Awesome authentic Brazilian cuisine! Great value for money. Feijoada, picanha and coxinhas are a rare find!

Upon arrival, the Glorious Salad Bar is the first thing you see. it was like the heavens opened up! I was scared because I had my mind set to Carnivorous ~ was able to find some restraint. Everything offered at the salad bar was divine! When the skewers of meat started to arrive, we first tried the different sirloins, which were a little gamey. I hated to waste food but onward we went! The Flank Steak (medium rare) was by far our favorite, we even got seconds! (Still I wonder what happens to all the well done pieces we did not consume?) Beef Ribs were meh. Pork Ribs were Excellent! I could believe the crust on it and meat still so tender. Sausage on Skewers and Pineapple on Skewers also a Fave. Cheese bread arrived before we even put in a drink order. I kept thinking my adult children would LOVE that touch! The ONE thing I can't stop thinking about the next day (today) is the Candied Bacon from the Salad Bar!! Awe Man. I'll go back just for that. They have the perfect kick, too. Service was great!

The food itself was just okay--not terrible, but certainly not worth the price. The salad bar was very basic, and the lettuce appeared old and tasted sour. The biggest issue was the service. The staff seemed rushed and careless throughout our visit. My husband's finger was cut by a staff member, and water was spilled all over my dad's shoes and shorts, as well as my mom's purse. The spill was never properly cleaned up while we were there; instead, a wet floor sign was simply placed over the area and left that way until after we left. The restaurant was also uncomfortably hot. Everyone in our group was sweating while eating. I overheard staff mention that it was because there were too many people inside, yet they continued seating more guests instead of addressing the issue and ensuring current customers were comfortable. It felt like maximizing profit was a higher priority than providing a pleasant dining experience. When we asked to speak with management, the general manager was unable to communicate with us in English, which made it difficult to address our concerns. The assistant manager was friendlier and able to communicate more effectively, but by that point the experience had already been disappointing. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. For the prices they charge, I expected far better food quality, customer service, and overall hospitality. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. If I could give this place 0 out of 5 stars, I would.

She handled all the seating, taking orders, making the food, and delivering it to the tables. I sat at the bar counter and had the pleasure of watching all the magic happen. I had a chicken breast and wing with two sides: green beans and rice. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly, as was the rice and green beans. I opted for the regular, but tried the spicy and had some regrets. Will go spicy next time! A few other dishes were made while I was eating, and I will try some other items on my next visit. They also do breakfast during the week; I will have to check that out too. I'm a foodie, and having access to this type and quality of food in town is such a nice change of pace from some of the other options around. Congrats, Little Portugal!

There were several tables when I walked in, and she got everyone's drinks, took their orders, made the food and then dropped it off! You have to have a little patience of course, this is not a fast food restaurant, but let me tell you, it was worth the wait! I ordered the 1/4 white chicken with green beans and Portuguese rice. The flavors blew me away! It was some of the best chicken I've ever had. And the hot sauce on the tables is beyond reproach. I asked her if she sold it, and she said no. But she needs to! I can't wait to dine here again.

Our waiter was a nice guy (didn't get name, longer hair and mustache) and was attentive without being intrusive. They have a really good wine selection. I had several things off the menu, including the mussels and the brisket, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. The garlic bread was prepared well without being too hard. The space is a little loud but not overly so; we were still able to have a pleasant conversation. Highly recommended.

This review is offered as constructive feedback to the staff, management, and ownership of a restaurant we want to see succeed. Today we stopped in during Sunday brunch and placed a takeout order for one pound of brisket and jambalaya. The wait was approximately an hour. I understand that brunch is busy, and the restaurant appeared to be working with two servers, a bartender, a busser, and several people in the kitchen. The front-of-house staff seemed to be doing what they could. The issue appears to be kitchen execution and order flow. Operationally, an order consisting primarily of slicing a pound of already-prepared brisket and portioning jambalaya should not remain in the same production queue for an hour. This is less a staffing criticism than a process problem. Management may want to look at ticket prioritization, a dedicated expediter during peak periods, separation of simple takeout orders from full dine-in tickets, and clearer ownership of orders from receipt through handoff. When the food is already prepared, throughput should be measured in minutes, not an hour. That matters because a restaurant can have excellent food and hardworking people and still lose customers through a bottleneck in the process. The objective shouldn't be to make everyone work harder; it should be to design the kitchen flow so the same people can work smarter and move appropriate orders through faster. Parking has also become increasingly difficult and is worth considering as the restaurant continues to draw a crowd. None of this changes what we enjoy about Succotash. We love the food, the music, the authenticity and the character of the place. We'll be back. But an hour for this particular takeout order points to an operational problem worth fixing. Great food deserves equally great execution.

It was dead inside but gradually filled up during my half hour there. The place had a very down home feel, if you know what I mean. My order didn't take particularly long, but the take-out scene seemed more popular than the sit-down. Almost like nobody wanted to wait. I get that. The string beans and cabbage were as routine as possible. Seemingly no different than what you'd find at Cracker Barrel or a Bob Evans. But the hush puppies were some of the best I've ever had. Soft and flavorful on the inside; firm, with a mild crunch on the out. They didn't have the sandwich I wanted so I asked for a bun to make my own. And I did. I went in expecting to mix hearts with gizzards but instead they offered livers. I made due. I won't do that again. The iron flavor is too much. Next time, I'll stick with gizzards. They were good. Especially with lots of hot sauce. Best, A.
