Fabulous food (enchilada w/ verde sauce) and great mojitos! Service was excellent. We were able…read moreto get food at 10:45 which was great b/c a lot of kitchen's had already closed for the night.

Feel duped by this place. Of course Miami Beach is a tourist trap and so every single dining option…read moreis wildly over priced. Each plate was $30 and supposed to come with beans and rice but only came with a sauce cup of rice. The blue corn tortillas were very good, as were my short rib tacos. The drinks were amazing, I was excited to try Illegal Mezcal, our server helped my mom find what she would like and gave overall excellent service. I then realized the restaurant is owned by "First Class Hospitality" a group with nearly two dozen locations/concepts around South Beach. Alongside a couple other corporate hospitality providers, they have the entire dining market cornered with the same specials, identical pricing, and same foodservice providers. I'm sure many tourists couldn't care any less about the food they eat having no real ties to the area, but I do. At the end of the meal we had a 20% service charge which our server said did not go to them as a gratuity, the server was unable to apply the "Happy Hour" discount claiming our drinks didn't count though there was no indication based on the "Buy 1 Get 1 Free Cocktails, Beers and Wines" and we ordered off the cocktail portion of the menu. We were told by the hostess that the two other Mexican places we considered down the street were the exact same kitchen and prices, just different buildings and names, even down to watching our food be carried up the sidewalk from another building. Between the corporate soullessness, shady Happy Hour practice, cookie cutter concept, a "service charge" which doesn't benefit staff, and the food poisoning I have attributed to it, by the end I just felt sour. I regret patronizing this place and wish I had been more judicious in my choice. If I have to spend $100 on a meal, I'd rather it stay local.

If you love tacos and margaritas... or a few tequila shots, then this is your place! The fresh…read moremargaritas are some of the best we have had. They do offer a premade mix of margaritas on the happy hour menu, but for 5.00 more you can have a delicious fresh one made. Definitely enter the blue door to the back and enter the speakeasy, it's dark, loud, and turns into a nightclub after 11pm. There is a great lounge and a pool table for some fun. Our tacos were great, churros are delicious served with your choice of sauce and our bartender was fun, friendly and made the best drinks! Parking is tough, limited on the street so ride share is best as there is a lot of construction going on in the area. We highly recommend Bodega for a fun night filled with tacos and drinks! Cheers!

I had a hard time rating my experience at the Bodega because of a mix of things between ambiance,…read morefood, and service. Upon arrival I was a little unsure of the set up because I looked it up online, but when I walked in, I only saw the ordering station. Upon further inspection and walking up to the window, I found out there was a side entrance. When you walk in you were taken into a completely different vibe and experience. I was thankful the bar had TV's so we had something to watch. Overall, the food was good and had good flavor, but the drinks weren't the best and the bartender did have a slight attitude. We were the only people in the restaurant, so you think they would be more attentive and friendly.

Living on the beach for 3 years, this spot is a hidden gem if you don't know about it. The ambience…read moreafter a long beach walk brings you relaxation and calmness. Taquiza is nothing short of spectacular when it comes to their authentic blue corn tortillas. Coming from a hospitality family, Tyrese who was on his first day of training made sure our table and every guest interaction with tables around were satisfied and full. Asking about recommendations, he was able to explain the flavor palates provided with tacos and drinks. Though $5 a piece for tacos, seems a little steep this is like a reasonable Miami price considering others are about $8 for one in other places. We tried the crispy fish, al pastor, carnitas and Arrecha tacos. They were spectacular, and the guacamole with totopos thick crispy but fluffy blue corn chips. We even ordered a dozen blue corn tortillas to take home for $9. I think this is amazing price considering their authenticity. We even had their horchata and I loved it bringing me back to my childhood days. Give Taquiza a try, though some reviews here are not 5 star satisfied, I promise you won't be disappointed trying this place out at least one it twice whether you're a tourist or a regular. They are also pet friendly! A big win for the Beach community!

Came here for tacos and overall had a good experience, just a few things to note…read more The vibe was really nice. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day, which definitely made the experience better. That said, it's not beachfront, and there's construction going on right where the outdoor seating faces. Finding the restaurant was honestly a bit of a mission because we had to go around all of that. We did get seated right away, which was great. From what I could tell, there was only one server handling everything, so she was clearly busy and service was a bit slow. Food wise, it was really good. The carne asada tacos were flavorful and well done, and the guac stood out too. Their chips are house made and thicker than usual, which is different but still good. Overall, I'd come back. Good food, nice vibe, just be prepared for a slower service depending on how busy it is.
