Dimsum breakfast in Portland, Oregon…read more.. After 8am mass, we drove to Excellent Cuisine because it was nearby and because I saw a photo of the piggy buns. However, we were too full to order piggy buns and we didn't see them on the rolling wagons. Thinking that it would be crowded, we arrived before opening time and saw that there were about six people waiting to get in. LOL! We were guaranteed a first round seat! Service was efficient since we sat near the kitchen - so we could see what's coming out fresh and hot! I asked if there were taro puffs (my niece's favorite) and hom sui gok (my dad's favorite). These fried items would be coming on the next wagon, but the server went and got them for us! Wow! Thanks! We got shrimp and chive dumplings and plain shrimp dumplings from this stemed items wagon. Of course, we had to have custard tarts and the cute piggy and ducky-shaped puddings! The coconut and mango flavors were subtle. We liked the coconut more, even though the ducky wiggled more! This was a really fun and tasty meal! We wouldn't mind returning! We appreciated the free shared parking, convenient restroom, and beautiful, clean environment!

We also bought half a duck, the piggy dumplings and duck shaped gelatin to try at home. Their wrapper is a little softer than was we normally get in Hawaii but I like it better.

We ordered a variety of dishes including Cantonese beef chow fun, shrimp green beans, fish maw soup, and some stewed beef. The beef chow fun was a bit too dry in my option, there are definitely better options in Portland for this dish. However, the green beans were stir fried perfectly and were super crispy. I absolutely love a good fish maw soup, and this one was generous in the ingredients! The medium was more than enough for multiple bowls for the three of us. Finally, my favorite, the stewed beef, or ngau zap. It came still bubbling and hot, but the flavors hit the spot. The beef was tender and it paired really well with rice. Can't say much about their dim sum, since it has been quite a while since I've had it, but I'll be back soon to try it!

My usual rating for a good dim sum place is usually 3 to 3.5 stars. And coming from an area where…read moredim sum restaurants are a dime a dozen, I'll push this up to 4 given where it's at. In this area, there are only 2 dim sum places (the other being Excellent Cuisine...apparently it's the same owner). There are 2 other dim sum places in the Beaverton area but they don't have carts. We arrived at 10:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was about 2/3rds full. By 11 a.m. it's full and you will need to put your name on the wait list. Service is your usual...loud, kind of rude but not overtly great service but that's to be expected. Most of the ladies spoke Cantonese and Toisan. When you're ready to pay, you have to take your check to the counter and pay there. Food wise, it's legit. It doesn't have the same level of options that I'm accustomed (Los Angeles/Monterey Park) to but their staple dishes like ha how, siu mai, fung jow, dahn taht, hom sui gok were pretty good. But the food from the carts came out hot and fresh. If I'm back in the area again and need to satisfy my dim sum craving, I'd definitely come back.

I went over to get their Hamburger Week special from last year that they had on for just three days on their menu again. It is a delicious burger, Angus beef with crispy fried onion rings and a Hong Kong-style pepper sauce. Just every bite so delicious that it doesn't even need any cheese! Go and say hello to your new neighbors and or just drive from the other end of town to show them some love. The rice was seasoned and on top there were lots of the green onion and ginger sauce. There were also 2 other sauces too, one was spicy chili and the other was soy sauce. The chicken was nice and tender but they shouldn't have poured the green onion and ginger sauce on top for customers because it was TOO SALTY! And it made a pretty big puddle of oil between and at the bottom of the rice bowl.

We came in cold and hungry and left full, happy, and already planning our next visit!…read more The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We may have gone a little overboard ordering (okay... a lot overboard ), but no regrets because everything was delicious -- and the leftovers were just as good later! We started with the beef brisket soup and WOW. The broth was rich, flavorful, and warmed us right up. It hit the spot perfectly. For my little guy, we ordered the chicken bites and rice -- his absolute favorite -- and he cleaned his plate without hesitation. That's always a win! The pan-fried pork dumplings were juicy and packed with flavor. Perfectly soft on the outside and tender on the inside. So good. And of course, we couldn't resist the brisket plate... because honestly, who says no to more brisket? It was hearty, tender, and satisfying. The setup is simple and easy: you order from a self-checkout kiosk, grab a seat (there's window seating plus about four other tables), and the staff brings your food out to you. Smooth, quick, and convenient. Great food, friendly service, cozy vibe -- we'll definitely be back!

We thought she was the owner because she was so kind and welcoming! Food: Everything was made to order so it took more time. 1. Handmade pork dumplings ($10.95). Very good and juicy. You don't need any sauces, it was flavorful enough! 2. Chinese style postickers ($10.95). When you first eat it it was very good and it was super pretty. The downside was that the wrapper got hard very quick and became stiff and hard to eat. 3. Beef brisket noodle soup ($11.95). Very good, the soup was nice and piping hot, the beef was tender, and the noodle's texture was very good. 4. Popcorn chicken ($8.95). Very good! Not spicy (there's a dipping sauce for it), very juicy and great texture and the batter was light and crispy! The downside was that it's hard to find parking but the food was good and the area was clean! The tea was also very good, it's not something that I would say often. Portions were also very reasonable, too.

Staff: very kind, quick, and attentive, especially the tea/water. Food: 1. We ordered 'white plain chicken' I don't know a better word for it. It was nice and it tasted good with the green onion and ginger sauce. The skin was bouncy which meant they cooked it well. 2. We ordered an entire fried sole fish. There wasn't a lot of fish meat but the skin and bones were fried nicely so you can actually eat those parts, too. The downside was that the soy sauce was way too salty. We'll ask for it to be on the side next time. 3. Clams in black bean sauce. The clams were plump, fat, and juicy. There were at least 20 clams and each were good and no sand. 4. We got mentaiko seafood fried rice. It had a lot of mentaiko, scallop, and shrimp. The portion of this fried rice was huge and it was constantly piping hot. It was delicious and very fragrant!
