Fresh and Delicious! They make their salsa themselves, and if you get the guac it's made table side. The margaritas are made with fresh lime juice- no mix- I wish I wasn't a lightweight because I could drink those all night! Alas, they are strong enough that usually just one is enough. My favorite dish so far is the enchiladas Veracruz although the fajitas are a close second. My only criticism would be that although their entrees are fabulous, the side dishes (rice, beans, etc) are nothing special which just seems like a waste. read more

Had the mahi mahi fish tacos which seemed to be popular bc while me and my bf sat at the bar numerous others ordered as well. Grilled over beer battered is the way to go, much more fresh & the aioli they pairs with it was delicious. Was about $10 with cilantro rice and black beans. Not to fabulous on those, I was craving another taco instead of the large side portions of average rice and beans. Drinks are FAB I would recommend them best margarita I've had in a long time. What a wasted space at MOA!! Huge restaurant , a Texas chain opened in twin cities . Looks welcoming from outside but they miserably failed the food test. Complimentary Chips galore served with a mild and spicy salsa . Warm salsa was a first time. Guillemero was our server. He seemed to be restless, distracted and rushed. Had no specific suggestions even when asked. His indirect message was " you got here on your own so figure it out yourself. I will just put in the order for what you ask for. Good or bad is your problem!! " . Miriam served us chips. Bur she was very informative and offered some tips on what to order. Ordered Casa Rita , their signature Margarita and the Cantina Mojito. Drinks were just like any other Mexican place. Picked the Ahi Tuna mini tacos for appetizer. Entree was Fajita chicken salad and Carne Asada (steak) with poblano drizzle. It appears they don't care for our cooking preference for the steak. Whether you call it appetizer or entree doesn't matter , After a long wait nibbling on chips and salsa and people watching , the food finally showed up all at one go. Mediocre sad salad , tough nut steak served with refried beans and green rice . The poblano sauce or drizzle had some flavor which was the saving grace for this dish. Mini tacos was good, but the tuna have me an allergy which indicates it was not good quality fresh tuna. I was in two minds to go into this place. But I've had a good experience at this chain in TX. But my first instinct prevailed. Bad service, mundane but expensive food makes this a no go 1 star! read more

Cantina Laredo is on the restaurant row of the Mall of America. The food was good and fast, but expect to pay a little more since you're in the MoA. They serve you chips and salsa right when you sit down, and oh my god once of that salsas is amazing. It's the best salsa I've ever had. I almost sat there and just at it and the chips for my meal. I ended up getting a margarita since it was the special of the day, and it was decently made. I had the chicken enchiladas and was a touch disappointed because it was just chicken in the tortilla so it came out a little dry. But it wasn't bad. They're getting 4 stars instead of 3 just because the salsa with the chips was that good. read more

We were at the Mall of America for my daughter's birthday and she chose this restaurant. We went along with it because it was her day....and we were so pleasantly surprised as this was some fantastic Mexican food. I had the steak fajita burrito and my husband was upset that he didn't order the same. He will order that next time! He had some tacos that were also very good, but weren't as good as my burrito! Our kids had the tacos and the enchiladas and they cleaned their plates. The server was friendly and attentive as well. This is one of the best restaurants at the mall. This place looked decent and seemed a viable option among the various fast-food and chains at the MoA. Unfortunately, the food was less than stellar, and the mojito was terrible. We ordered the Tres Fajita....the shrimp was good, as was the steak...but the chicken was AWFUL. It has the consistency of rubber. Snapped when cut and way too chewy (I had this happen at another restaurant once...not sure what causes it...but it sucks). Based on our experience, I wish we would have stuck with our original choice of Crave. Oh well...there is always next time. read more

Pro tip splurge on the gauc it is humongous and absolutely amazing! Brunch comes with a free mimosa or bloody Maria. We had the barbacoa tacos and they were delicious. Gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu with more than half of the menu being gluten free. I have celiac disease and I didn't get sick! Would def recommend. read more

My family and I went here for lunch and on their lunch menu which is very reasonably priced, we ordered the Carnitas bowl, the Monterey, tradicional tacos, and the food was great. The Carnitas bowl was by far the best with it crispy pork and cilantro lime rice was to die for! Also the poblano cream sauce on the Monterey enchilada was awesome! Bottle it and sell it! Delicious! First time we have been to Cantina Laredo to eat although we have seen it hundreds of times at the Mall of America. We should have gone sooner. The food was GREAT - service was GREAT and when you have cold winter days in Minnesota and you are sitting outside an enclosed restaurant it makes you feel like you are eating outside (kinda) - its Minnesota in February. We had guacamole made at our table and it was delicious. The chips are thin & crisp. Neither of us are fans of smoky salsa which Cantina Laredo serves. Other than that we would highly recommend this restaurant. Also, they have a cooperating agreement with Fly Over America - a ride in Nickelodeon Universe - The ride was fabulous. Not great, especially for the price. We got the Queso Laredo, which was thin velveeta cheese dip with taco meat - it was really greasy and just not that flavorful. I had the chicken tacos, which were ok but kind of dry, and the rice and beans that came with it were so bland! The only thing I really enjoyed was the chips and salsa you get when you sit down.
