It was a little awkward coming in because it appears like a counter order and sit system but they actually seat you. We were guided to a table after they watched my friends and me wondering aimlessly trying to figure out the process. We ordered appetizers first, Crab Rangoons and gyoza. The rangoons were stuffed with cream cheese and crab, deep fried and crispy. Gyoza was heavily browned with hard edges and soft middles. All ingredients and sauces tasted fresh. We ordered as soon as our appetizers were delivered but our food came out almost immediately after. Kudos for quick service, but I was juggling appetizers and eating a meal which isn't my favorite thing to do. Not to mention, two people received their meals at the table, then mine came about 3 minutes after, then my last friend about 5 minutes after that. Pacing was uncomfortable as people were waiting on our friend to receive her meal to start eating. My husband had the teriyaki chicken. The broccoli was cut in larger florets but were perfectly steamed, ladled with a touch of teriyaki sauce. The chicken was fork tender and nicely seasoned. Though the rice amount was on the smaller side, the portions were incredibly generous for the price. My tonkotsu broth was not as flavorful as I'm used to but was a nice combo of flavors. The noodles were stuck together and the bok choi was in large pieces which made it difficult to eat without gnawing on a huge piece like a lady without manners. But I did it anyway. My friend loved the beef and broccoli. My other friend was not a fan of the orange chicken though I found it perfectly cooked...just without a crispy candied outside (which she prefers). Service was very slow after our food was delivered but those women were hustling to take care of a lot of orders, so I understood. When they finally came to give us the checks, they offered to box up my ramen...which was well done to keep it fresh. Very pleasant experience, though I would have loved a more flavorful broth.

The salmon roll was flavorful, although the pieces were cut unevenly, which was a little unusual since sushi rolls are typically sliced consistently. The partially burned planter outside and the dry water feature in the entryway made the exterior feel somewhat neglected. If either feature was under construction or awaiting repair, a sign explaining the situation would have been helpful. The restrooms also appeared to need additional cleaning and had an unpleasant odor. My server was kind and friendly, but service was inconsistent. When I first got up to find her, I wanted to ask whether the restaurant offered beer or wine; unfortunately, it did not. Later, I had to walk toward the kitchen to request a to-go box and my bill. This Chinese buffet was horrific! Firstly, we went there, and before we ate anything, we asked if they used peanuts in their dishes; we have a severe peanut allergy in the family and we generally have to ask this question before we go anywhere. The cashier couldn't answer the question without stuttering, so they had to go through their menu and then point out the things they THOUGHT had peanuts - it turned out they didn't know almonds from cashews from peanuts. So they finally confirmed that it was just vegetable oil, after speaking with the chefs. But that's not even the worst part... After we were seated and we got our food from the buffet, (we did not bother ordering from the menu, since we figured the buffet would have everything we needed), we instantly regretted even going there -- the food's seasoning and sauces were all wrong, making it taste funky in your mouth, and the chicken was stringy, fatty, and chewy. The rice was dry, crunchy, and clumped up in a ball, and everything was just wrong. I'd say my favorite part of the meal was the water that I ordered. All of that being said, we decided to leave early, considering the food was disgusting -- our plates were still pretty full of food when we were leaving. So before we left, we headed to the bathroom, because we both actually felt a bit sick. I, for one, was completely nauseated by their cheap-quality food. It was only then that I realized my blood sugar was dropping, (I am a type one diabetic), and we needed to leave because I was getting shaky and ill. So we exited and quickly made our way back to the cashier, where my mom realized she didn't have her wallet with her. She had searched through all of her purse, but it just wasn't there. She gave them her business card, including her address and phone number if they needed her, and offered to come back and pay for our meal the next day -- (It was 20 dollars for that rotten meal; it should have been only five!) -- but the manager instantly became upset and raised his voice at my mother, demanding that she pay him now. He clearly couldn't see how sick I was, nearly passed out in the corner; or at least, that's the only explanation I can come up with. My mom repeatedly tried to get him to understand that she didn't have the money, and he could call the cops if he wanted. So he gladly accepted the offer and followed us out, as my mom dragged me out of the buffet. While we got in the car, he took the time to write down our license plate number, but we quickly set off for home. At that point, I wasn't feeling too hot. So when we got home, we almost immediately got a call from the police department, and a female officer explained that the owner of the restaurant had called and said that he would press charges against us if we really didn't come back and pay the next day. And that's pretty much how our day ended; I felt sick, so did my mother, and we were being harassed by an angry Asian man -- for something that was not out fault. It's too bad he wants to treat us all like thugs, but honest to God, I am a diabetic, and I nearly became unconscious in his filthy restaurant. I do not recommend this buffet to anybody who doesn't have a liability waver in their will. It is gross, low quality, and the management is just about as good as a taco truck. read more

