Associated with the Ritz, this restaurant is roughly what you'd expect. The food is solidly good, but more expensive than what you would pay at a stand-alone restaurant. The price tag is solely for the atmosphere you get being at a beachside restaurant associated with the Ritz. The view was only meh in my opinion. I didn't think you could really see much of the beach due to the dunes/vegetation. Maybe the landscaping has changed since prior reviewers visited. The server was very friendly and accommodating, but overall food/service was kind of slow. Essentially, we ate here for the convenience of a beachside meal and to avoid walking back to our room, but I don't think we would come back. read more

After meeting a friend here for dinner recently, I'm simply tongue tied trying to articulate exactly how good the dining experience was :-) Everything (drinks, food, and service) was nothing short of incredible! We started our meal with guacamole (which they make while you watch, table-side), which was completely delicious. That said, the salsa they brought to the table along with a basket of chips was just as good as the guac, if not better! The salsa's texture was smooth and completely non-chunky; I wish I had asked for a jar of it to take home ;-) We also ordered the fajitas, which were just as delicious as the guac and the salsa. For our mains we shared the poblano rice with corn and the crispy shrimp. Neither dish disappointed; it seemed like everything we tried here was as good or better than what came before :-) Bottom line: If you're in the neighborhood, I strongly suggest that you stop in here for a meal and/or a snack - you will NOT be disappointed! In Miami for a couple of night , pre- cruise time, it was an opportunity to revisit one of my favorite beaches that I had enjoyed as a teenager here. Fortunately, Key Biscayne is very close to the JW Marriott on Brickell where we stayed . While enjoying some Crandon beach time, we walked along the beach to here for an afternoon light lunch. We were seated outside on the patio by choice and enjoyed the beach view. Complimentary fresh corn chips and salsa, we ordered guacamole that was fresh and tasty. Hubby enjoyed the fish tacos, tortilla soup, and I ordered a salad. Unfortunately, I had to return the salad due to the poor condition of the greens. The refreshed salad was definitely a step up and exceeded expectations for freshness, added ingredients and presentation. Service was very good as we had hoped for a Ritz location. One of the things I love about the Ritz on the Key is that you can enjoy their restaurants without being a guest. I love Cantina Beach. It's Mexican fare with some of my fave margaritas ever. El pepino diablo is my go to which has jalepeños and cucumbers. So refreshing with a kick. If you want some great shareables the nachos and crispy shrimp are great. While they have lots of things to choose from on the menu I always like the burrito. I usually opt for steak. It's huge, and definitely good for splitting with someone. Aside from burritos and tacos which are always welcome by me- nothing beats the Oceanside eats. Is this the most inexpensive experience? No. But the views and mini vacation vibes you get without actually taking a trip makes a stop at the Ritz on the Key one of my favorite things to do on a beautiful day. read more

I made a reservation on June 23 through Google. We were staying and the Ritz key Biscayne for the long weekend. Our reservation was for July 4 @ 6:30 PM. I was texted it several times to confirm. When we arrived the host said we did not have any reservations. The place was empty. After showing the texts he gave us the worst table under the sun he could find. We told him to call a manager. At that moment he gave us another table with no view at all off the sea. The manager never came. The drinks were not cold and the service poor. Food was ok. Finally the manager arrived to help with service. Not to talk to us. After explaining what happen he apologized and offer a free Mojito at the pool next day with him!!! Really so disrespectful that is terrible. His name is Ivan. I formally complained at the front desk and ask to speak with a hotel manager. Never happened. I love the Ritz and is sad to see that customer service is getting so low!! That is worst that bad customer service. Me having a Mojito with Ivan the manager from La Cantina won't solve the problem of not finding my reservation even when I show the text. Finally after 7:30 pm people started arriving to watch the fireworks. read more

Located on the right side of the main pool, and not far from the beach, is this Mexican themed bar. As soon as we approached, the bartender greeted us and took our order, a couple of margaritas, and boy were they delicious. You can sit at the bar, or at one of the few high top tables. While we were sitting there, the bartender even brought us some complimentary tortilla chips and salsa, which were delicious. This place is great for chilling near the pool and taking it all in. I LOVE IT HERE! I did a staycation with one of my good friends. We used to work at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando and wanted to try another Ritz out. We were blown away with the service and food. The staff immediately came up to us when we sat down to lounge at the pool. We ordered the steak nachos, steak & chicken quesadillas, and french fries. It was the best poolside food I have ever had and for not a bad price too. Everything tasted very fresh and it had the perfect crunch; nothing was soggy. All the food was seasoned very well. Overall, I was very impressed with the ambiance of the pool and restaurant. You HAVE to go to Dune Bar and try Geno's famous frozen mojito. One of our most favorite hometown hotels is the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne and this past Sunday we decided to make a visit. We decided to have some lunch at the Cantina Beach which offers Mexican cuisine with an amazing ocean view. We ordered chips and guacamole, cheese quesadilla, and chicken tenders with fries. Unfortunately I found the guacamole bland, while the chips were not crispy. The cheese quesadilla was also very underwhelming and small portion as well. Surprisingly the best flavor dish was the chicken tenders and French fries were super tasty. For dessert we ordered the churros which were sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and had a chocolate dipping sauce. The churros was ok I felt it was over fried, but cinnamon sugar compensated from the texture. The service was the best part, what you expect from the Ritz. read more

