Our boy Benny.
Megan L.

Nick was referred to us after we got a puppy and I'm so glad we found him. I've had cats all my life and knew absolutely nothing about raising a dog. You can read all the puppy books but when it comes down to it, having that hands on guidance specific to your situation is priceless. Nick is so patient, knowledgeable and he was great with our dog, Benny. We learned so much from him just from the basic puppy training and because of him Benny is already on the path to being an obedient part of the family. Can't say enough good things about Nick and this business. If you're looking for a trainer at any stage of your dogs life- this is the guy.

Nick is a very calm and considerate dog trainer. He not only provided education for why we were doing things but also flexibility to customize to our needs with a dog living on a farm and our love of hiking. He introduced other dogs to facilitate real life situations. We are pleased that we invested time and trust in Consistent K9.

I can't say enough about Nick . I came to him with my EXTREMELY REACTIVE pitbull puppy, Boogie. I had absolutely no confidence in Boogie or myself . Nick went out of his way to train Boogie and I with several one on one sessions and then allowed us to join group training sessions. By the end of our training , Boogie was going on group walks with other dogs and had so much more confidence. More importantly, I had more confidence in him!!! I wish we could continue our training with Nick, but we're relocating out of state ; otherwise, Nick would be Boogie's trainer FOR LIFE!!! Nick's calm and loving nature towards Boogie, and all the dogs, helped my Boogieman progress in such a short period of time. We still have a long way to go but I'm confident that we can get there with the foundation that Nick has taught us. If you're looking for a trainer who knows what they're doing, Consistent K-9 is the way to go- you will have NO REGRETS!!! Thank you so much Nick!!!!

I can not thank Nick, Marc, Vienna, and the whole consistent K9 family enough. As first time dog owners we were struggling to co exist with our Oslo. It wasn't his fault, we just didn't know anything about dog behavior and what to do. He was so rough and did not have any manors towards people or other animals. We decided to do the 5 week training and we saw results after the very first visit! I learn by what, why and how and nick and his team were able to explain everything. You can tell the love they have for animals. Now my dog listens, he can approach other dogs and is over all a happier pup. We still have a way to go because he is 10 months old but we look forward to continue training with consistent K9. I will refer any dog owner to them and will not go anywhere else!

Jett!
Chuck S.

My dog, Jett a Catahoula mix and I completed 6 obedience classes with Nick and I was very impressed how Jett improved over those 6 courses. This was one on one training for an hour each session. I became aware of some of the best techniques to get Jett to become a better dog. Nick met with us during a meet and greet and we discussed how things would go. I appreciate his low key attitude and how he interacted with both of us. We generally met at Maidu Park in Roseville, which was a nice location. We went through basic obedience commands to set up a good base to then learn some other more challenging commands. Each time Nick would ask me if I understood his instructions. We used a simple pinch collar for Jet as he can be a bit stubborn at times. We worked on things throughout the week as well! Our last lesson was at a Home Depot. This was very new setting for Jett, but he seemed to settle right on and I was pleased. Thanks Nick for all your help!

Vader (our pup) was a quick learner and we started the structure at home, but we wanted to help him out with extra training. So we reached out to Prestige K9, and the response was very quick and the phone call to discuss what we wanted out of training was refreshing. We had him boarded over Christmas and new years, even with the holidays the results show - Vader is very attentive, listens to his commands, and is still the fun field lab we dropped off! All of our friends and family are impressed, and we are now those dog owners where people ask "how did you do that" - prestige did it! Do note you still have to keep doing the stuff at home in your routine, but we are very impressed and I would like to note Javier and especially Ally for how well they worked with Vader. We did our first follow up with ally and she is great, she brought out her dog to help Vader train with distractions and they got to play a little. This is where you want to take your dog people! I put a pic of an update they sent us of Vader for Christmas, and a pic of Vader and ally's dog doing place. Thank you guys!

