We ordered a whole spread for two families. We ordered it to go. The food was BARELY edible. Pork fried rice and crab rangoons were the only thing we could get down. Well for one thing you food isn't very good. You charge too much for it. The sauces you serve with the meals are terrible. If I didnt have soy sauce i think I would have thrown it away. Your noodles are a joke. The noodles are under cooked and serving spaghetti noodles don't count as Chinese noodles. Just terrible experience i have their 3 times now and every dish i order was unsatisfying. I felt cheated. Only thing I did like was the potstickers. Eventhough you could not get them steamed or you could only get them made of pork only. Not sure if the cooks are authentic or trained to make this sloppy. But they servely need improvement. We crossed the border into unknown land of unknown Asian type cuisine. Thankfully we had a great translator waitress that let us way through the menu. Our waitress is a great help. Good service good oolong tea looks like an old fashion. Caldwell Chinese place try kicking up the food with a little chili paste. It'll really help. read more

I have liked this little restaurant, eating in or take out, since the olden day, when it was open after the bars closed! The Mandarin food is quite good (to me), judging by the traffic thru their doors, I believe they have many other fans, too. One slightly off the wall thing that I especially love is their chicken and rice soup. If I still lived in Caldwell, they would be tired of me! But, I drive over weekly for a large container of chicken/ rice soup and an order of fried rice that lasts 3 days (the soup is gone before it's cold!). Thanks, Canton! read more

Small portions that lack flavor. We were disappointed. My son says this place is forgettable. We ordered lunch combos, one with pork chow mien and sweet and sour pork. Other was supposed to be pork chow mien with mandarin chicken but it arrived with sweet and sour sauce instead of mandarin. The sweet and sour pork and chicken is just meat with a thick batter. No veggies or anything else but sauce on the side. We also ordered a side of crab Rangoon. They were ok while warm but once cold they were soggy. Did not taste anything except cream cheese. Lacked flavor. Any time I have ordered Chinese the portions are enough to have leftovers......not this place. Enough for one meal and the lunch combo was $11.75. Over priced for the portion. We spent $39.44 today and left a tip because the waitress was kind and helpful. read more

First time dining here. I chose Dinner #2 (Pork fried rice, crab wonton and mandarin chicken) and added small fried shrimp (4) and one egg roll. The food was hot and flavorful. I liked having the option of dark or white meat chicken (I went with dark as it's more moist, imo) The fried shrimp were a little over done, but still had good flavor. The egg roll was stuffed full of meat and veggies and again had good flavor, but not something I would order again. Overall, pleased with what I got. Will definitely visit again read more

Wow this place has gone WAYYYY downhill. They have doubled their prices and the serving sizes are so small. The place looks dirty over all the interior. When I called and asked why the servings were so small she stated they have always been that size, which I'm certain isn't true. yikes after ordering there for 6 years I will be looking for a new Chinese take out place. Worst food experience of my life and the bad thing I had to pay for it. My kids couldn't finish the food it was so disgusting and disappointing. I am not trying to trash talk them but it was so highly priced for me to leave more than half of the food on the plate. We were asked if we wanted a to go box and said no thank you. Delivery: I ordered Curry pork, Pork Lo mein, ham fried rice, Mongolian beef, and 3 cans of Pepsi. Delivery was quick. I might add the restaurant called immediately after the order was placed to inform me the Curry pork was not available. Not a problem. The only screw-up was the driver brought 3 cups of pepsi instead of 3 cans. Who in the world would order a Styrofoam cup of any cold beverage in 100 degree heat, knowing it will be flat and warm when it arrives? All in all, the food was tasty, but very bizarre looking. This is the first time Ive seen lo mein that had the consistency of soup. ( see photo, round container). Even the Mongolian beef was like a stew. Very weird. But like I said, it tasted fine... not great, but fine. Im not sure yet if I'd return. I would have to think about it. My order came to $51 which included $8 delivery and a $10 delivery tip. However, Im a sucker for tipping delivery drivers, so I gave her an additional $10. She seemed very grateful and hopefully it made her day. read more

Growing up in Caldwell, Canton is nostalgia. Canton is not true authentic Chinese food, but it does a consistent and good job of being American-Chinese. I ate here as a high school kid nearly 20 years ago and just recently ate here again. The recipes have not changed and the taste and the quality of the food was no different. If you have guilty cravings for some tasty savory comfort food, look no further. In terms of service this place has always done a good job of offering high school students some good part time work with flexibility. If you are nice and polite, they will be nice and polite. Me and my family love Asian food, we are happy that we tried this one recently. We actually ate here last week and we came back again. The crab Rangoon and egg rolls are the best among all the other places, and I love the Canton special fried rice and their Mandarin Chicken, so tasty!!! Worst I've ever had. Ordered to go sweet and sour pork. Bag full of crunchy noodles, 3 containers, 1watery sweet and sour sauce, 1 deep fried crunchy greasy what ever, couldn't tell if it was shrinp, chicken, or pork, 1 slop of onion, cabbage, celery and corn starch. Phone rings all day and no one answers. You have to order online or in person for to go orders . I won't be coming back it's not worth it. I had food Mess up and still got charged for the error . Make sure to specify soft noodles for the chow mein or else you'll receive what appears to be baby throw up Also before leaving I over heard two other issues. I wish I would have read some reviews before eating here I would have avoided getting sick and so would my son. The food was cold greasy and if that wasn't bad enough it lacked flavor. It appeared to have been cooked in oil that was way past it's prime. I don't like writing negative reviews but what I really despise more is dropping $30.00 on food that made us both sick.