The Lighthouse at the Ritz was closed for switch over so we were recommended to pop over here for a snack. Decided to go for the lighter fare, ceviche, guacamole, and tuna tostada. I don't know why I expected great things, but something about being at the ritz you think you would get something fantastic to match the price point. While the fish was incredibly fresh for the ceviche, there really was no flavor. No heat, no punch from lime or anything else. It was a great portion and good to keep it light but really needed something to make it pop. The tuna tostada was good but I felt like it was a seek and find adventure to find the pieces of tuna. Stopped here for a drink and a bite with a girlfriend. We were already at the hotel, so we figured why not? Beautiful views of the water, lovely weather, and they were keeping proper protocol for COVID. I had a rosé (which I got from nearby Dune but found out later I could also get here), and if memory serves me correctly, my girlfriend had a mojito. Both drinks were on point. I wish I could say the same about the bite we had (we shared a massive - well, massive to us, guacamole) and the service. The guacamole was huge. Or at least it was to us. In reality, it's probably same size as other places. The guacamole was chunky with crunchy chips that were fresh and scooped the guacamole heartily. Flavor was bland though. It needed a kick - maybe some spice? As for the service, nice waitress, but we kept having to go to the hostess stand to get noticed. It seems we sat at the table and where people just passed us by. Oh well. It was an enjoyable afternoon overall, but eh - I've definitely had better. Not the sort of experience you expect at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel to say the least. I love how you can enjoy some drinks in here and then seat either in front of the pool or where I did, with the beach view. I spent hours at this place with my friend and we both enjoyed the drinks. Beautiful location! If you're looking for a beautiful place to wet your whistle on the beach in Key Biscayne, this is your spot! Drinks were a little pricey, but, to be expected. They had a very friendly staff. And..... They do have Happy Hour from 5-7 with $10 Margaritas and $8 street tacos. After a strenuous 13 mile run in 1:45 in the rain from South Miami to Virginia Key, I had worked up an appetite. I didn't feel like running back home, so Nicole picked me up and we continued on the towards Key Biscayne to the Ritzs' Lighthouse. Unfortunately we didn't have reservations and ran into a solid bookings for the next 3 hours until 3pm for their brunch. Thankfully we were flexible and settled for a nice alternative which was Cantina Beach where Mexican is served under a cute Tiki Hut right next to the pool and adjacent beach. We shared a burrito and guacamole with chips. No drinks this time. The corn chips were fantastic: seasoned just right not as heavy as normal corn chips but strong enough to use to scoop up the guacamole. Baby Mayla enjoyed it too. Overcast down-pouring rain sent the Ritzy guests scurrying from the pool. Thankfully, the well constructed tiki hut held up without any leaks. The staff helping us with our orders were very kind and we left sated and ready to tackle the rest of the day. If you enjoy Mexican and want a view to go with it, this is definitely the place to be. read more

This place has great food and service. You can't beat the ocean view either! The restaurant is under a large tiki hut and you have a view of the pool and ocean. They have spritzers and fans so you don't feel the summer heat. They bring chilled water in a large bottle in an insulated container to your table. Free chips and salsa are fresh and tasty. The lunch menu is much cheaper than the dinner menu. We had a cheese quesadilla made with delicious creamy melted white cheese and grilled veggies. The barbacoa tacos were served on small corn tortillas and topped with a large scoop of flavorful shredded beef. The valet parking is validated for $12. read more

We arrived at around 8:30pm and it was already dark so unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the ocean side scenery although we felt the nice breeze. I can only imagine how beautiful this place must be as the sun is setting. We sat in the lounge area of the restaurant. Very relaxing atmosphere. In order to get to Cantina Beach you need to walk through the hotel then pass the pool which makes you feel or wish you were on vacation! Wow! I had the skinny Margarita, trying to stay on the healthy side and it refreshing as the waitress said it would be. They did have a list of flavored margaritas which did sound amazing. We had the Guacamole, Octopus Ceviche, Quesadillas and it was all pretty good. Wasn't able to take pictures of the food because it was a bit dark. It's located at the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne, which immediately made me think it won't be very authentic at all, but I was wrong. Plantain empanadas filled with corn, Chihuahua cheese, cilantro and poblano sauce; elote; crispy shrimp in a spicy mango sauce and mojitos in every fruit flavor are just a few of the delicious items you'll find on the menu. We ordered so many plantain empanadas I thought we were going to burst! Besides the delicious food, you'll want to stay in the atmosphere The restaurant has a palapa roof, which was built by the Miccosukee Tribe of Native Americans, and has soft couches and fire pits to enhance the experience.
