While we were on the road, we called ahead to let them know we were running about 15 minutes behind, and we were told that was okay. When we arrived, the restaurant was extremely crowded, but because we had a reservation, we assumed everything would still be handled properly. We checked in and were given a beeper, but then we were told we would have to wait about 10-15 minutes. After 30 minutes passed with no update, we checked in again and were told it would be another 10-15 minutes. After about an hour, we checked again and were once again told the wait of another 20 minutes. At that point, I asked what the purpose of making a reservation was if we were still having to wait this long. One of the ladies explained that they don't actually take reservations, but instead use them more for records in their system. That honestly did not make sense to me, especially because we planned our evening around that reservation. We were very disappointed because this was supposed to be a special celebration, and by that time it was already too late to go somewhere else without risking another long wait. What made it worse was that we started noticing other family groups who arrived after us being seated before us. When we asked about it, one employee said she was sorry but that it was her first day and she didn't really know what was going on. Another employee apologized and said the manager was setting up our table and it would only be five more minutes. When we were finally seated, the experience unfortunately did not improve. The servers and meat servers seemed very rushed, and at times they did not notice when our cards were flipped to green. My sister was skipped several times. The buffet/salad bar area looked messy and scattered, and several trays were empty. We went back a few times hoping items would be restocked, but many things were still missing. The meat also did not meet our expectations. For the price and reputation of this restaurant, we expected much better quality and service. Even the grilled pineapple, which is usually one of the highlights at Brazilian steakhouses, was often barely charred. Toward the end of the meal, I still wanted to make the best of the night, so I quietly asked if they did anything special for birthdays, like a song or small surprise. The manager said yes and asked which table. I discreetly pointed it out, and instead of simply confirming, he referred to the person at our table in a rude and unnecessary way. That comment was disappointing and unprofessional. He later came out with a slice of cheesecake and said, "I don't know how to write happy birthday, so what I do is this," referring to two drops of chocolate and caramel on the plate. Then he left. There was no birthday song, no "happy birthday," and no real effort to make the moment special. To make matters worse, when we received the check, we noticed we had been overcharged for specialty drinks that were never offered to us or ordered. The charge was corrected after we brought it up, but it made me wonder how many other tables may have been charged incorrectly without noticing. Even after the correction, our bill was still around $380. For that price, we expected a much better experience, especially for a special occasion. Overall, this was extremely disappointing from beginning to end -- the long wait despite a reservation, poor communication, rushed service, messy and understocked buffet area, food that did not meet expectations, an uncomfortable birthday interaction, and an incorrect charge on the bill. Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend this location based on this experience.

The workers seemed slightly slower than the other location I have been to. No biggie. Finally, when it was my turn to order, the guy motioned to me and said something (I couldn't understand him, but it was obvious he wanted me to place my order) so I started my order and then he mid-sentence of me saying the order, he looked down at the monitor and said "one minute" as an online order came in and he started to proceed to make THAT order as I stood there waiting to finish my order. I am not thinking the world should revolve around me at all, but I have also learned that in customer service the person in front of you should be the priority. So finally, I placed my order and moved on through to the cashier. She had ZERO smile and ZERO eye contact. I pride myself on being a cheerful, polite person who also tries to give a genuine smile. She seemed to be tired and definitely didn't want to be there. I had to WAIT to pay bc she was turned waiting for something. No explanation like, "I'll be able to get your payment in just a second" or anything of the sort. The food was delicious, nonetheless. The lighting at night inside is a little too much on the cool side. We decided to take our order to go. Will we be back? yes, but to the Spring Forest Road location instead. the staff is friendlier and way faster!

Okay, We're from New Orleans so when we see a "New Orleans style" restaurant, we always question…read morethe authenticity of the claim. In the case of Succotash we feel we have found the holy grail... Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff? check Homey and a little funky atmosphere? check cool soundtrack? check BUT what about the food? We first came for brunch... I had the 'Brisket and Grits'. It was a very tender brisket with cheesy, garlicky grits, scallions with fried egg. The best part? They drizzle some of the brisket gravy over the grits... Oh man this was delish. We got talking about South Louisiana food with our server and he told us they bring in Leidenheimers french bread from New Orleans for their po-boy's. What's the big deal? ...I'll tell you! The bakery was founded in 1896 and it is the ONLY bread that marks a true po-boy to New Orleans natives. Why? Because of it's unique texture. Their loaves have a pillowy soft interior and a crunchy crust that isn't found in most french breads. It's the gold standard for po-boys. So today, I came back to Succotash for an Oyster po-boy. And the Verdict? Five stars mon ami! Leidenheimers bread with a very generous amount of perfectly fried oysters. ...I like mine simple with just lettuce, tomato and a little hot sauce. This was I can honestly say, the very best oyster po-boy I have found outside of NOLA. ... so yeah, I've found a new home... thanks and a tip o' the hat to Chef Juan DiGiulio and the great staff he has brought together!

I enjoyed the catch of the day corvina with a side salad and potato's. This dish was delicious. I got the fish blackened and this was a bold flavor with a spicy and deep smoky flavor. I enjoyed the peach bread pudding for dessert with a decaf coffee. The bread pudding presentation and taste didn't match but I wasn't disappointed. Everything was great.