This place was a nightmare compounded by the fact that my daughter's blood sugar dropped in the bathroom and, while I fumbled for my wallet, which has apparently been stolen, the cheapskate owner yelled at me that he was going to call the cops. I gave him my number and said please do so. This was an awful meal, we were sick before we left the restaurant (hence the bathroom). Save your money.. No redeeming merit. I can see where Idahoans might become less than immigrant-friendly based on the shi**y ethos demonstrated by management. It's no even real Chinese food. UGH. Go to Chung Hing. read more

Since I had walked over 2 miles to get here, I wanted to be seated rather than at one of the bar tables. If you're a fan of Thai food, this might just be your favorite place in Boise! It's got a nice vibe, and I noticed that the tables and chairs are cleaned after each visit. Everything is very clean and classy, even the restroom. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, but not too flashy. Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp 5/5 Spring mix, cucumber, carrot, cilantro, mint, rice noodles, and avocado wrapped in rice, served with peanut sauce or spicy Thai seafood sauce (add Shrimp for $2 extra). These are like a delicious, fresh, hand-held salad wrapped in rice paper. They're not fried, but fresh my favorite way to enjoy them. They also have Crispy Rolls, but I prefer the fresh ones. These are especially great on a hot summer day! They come with two dipping sauces: a peanut one and a lemony butter sauce. I know I'm different, but I like the lemony butter sauce instead of the peanut sauce. Pad See Ew 5/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with egg, carrot, broccoli in sweet black soy sauce, with your choice of meat. I tried it with seafood once and with veggies and beef another time. Always delish! Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) 3/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with green bean, bell pepper, Thai herbs, chilies, and basil, with your choice of meat. I've had mine with chicken, but this one's my least favorite because I thought some of the pieces were a bit too dry. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I didn't eat a few because they were tough. Since it was my second time, I didn't want to complain then, but maybe I should have mentioned it. Mistakes happen to everyone, so sorry for not bringing this up sooner. Slice of Cucumber Salad 16 oz 5/5 Thinly sliced cucumbers, red onions, and carrots, usually dressed in a light, sweet, and sour vinaigrette. This is a favorite of mine. To me a unique recipe! Fried Wings 5/5 Nice crispy, tender, and nicely fried chicken. Deep fried marinated Thai-style bone-in chicken wings served with sweet chili and sour sauce. So tender and juicy, yummy! Coconut Shrimp 5/5 Deep fried coconut shrimp served with spicy mayo sauce. Freshly made Sangria 5/5 Cold and delicious. The Game Changers: I appreciate that you can review your order before paying. I like the digital system, and what's more important, they ask for feedback right away. I think that's pretty cool and admirable. They want to know upfront if they've done anything that made you have a bad experience. I also like that they're linked up with Toast for loyalty reward points. Basically, for every dollar you spend, you can get a reward. I really think this is a great feature that the restaurant has that I haven't seen anyone comment on, but to me, it's a great benefit for the customer. Don't worry if you don't have a Toast account; I believe you can get one at their checkout process by providing your phone number. I already had a Toast account, so I might be mistaken. Just ask at checkout, and they will explain to you. They sanitize the tables after each use. They have chopsticks. The owners are from Thailand, and they have a great kitchen staff. The kitchen team includes Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee. Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee come from the northern province of Thailand. Chef Pitsy (Owner) is also from the northern province of Thailand.
