Come this place from Seattle. Ordered tofu chow mein, and sesame balls. Omg so cheap and delicious,we pay just 13.50. In Seattle will be cost 20. Cool outside seating space especially with warm weather. Just one concert waiting need 20-25 minutes and workers very bad speaking English didn't understand us at all,but for food is Unaffected. Thanks was very delicious

Can't believe I've never been here! We got the sichuan tofu, beef noodle and pot stickers. Everything was so good and flavorful! I wish this place was on Uber Eats or something. Definitely will go back to try the other items! Was hard to choose.

The food here is SO good if I could come here everyday I would. Anytime I am in Sellwood it's a must that I stop here and order a veggies dish... or 5!!

Came here after reading all the good reviews! Now THIS is vegetarian food done right. It's not a place that advertises on being vegetarian where you see one or two veggies in your food. I had to absolutely count how many veggies were in my curry tofu with veggies-- zucchini, mushroom, bok choy, green bean, carrot, onion, cauliflower, broccoli smothered in a silky smooth curry sauce.

Great food and service! Price for two was very reasonable. Less than a mile from the hotel we were staying at so any easy walk.

Best vegetarian Chinese food in Portland. Reasonably priced, large menu and they give you a ton of vegetables. Highly recommend.

This place is beautiful! I was planning on ordering food to go, but all the plants and natural…read morelighting and friendly atmosphere changed my mind and I stayed. The food was so good it made my day; adding tempeh to the mighty bowl with the garlic and tahini sauce is so good. 10/10 recommend. The real reason I came to write this review though is because staff is super sweet and genuine. It was my first time coming here, and I had a lot of questions about the menu to the point where I could feel myself becoming annoying (face palm). The gal taking my order was Jessi, she was so helpful, kind, knowledgeable, accommodating, and authentically friendly. I can't remember what it was that we shared a laugh about, but I walked away happy because of that type of simple interaction that restores your faith in humanity. People who have never worked in the service industry are generally clueless and walk into a restaurants like it's their first day on earth. But even with my string of annoying questions, she never once made me feel like I was being a nuisance. Whoever is in charge here you should give Jessi a raise. The food is great, but she's the reason I'll be coming back!

UPDATE: Harlow responded that my items were picked up over…read morean hour after ordering. This is not true. I ordered for pickup myself and picked up less than 10minutes After I placed the PU order. That's the whole reason I said they were "exceptionally fast" in my original review. The ambiance was cool and the service was exceptionally fast. Unfortunately both items I ordered were gross. I love chocolate and peanut butter together esp with coffee but their drink was inedible with an awful taste. Maybe they gave me almond butter by mistake. Woof I couldn't even force it down. The quesadilla was incredibly greasy and nothing like a quesadilla. The mouth feel of the walnut chorizo with the soft vegetables was weird / it felt gritty. The flavors fell as well. The only highlight was the salsa but I'm 90% sure it was salsa de welo which you can buy at a store. No one would finish my quesadillas at the table. Major miss for me. Some of the worst food I've had - sorry.

We came in and although the place was mostly empty of customers the place was clean and had a nice aesthetic. We ordered the main attraction which is the Hot Pot which you can customize however you like, along with chicken fried rice which were both very delicious. People started showing up as we were eating which helped with the emptiness. Such a lovely place, don't hesitate to come in at give it a try!

I really like the individual hot pot concept. You get to pick exactly what you want--vegetables, meat, seafood, noodles, and other ingredients--then choose your own soup base. The experience is a little like Mongolian barbecue because you select your own ingredients, but instead of grilling them, everything is cooked in your personal hot pot. The price is based on the weight of the ingredients you choose. It's also similar to traditional Chinese hot pot, except everyone gets their own pot instead of sharing one. I actually prefer this because everyone can enjoy a different soup base and customize their meal without having to compromise. I ordered the No. 6 spicy dry pot (without broth) and chose the mild spice level. It had a nice kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. My husband chose the tomato soup base, which had a rich, delicious flavor. He practically finished the entire bowl of broth and commented that it felt like such a healthy, comforting meal with all the vegetables he added. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The food was flavorful, the staff were friendly and attentive, and we loved the fun, customizable dining concept. We'll definitely be coming back and would happily recommend Big Hey Hot Pot to anyone looking for a delicious and unique hot pot experience.