Update: While we cannot go back and time and change my experience with this boarding facility, they…read morehave been very gracious and willing to rectify the situation post-stay. They have explained that their communication system will be updated and they have re-trained newer staff. They even refunded the cost of my vet bill to get my dog's injured paw looked at. I believe Prestige truly cares about their customers and dogs, and once changes are implemented, they will be a great boarding facility. I think K-9 Prestige has the potential to be good, but they really need to improve their communication and staff training. The initial phone call with Chelsea was positive and fairly informative about the boarding process. I called a week later to officially confirm the booking, and instead of having someone call me back to confirm over the phone, they sent me a text with a link to confirm the booking and pay the $100 deposit. I could've (and in hindsight, I should've) called again to get more information and ask more questions before officially confirming, but I had faith in the high reviews so I figured it would be okay. Three weeks later, I dropped my dog off in the evening. The man who greeted me didn't ask me any questions about my dog except for how much food he eats and if I wanted him to be walked around the property every day. I asked if that was an additional charge, and he told me it was not. I also mentioned that my dog could not get his ears wet during the bath at the end of the stay due to ear infection medicine, and the man told me that he would put it in the notes. He then proceeded to leash my dog and start walking him to the back room. I had to ask, "Is that it?" because he couldn't possibly just be walking away from me with no further information about my dog's five-day stay with them. At this point I had major red flags, but I was leaving on a trip the next day and really needed a place for my dog to stay. So once again, I figured I would have faith in the high reviews and trust that my dog would be safe with this company. Three days before I picked my dog up, I called to confirm that it was indeed put in the notes that my dog could not get his ears wet during the bath. When I called, no one answered the phone, and they didn't have a voicemail claiming to be Prestige K-9 (it was a generic voicemail message). I thought this was weird, so I didn't leave a message and figured I would try again in an hour or so. A little bit later, I got a text from the same number asking if I had reached anyone or if I still needed help. A text in response to a phone call is not really professional in my opinion, but I texted back in case they did not have someone readily available at all times to answer phone calls. When I brought up the fact that my dog could not get his ears wet, no one had any idea about this. They assured me it would be put in the notes this time. I also asked for an update to see how my dog was doing because he's a very nervous puppy and I think it's fair for a dog owner to want to know how their beloved pet is doing away from home. I was told that a message would be sent to the care team and that I would hear back from them. This was very strange, as I expected a direct line to the people who were actively taking care of my dog. Two days went by and I heard nothing. The morning I picked up my dog, I called early to triple check that he would not get his ears wet during the bath, and luckily this time they were aware. When I picked up my dog, I found out that the daily walks are actually an additional charge and that my dog was not walked, nor let out of the kennel run, the entire five days he stayed there. They also let me know he got a cut on one of his paws (which I later found out upon inspection was actually two separate cuts on two different toes). I understand injuries can happen with nervous dogs when staying in new places, but they didn't seem to do anything about the cuts and they were still bleeding a lot when I picked him up. They also wanted me to pay before I even saw my dog, which was ridiculous considering they couldn't give me any update on my dog's well being over the previous three days. The handle on the food scoop we left with his food also came back broken, which is not a big deal; it just adds fuel to my irritation with this whole experience. The team I checked out with were apologetic and professional, claiming they were having issues with their communication system between the office and the caretaking team and that the employee I checked in with was new. But when I'm putting my dog's life in the hands of strangers, technology issues and poor employee training CANNOT be an excuse for bad communication and misinformation. I believe the employees here do care about dogs, but until this company gets their act together, I will absolutely not be taking my dog back here.

I've watched her transform from a bit of a wild puppy into an (I might be biased here) absolutely perfect dog. We learned all basic commands including sit, down, come, loose leash walking etc., and have since gone onto more complex commands such as emergency recalls, staying with distractions, etc. Outside of teaching our puppy, I've also been able to shed many bad habits that I had in terms of training. The classes definitely have structure to them, but the trainers also allow enough flexibility where they're sure to address any issues that you're having, or will take time to focus on a specific command that you're interested in. I'll definitely continue our training here and wouldn't even consider going somewhere else. Liz is incredibly knowledgeable and great at what she does, our puppy loves going to class and makes a huge fuss when she greets her. I've met Jennifer on a few occasions as well, and it's clear that she too is incredibly experienced.

Let me be clear, Kait is a miracle worker. No joke…read more We were looking for a dog trainer because our 1.5 year old pup had several bad habits we wanted to break. He pulled to an insane degree when we went on walks, he was prone to darting out the front door, and he jumped up on guests when they came to our house. Leash manners were my primary concern because sometimes our elderly family members liked to walk my dog, and I was afraid that the dog would pull so hard they would fall and injure themselves. I interviewed multiple reputable dog trainers in the area, but Kait was the only one who listened to my primary concerns and said she would address those right off the bat. The others seemed to have a pre-designed series of lessons and were not willing to deviate. To be clear, my husband had incredibly low expectations for dog training. He thought that our dog was so stubborn (he is) and his hunting instincts were so ingrained (they are) that he would always pull on a leash to keep sniffing for prey. My husband was convinced that this would be a waste of time and money. Kait came to our house for our first private lesson, and it's an understatement to say our expectations were low. Kait observed us interact with our dog, and even coined the term "sled dog" when watching him pull as we walked him down the street. She showed us some leash drills and then had us practice with him. By the end of the hour long lesson, the pulling was significantly better. Not gone, but it made it where we weren't using our body weight to hold him back just to get to the end of the block. I was impressed, but my husband was still skeptical. We ended up doing a total of 8 private lessons with Kait, and my dog's behavior has changed monumentally. We can walk him with a loose leash, and only a few occasional reminders during our walks. When he sees other dogs, he stares at them, but he doesn't try to lunge at them to play. If our front door is open, he stays back and doesn't dart away. He also rarely jumps up on people now. Most notably, after just a few lessons, my husband became an ardent believer in Kait's amazing dog training abilities. He now agrees that hiring Kait was one of the best things we did for our dog and our peace of mind. If I could give Kait 10 stars, I would! I have recommended her to as many people as I could, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again. With Kait's help, you absolutely will be amazed by your dog's improvement. Hire this woman before her schedule books up!

Aaron came to my house and introduced our dogs by having them meet and walk past each other. My dog was clearly agitated but didn't growl. Within minutes my dog and his German Shepard got into a fight. He clearly did NOT know what do (neither did I, that's why I hired a professional) and told me to "stick my finger in her butt" (this doesn't work, in case you were wondering). It was traumatizing for both me and my dog who has now been set back in her training and is even more untrusting of other dogs. There was a hose about 3 feet away from us but hindsight is 20/20. He does not believe in prong collars but may want to reconsider for certain dogs.
