Ember at day play with the other doggies.

I don't know how this place has anything less than five stars. Weston took my insane dog and helped shape her into a well behaved (yet still insane) dog. You can sign up for training classes a la carte unlike many dog trainers where you have to pay for a multi week training for thousands of dollars. Canine also has boarding and day plays where you can drop your dog off for the day. Ember absolutely loves her day plays. It's her favorite place to be. I wish I could give Canine Purpose 10 stars.

We have know Weston and Elise for almost 10 years. They are very professional and very kind. They will listen to your concerns and address them. There grooming services and boarding, training is fabulous. Our dogs, especially our lab is in love with Weston. He jumped out the window when we we're about a 1/2 block from there place and ran like crazy to get there. (No more windows down lol) he is so in love with them. When we get another pup we will talk to Weston. Well worth the visit folks. They are both fabulous

The Max Chronicles A little over a month ago, we welcomed Max into our family, courtesy of the Placer SPCA. He arrived on medication, a suitcase full of "anxiety," and a diet that would make a nutritionist cringe (seriously, folks, avoid conventional kibble like the plague! It's a one-way ticket to disease and cancer town!). They warned us our 1-year-old fur baby came with a laundry list of issues. Fast forward, he is no longer on meds and we changed his diet #rawfood all the way. Before we discovered the oasis that is Canine Purpose, we sought advice from four other dog schools in the area. One even suggested we should medicate Max with anxiety meds like Xanax, increase the dosage, and adapt our lives to suit him‍ Imagine our stress at the thought of adjusting to a mixed German Shepherd-possibly Mali-working-high energy-dog! But we didn't settle, kept searching, and Bens Barkenplace pointed us towards Canine Purpose. I can't express enough gratitude to Jen and Weston for their help and support with our Crazy Max, Maximilian, Maximus, Maxi-Pad (LOL). There was a day when I felt my body was about to wave the white flag. We had clocked about 16,000 steps, and Max's leash-pulling antics were wreaking havoc on my shoulder and knees. With three surgeries under my belt, I thought, "Can I really do this?" Max was also reacting to everything from squirrels to dogs, jumping on me, and playing deaf. Fast forward to three reactive/obedience sessions later, and Max is doing splendidly :D I'm in awe of the dog psychology wizardry that Jen and Weston wield. I'm always trying to understand Max and eager to learn from them. I was really overwhelmed prior to Canine Purpose often telling myself that I was perhaps failing Max. In brief, don't hesitate to ask for help from Canine Purpose and ask questions. Max was the class clown (still kinda is), but Weston & Jen humble him real quick. It's pure magic, I tell you!! Thank you Weston & Jen

What an absolutely amazing place! I was a little apprehensive dropping my dog off for day training, but let me tell you, this place has exceeded all my expectations! After only one time, our 11 month old Blue Heeler puppy had already made great improvements to his behavior! Now we take him twice a week and we plan on continuing! The staff truly goes above and beyond, and they take pictures and videos of the progress, which is just an added bonus! Truly, an amazing place, It's a dog paradise with very well trained staff, that care about animals! Truly recommend for anybody who has a dog.

I can't say enough about how amazing the team at Canine Purpose is. We adopted a puppy earlier this year who needed a lot of confidence building and were looking for training throughout the area and were recommended Canine Purpose through a friend. We've now been going to weekly Obedience classes and day play for the past 4 months and it has made a substantial difference in our puppy's behavior and confidence. We love that each class focuses on different skills and everyone on the Canine Purpose team has been knowledgeable, kind and supportive. I couldn't recommend them enough!

