Night time front deck has no idea how to do things. Very lost on answering any questions. Smells in room. Very very poor cleaning. Found MOLD and HAIR on EVERYTHING!

    The "partial ocean view"

WARNING they will not honor your booking reservation if you book through travelocity. I booked a king bed with partial ocean view. They gave me the cheaper room with 2 queens and Idk if they're misleading about the "partial" ocean view, but there's no ocean view at all from our room. When I showed the lady at the front desk the confirmation email stating the room we had booked, the lady at the front desk basically said it's not their problem because I booked through travelocity. It sounds like they encounter this problem often because of how quick they were to reach for that excuse. Also they told me that I booked "last minute", but I booked 18 hours in advance and their check-in doesn't begin until 3pm. It's an inn, not a luxury hotel. If it's too last minute for this business to accomodate, it shouldn't be available for purchase, and they need to work that out with Travelocity. The way they handled the mishap was rude and lacked hospitality. Spend your money elsewhere. There are nicer hotels in the same area that hover around the same price point. An entirely different issue is the deadbolt lock on the door to our room, and the lack of safety it provides. Attached are the pictures of the "partial ocean view" from our room, and the deadbolt lock of the door. Room 102 for reference.

Our view from room 215. Stunning.

What a marvelous way to start a new year ! We got a room at the Cannery Row Inn with a beautiful view . Room 215 actually . Allan and his staff really have it going on there . We will definitely be going back . This hotel is located just minutes from all of the stores on Cannery Row . Within walking distance . It is also situated just across the street from a little Park that has beachfront access. I want to thank everyone there for such a great job , perfectly clean rooms , and just a nice welcome place to stay .

We celebrated 25 year Anniversary here. Awesome Stay Great Location ....... Great nightly rate. It's a little outdated not bother to us. We walked everywhere parking is tricky on Cannery Row. Room was very very clean the bed was SO comfortable and 5 great pillows. We sat for hours on the balcony people watching. . Staff very accommodating and friendly. Pay the extra money and get the room with the partial view you can leave your sliding door open and listen to the waves all night. Amazing breakfast at The Wave Street Cafe. Stay Away from The Fish Hopper Restaurant. Cold food hubby was sick all night. Thank you Cannery Row for a special stay. We will be back!

Balcony outside room accessible through sliding door. No smoking.

Stayed here for a 2 night getaway. The inn looked good online, so I booked a King room. Bed was large, 2nd floor room had large vaulted ceilings. Patio view was of the street. Desk clerk was friendly and told us where nearby restaurants were at 9pm arrival. Elevator was ok, no problems. Covid safety signs everywhere, masks to be worn and 6 ft distancing. Room key was touch, not insert, which was nice. Didnt have to take key out of paper sleeve to activate door. Room had good wifi. 15 minute walk to Fishermans wharf, and a bit longer walk to historic area. Plenty of restaurants with varying prices. The first night, we heard birds squawking from around 12am to 2am, and intermittently throughout the night. Also heard automobile traffic from 7am onwards (the roads were not paved well, so the ka-thunk ka-thunk of the car and truck tires was noisy and bothersome. Could not sleep in). The sliding glass door was probably not well insulated. The bathroom was clean, bathroom ceilings were tall, which was good for my 6ft frame. Showerhead was head height, but water pressure was low. Not sure if this was a City of Monterey policy or poor showerhead (I noticed water was leaking from where showerhead connected to spout.) Plenty of hot water. Room had cable tv, although after sightseeing, we didn't watch much tv. Fridge was fine, we didn't use the microwave, coffee maker was fine. Room had a desk, armchair and a nightstand on either side. On last morning I called for late check out, and no dial tone for front desk. Later realized phone cord was not connected to phone base, my fault for not checking. Overall good stay, but I would not get a room facing the streets. Not sure if the more expensive rooms were non-street facing.

The hotel offers a nightly happy hour and musical performances. During our visit we had the pleasure to discover a highly talented artist by the name of Adrea, who has the most incredible voice and presence. We were so impressed by her and were very fortunate that she performed both nights of our visit. It was a performance we would have gladly paid to see, she is a rising talent for sure. This was our second time staying in Monterey and I had been looking forward to staying at this hotel someday. It was everything I imagined and more! The service was exceptional from the valet to the bellhop to registration and restaurant staff. We are also IHG elite members and we were given a room upgrade with a thoughtful card and gift for our anniversary. Our room was facing the ocean on Cannery Row with a balcony. It was a very nice, spacious and clean room with alot of thoughtful attention like providing refillable water bottles, robes and an amazing Nespresso machine. There was also a wine bar and snacks available for purchase. The hotel had a wonderful scent throughout and we enjoyed walking through the ocean vibes staircase featuring a jellyfish. Definitely look for that! We loved having our anniversary dinner at The C Restaurant, but that will be another well earned review on it's own. However, we did have two negative experiences, one was that we waited a bit too long for our car at the valet once and there was an accidental spa charge on our receipt when checking out. I still gave them 5 stars because they rectified it right away and even removed the valet charge for us, which was much appreciated. I would love to come back to this hotel someday to bring my parents and we hope you love it too!!

