The rest of the experience kept devolving from there: 1. There are just hanging sheets separating you from the next customer so if they're moaning & groaning--you hear it. 2. I clearly communicated that I only wanted my calves and feet worked on yet that only ended up being 5% of the massage for one hour. I even got the lady playing games up front to re-explain that to my masseuse since his English was not strong 3. The masseuse had such dry hands/long fingernails that her cut one of my fingers 4. Instead of massaging me, he aggravatingly rubbed various body parts 5. There is no way he is a trained professional. He did not locate one acupressure point successfully 6. To repeat: THIS WAS NOT A MASSAGE BUT A MANIC RUBBING SESSION 7. When I went to pay the lady playing games was gone and masseuse who just wasted an hour of my day checked me out. I have been in here a couple of times, once about two years ago, and once a couple of months ago. The first time I came in was early in the morning when they had just opened. A man gave me half of my massage and then, when a woman arrived, they switched off without an explanation. I was confused, but could tell that their English was limited so I didn't question them about it. I hadn't come back because I found it odd that they switched off, but after a couple of years, and reading some of their more recent Yelp reviews, I decided to give them a try again. Wow, am I glad I did! I came in the afternoon on a weekday and the place was pretty quiet. The woman who massaged me did such a fabulous job that halfway though the massage I asked if she'd be able to give me a 90-minute one instead of a 60-minute one. I think it threw her pacing off a little, but she was free so she told me it was fine. The massage itself was perfect! Her pressure wasn't too weak or too strong. She also asked me to make sure that the pressure was good. That was very considerate! After the massage was over I wanted to buy 10 gift cards so I could get 2 free, like an ad on their counter said I could. The woman was confused though because I was trying to pay with a credit card. After a couple minutes of confusion I discovered that they don't accept credit. She asked if I could bring cash tomorrow. I thought I wouldn't be back in for a while, but I told her that was fine. So, I haven't been back here, but I do want to go back soon! Life gets so busy and I forget to pamper myself like I would like to sometimes. I've came here multiple times and have had good experiences before, but the massage I had today was horrible. First, we had a group of 3 and my massage started the latest. Then during my massage, the man left for around 3 minutes to talk on the phone and handle upcoming appointments. I thought that he would make up for it by massaging for an additional 3 minutes, but my massage actually ended earlier than the other 2 that I came there with. Not a fan. Been here twice. Both times the man massaging me, his hands smelled like straight seafood. Each time was a different guy. My initial experience was much better than my second. Although his hands were smelly, my massage was relatively relaxing. My second visit, omg this man was so aggressive. I left with slight bruising on both arms. I did ask him to take it easy which he complied for a little bit but sure enough he went back to pounding me like a slab of meat. Was not relaxing at all. My good friend and I made an appointment for 2 and upon walking in it already feels calming, you choose which package you'd like to receive. And guided to you're table which is a lower table with two separate pieces one for your upper body and legs, it's a great set up. The music is always just nice and relaxing to take deep breaths to. The woman that helped me was great she applied just the right amount of pressure to find all the knots in your shoulders and neck and legs then down to the feet before turning you over and working on your back placing your face into the convenient hole and breath comfortably as they work on your sciatica and even cracked my middle back. If I had a choice, I would leave 0 star because the service was horrendous and the massage itself was painful. I came with my husband because it was the closest massage place to our apartment and our bodies were stiff and sore after driving 2000 miles from across the country and from unloading furnitures. Chinese reflexology spots in most parts of the country are priced at $40-$60/hour, so we were shocked that this place only charged $20/hour (or better yet, $30/90 min!!!) I'm a firm believer of "you get what you paid for", so at this rate, I really wasn't expecting any luxury. But at the minimum, I do expect to be treated with curtesy and professionalism from any for-profit business. As a paying customer, I have chosen to endorse your establishment over your competitors and I believe that any sound business would choose to preserve the integrity of their products and services over below-the-market prices, because regardless of how cheaply they charge, there is no business if the customers' basic needs are not met. The basic needs of a massage customer are simply relaxation and a pleasant exchange. I got the opposite at Canna. Not only did the lady rough over my bones with her elbow, causing me a lot of pain, she also openly complained that I was the most difficult type of customer upon the ONE TIME that I politely asked her to go softer. More importantly, she was openly discussing her immigration status with another therapist as they worked, revealing that she is an unauthorized worker. I thought people keep quiet about something like this?! Understand that I don't personally have any issue with her working status and I'm not going to reference politics on a review platform. I get that you need to do what you need to do to provide for your family. Whatever the reason that brought you here, I applaud you for your hard work. But I do mind paying (even if it's cheap) for unlicensed "professional" service on my body that's causing me a lot of discomfort, and would be more concerned for someone with chronic health issues which is actually quite common among our general population. Furthermore, I wonder if this place is so cheap because they exploit undocumented workers, in which I want no part. 2nd time here and the massage felt even better. My sister and I initially went for a 60 min. massage ($20) but told them before we started that we wanted to extend to a 90 min. massage ($30) and they were fine with that. We went on a holiday so they were a bit busy but were able to accept an appointment when we called a few hours before. The massage itself was great and it was so relaxing that I fell asleep during the foot massage. They also include a foot scrub after the foot massage which kind of hurts but it's exfoliating so I just bear with it :) However, one thing I was unhappy about during this experience was that the guy massaging me was eating at the beginning of my massage. He was chewing his food while massaging my head and his hands smelled like rice cakes. It would've been a great experience if I went to experience food ASMR, but I just wanted a nice, quiet massage. I understand that they get tired and hungry, so breaks should be made available for them before the next appointment, especially since we made an appointment and they knew at least a few hours in advance. I noticed that he went to massage another customer immediately after massaging me. In addition, the massage therapists massaging my sister and me were both loud and constantly talking and laughing throughout the massage. Lastly, we were willing to give a 18% tip after all of this, but the lady at the front said "You should give $10 tip because it was a long massage." $10 tip is more than 30% of the massage price and was definitely not deserved after an experience like that, and I was shocked that she even asked for more tip which isn't mandatory in the first place. He made her very uncomfortable and got way to close to areas she did not want touched. Also, her body is now covered in bruises from him being to rough. She repeatedly told him he was to rough and he did not listen and continued. She is now in pain days later and left feeling violated. I have been coming here for years, but last night will have me thinking twice. First, I had made an appointment 2 days prior. They did not start on me until 15 minutes later. I was still going to tip because I'm in the industry myself and when I gave him a $20 and asked for change he gave me 2- $10 bills. NO WAY was he getting $10 from me, so I asked for a couple $5's. I don't usually mind if it is a male or female massaging me, as long as they are good and respectful. This man smelled like cigarettes, especially his hands.
