I came back to Canton Kitchen after a long time, hoping to enjoy what used to be my go-to for Chinese takeout. I used to love their shrimp fried rice, but this time I ordered a simple 2-item combo plate with teriyaki chicken and mixed vegetables. To my surprise, they tried to charge me $14 for the combo, even though their menu clearly lists a lower price for a 2-item plate. When I asked why, I was told it's their standard combo price now. It didn't add up, and after some back-and-forth (including the staff speaking in Chinese to one another), they eventually knocked off $1 -- but I still paid $13 for a meal that wasn't worth it. Sadly, the portion size was small, and the teriyaki chicken was dry and flavorless. Nothing like the quality I remembered. The service felt dismissive and unaccommodating, which just added to the disappointment. There are plenty of better Chinese restaurants nearby with better service, food, and prices. This was my last visit to Canton Kitchen -- they've lost a loyal customer. read more

Fried rice tastes burnt , chow mein flavorless and dried up & over cooked as if it's 3 days old, the wonton soup is so bland taste like water. We also ordered honey walnut shrimp & they just put it in a glob of MAYONNAISE, no honey flavor , no sweetness , no walnuts , disgusting shrimp in mayonnaise ; gross!! If I could give this place a zero I would. I was craving Chinese food and wasn't familiar with the area as far as good Chinese restaurants. I looked this place up and the rating was 4.2 out of five so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I was so wrong. I've never had Chinese food that I couldn't finish. I had wishful thinking that maybe this would be a Diamond in the rough kind of restaurant. They had chow fun which so love for this kind of Chinese fast food. I ordered the Pork chop and Orange Chicken. At the end of the day, I didn't taste anything unique and everything was extremely greasy. It looks like it use to be a donut shop. Not a lot of seating and they won't let you use the restroom. But I got the pad thia noodles instead of chow main and with it I got BBQ pork which was very tender and full of flavor and the orange chicken which was really good too. It's probably the best in a long time thar I have ever had. I can't find good Chinese food out in Rancho Cucamonga. read more

I went here while in Inglewood for an LL Cool J concert and stopped in to pickup food before checking into my room locally near by. Thought it was the same owners of the Canton Kitchen in Marvista that they closed down years ago (which is the one they used to film Traffic Hour) but it's not the same owners. I was excited to eat here only to find out it wasn't the same place. Food was ok. Not as good as the one in Marvista but not bad either but totally different. It's take-out and buffet server style. So you pick what you want from what's available but you can order specialties as well from the menu if you want anything special other than what's already pre-made. It's in a small strip mall on Manchester and parking lot is busy. I probably won't return if I were in Inglewood again cause the food was just alright for a commonly moderate price range. read more

Raised on this style of Asian cuisine, I get the urge once in awhile and the Canton Kitchen is a close walk from my home. They have a relatively small , but diverse menu. A no-frills type of restaurant with lots of take-out customers. The quality is good, service quick, the combination plates are reasonably priced with very good portions. And the chow mein was over seasoned we barley ate it. The orange chicken was pretty good and the their portions were good as well however I pad almost $40 for my food. I tried this place. I thought the food was decent and would've given it a 3 1/2 stars if I could. I rounded it to 4 for the service and the price. I had the combination ($9.59 on 7/17/22) with chow mein and fried rice. The rice was a little bland and the chow mein didn't look appetizing but the taste was good. I had the salt and pepper pork chops which was excellent plus the egg foo young. The egg foo young was hard (couldn't cut it with my plastic fork) and a little bland. Service - they are to go only but they were polite and responded quickly to any questions I had (good communication). For $9.59 the value was good and I was too full to finish. I would go back but I would order something different than egg foo young. I would definitely reorder the salt and pepper pork chops. read more

Let me start this off by stating that it's a fast food Chinese restaurant. The only thing I really get at Chinese fast food restaurants is vegetable fried chow mein. I love crispy noodles, and, for the most part, have an aversion to pork and beef. Chicken is good every now and again. I always get the vegetable chow mein at this place, and I love it! It's obvious when I don't like sometime (I move it around in my plate and take a millimeter bite of it), but everytime I get this dish, I gobble it up. Their teriyaki chicken bowl for $4.99 is amazing!! They get 5 stars for that deliciousness. Their Wor Won Ton Soup is also great (4 stars). The combo fried rice that everyone enjoys was really just OK. I didn't too much like the fatty pieces on the chicken/pork, so I think I'll get shrimp only going forward. Now, the real reason for the missing star is this fried pork burger that everyone calls an egg roll. Nowhere have I ever had ground pork inside of an egg roll, so needless to say, I was surprised. To make matters worse, there were so many tiny little fat pieces mixed in there, that it made it virtually inedible to me.