    Indoor Rocklin Facility Day Train

Yet another glowing review for Canine Purpose! My Bodhi had a setback 4 months ago, in an at home incident where his dog-reactivity had spiked tremendously. My hopes were shot, we had come so far with him! Took it upon myself to turn to Canine Purpose for a Day Train session. THEY ARE MAGIC. These trainers are incredible, dedicated, and their knowledge is beyond anything I've seen. Bodhi spent all day with these trainers who took him out to multiple locations. Their indoor facility in Rocklin, an outdoor park, and Green Acres. They focused on his dog reactivity, heeling, and down stays. And to my surprise, Bodhi did amazing! I was followed up with a report card full of accomplishments, photos, and videos including things we can work on at home. I took Bodhi out for our first walk in a long time (I've been fearful with his reactivity) and NO REACTIONS! We passed multiple dogs and he stayed in a fantastic heel. Canine Purpose gives you the push when you're defeated. To the training staff that took the time on Bodhi, I couldn't be more grateful for you. A three mile walk at the park with no reactions??? I will throw my money at this facility. They deserve all the praise. We have done group classes, day plays, swim lessons, and now day trains and all have been wildly successful. Canine Purpose I owe you everything! Below are photos from Bodhi's report card

We LOVE canine purpose! All the staff members are wonderful and really know their stuff when it comes to training. I have been brining my puppy to group classes since he was about 6 months old. It has been such a great experience. He has learned so many neat things and the group classes have really shaped him into a wonderful dog. I love that the trainers take time, even within a group setting, to answer your questions and really make sure that you know how to properly execute commands and reward your dog at the correct times. We have had a wonderful experience with canine purpose and hope to continue learning more and more!

We have been taking my rough collie finny there for about a year and half. We attend classes and we board with Wes. Our sons Samoyed boards with them too. My dog comes back from boarding always relaxed and seems happy. I trust them to take good care of our animals Finny was having some reactive issues and not being as obedient as needed even after a lot of training prior Wes helped us a lot to get him less reactive and much more obedient. Finny loves Wes, and is always excited to see him. Wes has always gone above and beyond to accommodate us many times last min. He is kind and fun with the dogs yet they respect him. I look forward to our weekly classes. I feel its a great bonding and learning experience. Wes has also helped me so much with our formal heeling and getting prepared for dog sports. Wes is a great trainer and more than that he is a great person.

I love Canine Purpose! (and Elise and Weston and the Canine Purpose staff and family) I learned about Canine Purpose (CP) through my best friend who was using them for training and kenneling. I was looking for a dog to adopt and she mentioned that CP posted on their Instagram about a beagle mix named Marley. CP partners with Foothill Dog Rescue of the Sierras. I went to visit Marley and Elise gave me his background before she brought him out for me to meet him. She coached me on how to approach him so he can warm up to me and advised me of his triggers. I appreciated how honest she was about what Marley needed to work on based on his experience from his previous placement. CP let me visit Marley a handful more times over a few weeks time before I adopted him including spending some time with him during a group class to build our bond. CP made the adoption process smooth and it was very clear how much they invested in Marley and made sure they addressed any of my concerns. After I adopted him, Elise and Weston texted me the next day to see how Marley and I were doing. I mentioned some of his behaviors and they gave me some advice and were encouraging. Since adopting Marley, I have brought him to day play weekly and have kenneled him there as well. It's clear that Marley loves Elise and Weston and the CP family and staff. He comes home happy and gets excited in the car when I drop him off. I've done group classes as well where we get to observe what other dogs and fur parents are working on. It allows me to meet other fur parents and and network to swap stories and practices. It also allow our dogs to make friends and strengthen their social skills. Since having discovered CP, I have referred my brother to help his dog overcome separation anxiety and my colleague for his 2 new puppies for in kennel training. I accompanied my brother and his dog to their evaluation where Elise was very helpful and educational. She gave us background on the breed and their personalities and temperament. This helps in how we train our dogs and how to anticipate their behaviors and how they react to certain environments. My brother and I have come to CP with our dogs to split a private lesson. The extra attention and care is definitely worth it. Elise helps inform us about why our dogs behave in a certain way, how to anticipate their reaction, and help us reinforce to build good behavior. This attention and care is also evident in the rest of the CP staff. I have observed how attentive they are during group play and go the extra mile to know and learn about each dog. This continuity and consistency of service is an extension of Elise's and Weston's leadership and their commitment to their dog students and their families. A lot of the training is to train us as fur parents on how to effectively train our fur babies. It is our responsibility to practice and reinforce what we learned in our trainings/ classes. I'm disheartened to see the negative reviews that are based on assumptions. I have a lot of evidence that CP cares and loves my dog as much as I do. I wish and hope for other fur parents who are new to CP to have the same positive experience as my friends, brother, and I have. CP is a one stop shop for dog camp (day play), overnight stay, and don't forget grooming! And it is Marley's second family/ home. I can't thank Elise and Weston and their staff enough. Their love and care for Marley and their students are so evident. CP is a great place for dogs to learn, but also a great place for fur parents to grow and develop to be better trainers and parents for their dogs as well. Thank you Elise and Weston! Love, Genevieve & Marley

