That isn't the issue. ... the issue is the $4.00 charged manually TWO hours after I left that I didn't authorize. It was one beer... poured from the tap. If you expect a tip for a single beer, then you need to adjust your expectations. I know this is theft because her two friends at the bar immediately tried to recoup my expense while questioning why I "came all the way back here for $4". To which I responded, "it's not about the $4 it's about the principle and the trust. If you're encouraging her to steal from me, then how many other customers is she stealing from?" The general manager was kind enough to look through the receipts and discovered that the $4 WAS charged. He immediately reimbursed me and apologized. The bartender of 11 years apparently made an "error". 11 years.

You don't buy a package and get stuck with things you "kinda" like... you get to pick everything yourself and bring in your own outside vendors (food, music, etc.) You choose your party hours, floor set-up plan and get to bring in your own alcohol (for their bartender to serve)! Even though the venue can fit 300 guests, you only pay for the guests you'll actually have. Sharon worked with us to customize every detail to our liking. She is very easy to work with and extremely helpful at keeping track of everything and following up to make sure we have everything for the day of the event. I really appreciate the flexibility at Oceanview Pavilion and highly recommend them for anyone looking for a nice, affordable party venue in Oxnard/Port Hueneme.

We've been wanting to visit the Oxnard Historic Farm Park for a while now, since it's part of the…read morePassport 2 History program. The limited hours of 9 to 12 on Saturday mornings hasn't worked for us in conjunction with other plans on the Oxnard Plain. I was glad to see that they were participating in Ventura County Farm Day, and staying open later than usual. We made it one of the definite stops we planned for the Farm Day activities. It was not what I expected. Good surprise! First, it's tucked into a neighborhood with green belts and a park, which gives a more spacious feeling than I was imagining. It's also not near any other farmland. What they do have is a number of vintage buildings, several plots where they're growing crops, some farm machinery, and more. There's a lot to take in visually. On Farm Day there was an added bonus that a gentleman was operating an old printing press, then giving away the bookmarks he made. They were literally "hot off the presses". He had a wry sense of humor, and it was fun visiting with him. We weren't able to pick up a stamp for the Passport 2 History program, as we never found the rep for the property. We were greeted by volunteers for the SEEAG group, the organization promoting Farm Day. Guess we'll have to go back to enjoy the surroundings one Saturday morning. I recommend this venue for families with kids, as there's lots to see, interesting backdrops for photos, and opportunities to talk about where food comes from, besides Ralph's!

Herzog provided everything we needed including breakfast, glassware and amazing lunch options. Not to mention adjustments when the weather shifted. A great layout. Best restroom facilities and information about their amazing winery and its history. I've been part of the Wine & Spirits industry since 2012 on an off and more recently back on + Herzog is one of the best and oldest kosher wineries in the world. Joseph Herzog is an amazing man and the VP of HWC, I met him a few times in the past but it's been YEARS. I didn't get a chance to speak with him directly, but he thanked us for coming out and along with the rest of the Herzon team/family was nothing but welcoming and thoughtful. One of my favorite draws about Herzog overall is that's is 100% vegan friendly as well as kosher, making it suitable for so many people. And Tierra Sur is very vegan friendly - some dishes are vegetarian. Do let they know about allergies and restrictions and they'll do their absolute best to accommodate. Their Alexander Valley wines are some of my favorites for sure.
