Canton Low have been feeding me for a long time now, and they have never been anything but really good to great, but at the moment with and craziness going on amidst Covid_19 pandemic, they are bloody awesome! The delivery driver who came today to my door which was open for the breeze but had my wire door locked, he asked after my health and when I told him that I was a little sick and so to be safe he should just leave the food at the door, he said "Ok if you are sure. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, please look after yourself and let us know if you need anything".. I don't know his name, but that made me happy and honestly a little emotional. Given the terrible things certain people have been saying about the Chinese people because of the Corona Virus outbreak, and then ridiculously taking their frustration out on American Chinese people, it was so nice that he was genuinely concerned about me and how I was feeling. I gave our delivery driver the amount he told me plus 20% cash but the total didn't sound right. So I called the restaurant to verify the total. Lo and behold, the actual total was a few dollars less than what he quoted! If you read the reviews, you'll see that the delivery drivers here frequently shake customers down for more money. This was not an honest mistake. Second star for the restaurant eventually agreeing to compensate me for the money their driver shook me down for. But no future business from me, ever. The restaurant should discipline drivers who behave this way, and they should pay their drivers enough that they don't feel compelled to defraud their customers. read more

Me and my husband did a pick up order today, was our first time trying and I was extremely satisfied. Ate here late last night after a hard flight into LA. Was not expecting anything but a warm bowl of soup. It was all so surprisingly delicious. Sweet and Sour Chicken is awesome I went at lunch time. There chicken pieces are smaller then they used to be. I sadly accidentally ordered fried rice when i wanted steamed rice. The tea is good. This is the best Mandarin Chinese restaurant in all of Los Angeles. Great service and authentic food. We love the pork fried rice and bbq spare ribs. Firstly, this place has been newly remodeled, and I have to say...it looks AMAZING. I usually don't care about how a restaurant looks, rather I care more about food quality, but now Canton Low has both - excellent food and a beautiful dining area to compliment the great food. The food at this restaurant doesn't get anymore authentic in my opinion. My Chinese grandfather cooked authentic Chinese food and Canton Low is the only place that can come close to mimicking his delicious dishes. The best dish on the menu is hands down the Orange Chicken. No other spot can compare. Period. If you have something to say otherwise about the Orange Chicken you can meet me out back of Canton Low in the alley and we can further "discuss" the topic. Ya feel me?!? When I moved from Torrance I found myself looking for a new Chinese place. A co-worker recommended Canton Low so I decided to give it a try. Actually I've had Canton Low about 3-4 times now, all of which were take out. The food is fine which is what kept me going back. However, the last couple of times, and actually right no as I'm typing this, I've had difficulty getting through to place my order. In the range of 30-45 minutes, calling every few minutes, the line has been busy. The last time I failed to get through I went into the restaurant to place my order which was inconvenient since I had to sit there waiting for the food to be prepared. What irritated me was that I witnessed one of the workers chatting away on the line. No wonder I couldn't get through. I brushed it off thinking that it was a one-time thing. But today, I'm experiencing the same thing so it wasn't just a one-time thing. This is terrible customer service! read more

This place reminds me of the local Chinese restaurant me and my dad would go when we couldn't agree on anything else. It's fast, greasy, flavorful, and has big portions, which is everything I want/need in my Chinese food experience. My go to dish is the Moo Goo Gai Pan which is white meat chicken, snow peas, and mushrooms, but instead of a dark sauce, it's more of a starchy white salty sauce. I usually just get it to go, because the inside is your typical kind of depressing, wouldn't have a big party there, weird colored Chinese restaurant. Once in a while I go there with my bf and we get the family dinner that comes with soup, appetizers (chicken wrap, egg rolls, fried shrimp, and salad), and two entrees. It is super filling when you're ridiculously hungry. I haven't had anything I hated, and all the chicken meat is white meat which is a plus for me. I live very close by and like to support local businesses, so I go here when I can, but it's not that high on my go to places in the area. read more

Can you give negative stars??? This place was the worst! From the minute we set foot in the door until we walked out it was a downward spiral. The host and the waitress were very rude. I seriously think there were some racial overtones. Nonetheless, we pressed on. I ordered the chicken broccoli and my boyfriend ordered the broccoli beef from the lunch menu. The meal started with a gelatinous cup of egg drop soup that was completely disgusting. The entree quickly followed. It included salad, fried rice, a wonton and an egg roll. The chicken tasted like it came straight out of the can! It was so unappetizing. The fried rice was hard and bland. The only think I could stomach was the wonton. My boyfriend wasn't making out much better. He advised that he had much different expectations and the meal was subpar to say the least. They quickly brought the bill during our meal. I discreetly spoke to the waiter and advised that I did not enjoy my meal and did not eat. He immediately got defensive and demanded to know what was wrong with the meal. I advised that it wasn't very tasty and the chicken did not seem fresh. They started speaking to each other in Cantonese. I expressed to them that it was rude to start speaking in Cantonese directly in front of us so that we could not understand what they were saying about US. I remained polite and calm during the exchange. Reluctantly, the manager instructed the server to give us 10% off the bill. Given their terrible disposition, my boyfriend refused the discount and requested to pay the bill in full. Hands down the best Cantonese food I've ever had. Take it from a girl whose been to Hong Kong. My must have is the wor wonton soup and orange chicken. I know, I know, how original. But hey if it ain't broke don't fix it. Orange chicken is how its supposed to be, crispy and spicy. Egg foo young is also good. All their appetizers are great, crispy and hot as hell. I used to love this place, their food tasted clean. Not tonight's delivery. The egg fu yung was deep fried and disgustingly greasy with no trace of egg in it whatsoever, it was all potato filler. I called the restaurant and they explained to me their egg fu yung is always deep fried. The menu does not note that.