I booked a Mother's Day getaway at InterContinental Clement in Monterey through Chase Travel and…read moreunfortunately it was a disappointing experience overall. The biggest issue started at check-in. I had specifically booked a double bed room with a fireplace, but upon arrival they only had a king room with a fireplace reserved for us (apparently anything through a third-party system was booking incorrectly, but I think that is on the hotel to resolve themselves). When I explained that we wanted double beds, they told us they only had a double room without the fireplace we originally booked. The room we ended up getting was a far walk from the elevators and overlooked the main street rather than the ocean, which did not feel worth the high nightly rate, especially after the reservation issue. I would have thought they would try to give us some upgrades (nicer room, nicer view) for the trouble. After my mom asked, they did comp one day of valet parking for the inconvenience but I honestly think they should have given more (and offered more to us in the first instance). I had very high expectations because I previously stayed at InterContinental Willard in DC in January for work and had an amazing experience. Even though that trip was not for a special occasion, the room included thoughtful touches like a handwritten card with artwork of the hotel, complimentary sparkling and still water, a large fruit bowl, and chocolate desserts waiting in the room. Willard also included a $20 daily dining credit and spa credit. Clement had none of these. At Clement, I had noted that we were celebrating Mother's Day and my mom's upcoming retirement, but there was nothing acknowledging the occasion. For the price we paid, the stay just did not feel special or luxurious. The amenities were also pretty underwhelming. The room itself was not noticeably larger or nicer than what you might expect from a standard 3-star hotel. While the hotel has been renovated, you can still see signs of age with rust around parts of the bathroom and sprinkler fixtures. While the location is convenient since it's walking distance to the aquarium, restaurants, and souvenir shops on Cannery Row, beware the surrounding area is heavily tourist-priced. Overall, this stay made me regret choosing Clement for such an important occasion. I don't think I would return, especially given the price point and the lack of attention to detail compared to other InterContinental hotels.

Toddler Notes for the Hotel: [[ Pro's ]] 1.) The room we got on the 3rd floor corner was very spacious and had a ton of room. We were able to set up a pack and play and still had a generous amount of room left to walk around. 2.) Blackout shades and see-through shades for double coverage which keeps the room nice and dark at night. 3.) Location is great as it's super close to Cannery Row, lots of restaurants, and Monterey Bay Aquarium which was our ultimate destination. 4.) Parking Garage is free and decently sized and can fit a mid-size SUV with no issues. It will get tighter if you have a humongous full-SUV though (see pictures). [[ Con's ]] 1.) So Many STAIRS. Like legitimately, there are so many stairs. I took a ton of pictures to give you an idea. Stairs coming down from the elevator, stairs between floors, etc. This is not very young kid friendly when you have a stroller, a bunch of kid items, etc. I'm not sure I would stay here again due to the amount of stairs and inconvenience. 2.) Noise Level - If your kid is sensitive to noise, be prepared to have a ton of sound machines because you really could hear a ton of things. Cars, honking, other people's rooms, etc. 3.) Shower - It did seem a bit rusty in certain places and our shower wouldn't drain so there was a big puddle the whole time we were showering. The steam also set off the fire alarm like another person mentioned. Quick conclusion - I think it's an okay IHG hotel but not very good for families with young kids. Good for the location though.

And now, after nearly a month of waiting, calling, and emailing, the kindle was FINALLY mailed. My initial review still stands. What an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience. "Disappointed" would be an understatement. Booked one night (using points) at this property and really wish we hadn't. Was charged a mystery $50 fee at check in. Then at checkout we asked what it was for, the guy working the front desk didn't have a clue and he tried to say he'd fix it "when the computers were working again." When we called his bluff by saying we'd come back in an hour, it was magically fixed. Shady! The room itself was meh... the floors were strangely sloped/didn't feel level. The real kicker here: there was no bedside table on my side of the bed (an inconvenience in itself), so my kindle was placed on the bed with me. I unfortunately forgot my kindle on the bed and didn't realize until we had checked out and were hours away. We called the hotel and were told they didn't find anything in the room. I know for a fact it was left in that room (I've double triple quadruple checked my luggage and there's no where else it could possibly be). Again, SHADY.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a warm charm that made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights of our stay was how the hotel carried such a unique atmosphere and history. It wasn't just a place to sleep--it felt like part of the adventure. Between the ocean views, cozy spaces, and local touches, it really captured the spirit of Monterrey. And then there were the ghost stories. Whether you're a believer or just love a good tale, they add an extra layer of fun and mystery to the stay. If you're someone that believes (or not), go to the front desk and ask for the "book". It had 78 pages of first hand accounts of unexplained happenings from guests. We had a very small moment ourselves, while I was sharing what I uncovered about the ghosts with my significant other in the morning, suddenly the bathroom light just turned on. Nobody was around and they do run on sensors. Not a significant event but certainly was well timed. Overall, Hotel Del Monte struck the perfect balance between comfort, history, and a touch of playful spookiness. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Monterrey that has access to a military installation--especially if you're looking for more than just a hotel, but a memorable experience.

Our only negative was that we were given the first room next to the entrance and stairwell, which was not fun to hear folks stomping up and down the stairs and slamming the doors.
