But this place is GREAT! Very clean, fairly new, temperature-controlled, safe & secure, two large entrances & several large & well-lit walkways making it easy to access each unit (there's even a place to drive your car inside, which is a nice feature in bad or cold weather), dry & weather-proof (no worrying about the floors getting wet from slush or snow, even with the drive-up area), reasonably priced, very nice staff. Kevin is very helpful. Also, I'm a MAJOR bug-aphobe, and finding a storage place that didn't have creepy crawlies was important to me (especially when we were planning to store a couch and several boxes of clothes that didn't have the best lids). In the 3 months we've used Scott Co Mini Storage, we've only seen one dead bug, and I can't even be sure we didn't bring it with us on the U-haul. Highly recommend this place for your storage needs!

This PS is a bit older than the one half a mile away and seems to have more outside vehicle storage than the other. Spread over two buildings. The main building is where the office is. Not very convenient for dropping off things from your car and load in from vehicle will be either for larger garage door units to left or more convenient drive-through at the other location nearby. Here you have to park in front of door and carry it in or through small overhead door entry - tough during rain or snow. Also they are very much pushing using their app for entry vs using the keypad - which is easy and I prefer. So extremely annoying text every time I visit asking me to use app instead. If I wanted to I would. I'm hoping this is short term so I'll just keep deleting jerk texts. So overall this is ok. Not the cleanest or newest I have used. But easy, cheaper, and convenient. When they raise the rent, I'll probably move out. For now it works.

Day One Incompetence On move-in day, the manager somehow generated paperwork for the wrong size and configuration unit. When correcting their own mistake, I was hit with a hefty "move-out" fee after spending literally 1 minute at the unit. It took days of fighting to finally get my "one minute move out" money and discounted rate reinstated. 2. Absolute Zero Customer Care I was a reliable, prompt-paying customer for 9 months. In all that time, not a single person here--via email, text, phone call, paper letter, or face-to-face--ever bothered to say "thank you for your business." You are nothing to them beyond a monthly payment auto-draft. 3. Ambushed by a 32% Rent Spike The final straw was getting hit with a proposed 32% rent increase--an extra $1,748 per year. The kicker? They gave me a 34-hour notice before the new rate would go into effect with the subsequent month's bill. Instead of getting squeezed by a ridiculous price hike communicated on 34 hours' notice before the next billing cycle originated, I hustled and completely moved out in under two hours. The storage areas are clean and very well lit and maintained, and it's one of the more reasonably priced facilities that I was able to find. Would highly recommend these folks if you are in need!

What a fantastic storage facility! I had a large unit there for about two and a half years. During…read morethat whole time, they never raised my rent! Due to the top-notch security system, I never had any problems getting access to my unit. No one ever broke into it either. The system is set up where you have to input a unique personal code to even enter the property. Nice little protective measure, right there at the street. Then you drive to your unit, which can be either indoors or outdoors. Mine was inside, because I wanted a warmer, drive-up space for all my stuff. Having the car parked inside--right next to the unit--is very convenient. There are other features that keep everything secure. For example, the doors to the building housing the indoor units will not open unless a valid personal code has been input at the entrance gate. Also, the unique personal codes are linked to specific storage units. So you have to unlock and enter your unit, or else the system will alert an on-site employee. Translation: anyone who is not authorized to enter the property will be unable to gain access to any storage units. Even the people who have legitimate units can only enter their own particular storage spaces. Speaking of security, there are surveillance cameras around the property and inside the buildings. A little redundancy there, but additional layers of security and protection are always reassuring. And you can use your own lock, whatever you prefer. One unusual feature is that the buildings are tucked into a carved-out area of a hillside. That shields everything from the prevailing weather patterns coming out of the north, northwest and west. This makes for warmer conditions. Even during winter visits to my storage units, the 'icebergs' in the wheel wells of my car would start melting and fall off. This facility is situated right on the edge of a large commercial area that contains just about every type of store or restaurant you might need to visit. Closeness to Costco (~ 1 mile away) was helpful to me, because I was able to purchase some inexpensive shelving that helped me get my unit better organized. There's also a Salvation Army Thrift Store nearby. They accepted all my donations of furniture and other salable items when the time came to let go of certain possessions (yes it happens!) and get myself moved out of state on short notice. Finally, the people who work for North Star are very professional, honest and downright helpful. My thanks to you two--Alec and Albert--for the positive difference that you made in my life!
