway, mainly because I was the only customer and I knew they would be able to fit me in. My technician (didn't get his name) was less than friendly and I got the impression that the staff would rather sit around and give each other manicures (which they were doing) than care for their clients. Prices are the same as all other nail salons I the area. I will advise to go with cash bc tips are only in cash. I never make an appointment, I'm always a walk in. I would've given them 5 stars.... until today. Ive been going to them and getting acrylic and gel for a few months now. I've been thrilled with the service, reasonable prices, and how great my nails last and look. However, today I decided to go elsewhere out of convenience and the nail tech found a great deal of fungus under each of my nails.. that and some other things that were wrong. My nail beds were so destroyed from how deep they had sanded each time (which I could feel), that it was excruciating getting the existing nails off so she could clean the fungus out. Now, I don't know if this is directly their fault, BUT the other nail tech told me it was from them not cleaning well enough when they were doing fill-ins. And also, the set should have been totally taken off and redone much sooner. my poor nails hurt :( read more

I needed to get my eyebrows waxed after work (something that takes all of 5-10 minutes) and wanted to try a new place close to my new home in Canton. I had just arrived at the location at 7:29pm and the door was locked. A gentleman opened the door and informed me that they were closed. I said, "Oh ok because the sign on the door says you close at 8pm" to which I was informed that "they have stuff to do" so they're closed now. My sister and I go for a monthly pedicure date and have gone to multiple places around Canton. When we first started going to Canton Nails we absolutely loved this place however as time has gone on the service has become eh. Which is disappointing considering we always tip VERY well since we come and sit for awhile and bring a little wine with us. Yesterday we went and received the worst service: terrible and super short massage (the massage is the reason I pay extra!), refused to put lotion on our legs after the massage, at one point very obviously making fun of my sister. When we brought up the issues with the owner, which I ALWAYS believe in doing, not just hopping on here to complain and not allowing the business to make it right, she basically told us too bad, so sad...and then rang us up incorrectly. Looking back now I'm not even sure why we tipped them given everything that happened. They won't be getting our business anymore. read more

This salon is modern and nice inside. The technicians are awesome. When Bryan does my gel nails, they last 3 weeks! My nails grow faster than the manicure. I always get a French so you can't see the growth as much. If your crunched for time, call ahead and make an appointment. Very reasonable prices too... read more

Not sure what happened to my original review, but here it is again: Where to begin? I have been getting gel manicures for years, and was happy to see a new spot on the Square open up. I had a good experience the first two times I went with Jenny and Katie. It went completely downhill after that. The third time I got a guy named John. I always ask for my nails on the shorter side because I play piano, and this has never been a problem. John completely butchered my nails! He cut off so much of the side of my nails that it literally hurts to type right now. It will take a while for them to grow back normally. I was so upset that as soon as he was done polishing I said I wanted to leave. As I was checking out, I showed another nail tech how bad my nails were and he agreed and told me to come back and they would redo it. I was in a hurry so I left, but when I got home the gel polish started peeling off in sheets within a couple hours. I was so upset that I went back that night and asked for a refund. They asked me to come back the next day so that they could fix it. I agreed to because I just wanted this garbage off of my nails. The next morning I went in as soon as they opened. The place was empty except for 3 nail techs and John. John wouldn't even look at me! The other nail techs helped me instead. I said I just wanted this stuff off my nails, and I wanted a refund. They said they could not do that, even when I asked to speak to a manager. Apparently there is no manager, and the owner does not live in the country so none of the employees are empowered to give a refund. They offered me a gift certificate to come back and use, which of course I refused. At this point I didn't want to step foot in this place ever again. It got worse from there - John began arguing with me and saying that I WANTED my nails that way. I was incredulous! Why on earth would I want my nails shaved off on the side to the point where they hurt, and why would I want to pay for a gel manicure that peels off within hours? At one point, two of the nail techs and John were arguing back and forth with me, their customer. So not only did they ruin my nails but they treated me like garbage. Ultimately, the two nail techs felt so bad about the situation that they refunded me the money out of their own tips. I hope they hold John accountable and get the money back from him. Only ever had a pedicure here, but have had multiple good experiences. They greet you upon entering, are detailed oriented, and give a great massage. When it is crowded they do seem to rush more than during slower times. I also think they are reasonably priced. Parking can be frustrating at high times but not too bad if it's not peak. read more

I typically receive (from no matter where I go) less than impressive manicures. I went to Canton Nails three weeks ago to try it out and it was, by far, my best experience. Ryan did my nails, there was NO rushing, he was friendly and considerate, and he made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I sat there for 45 minutes while he fixed my terrible manicure I had gotten two weeks earlier at another salon and filed my nails into perfect points like I had wanted them to be all along. So, yes, Canton Nails is worth your time, your money, and you feel classy as you walk out with EXACTLY what you went in for. Oh, ask for Ryan. He's great. read more