Now, our Houla has gone through basic obedience training a while back and knows commands, but just is a bit "independent" at times and it can be challenging. Nick was able to guide us on how to train our Houla, using verbal commands, non- verbal hand commands, available tools, and his vast experience. I swear he is a dog whisperer. Please remember, YOU have to do the work too. You cannot expect anyone to train up your dog and not put in the required effort to maintain and reinforce the training. We have been guilty of that in the past too. No more though! Our desire is to have a well trained k9, who consistently follows commands and is a valued part of our family pack. We believe in Nick to much that 1) we will enroll our Houla in additional programs Consistent K9 has to offer and 2) have already refused to be poached by another trainer! We are so pleased with how the training is going and with Consistent K9. Thank you Nick!!

Nick is a natural with dogs and makes it all look so easy, and with Mika being a high energy, smart, pushy pup, I thought Nick had his work cut out for him. Not for Nick. She loved him and responded well to him. Just as important, Nick is also great with people and communicates very well, helping you learn and understand what you're doing (or not doing) without rubbing you the wrong way. He's great to work with and a real pleasure to learn from. The techniques and methods I learned from Nick are priceless! My program was not only about training Mika, but also me. The skills Nick taught me I will continue to use as I work with Mika over the next few months and years. I highly recommend Nick and Consistent K9!!

Let me be clear, Kait is a miracle worker. No joke…read more We were looking for a dog trainer because our 1.5 year old pup had several bad habits we wanted to break. He pulled to an insane degree when we went on walks, he was prone to darting out the front door, and he jumped up on guests when they came to our house. Leash manners were my primary concern because sometimes our elderly family members liked to walk my dog, and I was afraid that the dog would pull so hard they would fall and injure themselves. I interviewed multiple reputable dog trainers in the area, but Kait was the only one who listened to my primary concerns and said she would address those right off the bat. The others seemed to have a pre-designed series of lessons and were not willing to deviate. To be clear, my husband had incredibly low expectations for dog training. He thought that our dog was so stubborn (he is) and his hunting instincts were so ingrained (they are) that he would always pull on a leash to keep sniffing for prey. My husband was convinced that this would be a waste of time and money. Kait came to our house for our first private lesson, and it's an understatement to say our expectations were low. Kait observed us interact with our dog, and even coined the term "sled dog" when watching him pull as we walked him down the street. She showed us some leash drills and then had us practice with him. By the end of the hour long lesson, the pulling was significantly better. Not gone, but it made it where we weren't using our body weight to hold him back just to get to the end of the block. I was impressed, but my husband was still skeptical. We ended up doing a total of 8 private lessons with Kait, and my dog's behavior has changed monumentally. We can walk him with a loose leash, and only a few occasional reminders during our walks. When he sees other dogs, he stares at them, but he doesn't try to lunge at them to play. If our front door is open, he stays back and doesn't dart away. He also rarely jumps up on people now. Most notably, after just a few lessons, my husband became an ardent believer in Kait's amazing dog training abilities. He now agrees that hiring Kait was one of the best things we did for our dog and our peace of mind. If I could give Kait 10 stars, I would! I have recommended her to as many people as I could, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again. With Kait's help, you absolutely will be amazed by your dog's improvement.
