In January of 2026, I started bringing my then eight month old Pit Bull rescue puppy to Fidelis K9 Training after looking on Yelp for local dog training recommendations. It's been over three months and I can officially say, she has become our best trained dog ever! I am so glad I made the decision. I have never experienced ongoing training that includes classes throughout the week on a flexible schedule. Because of this flexibility, training has easily become part of our routine (we go about 3 times per week). I wasn't sure what to expect bringing in my two German Shepherds, ages 5 and 3. Before signing up, I asked to meet with the staff, and they immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. I enrolled my dogs, and to my surprise, they showed progress on their walks almost right away. I have a 4mo doberman puppy who went to her first class yesterday. I was hesitant about bringing my 3yo son with me but he really wanted to see our puppy "at school". The staff, Antonio, was super patient with us and let my son feel included in the whole process. My son held on to treats and was allowed to help reward our puppy for her good behavior. Everyone in the class praised my son for being a great helper and i know he felt so proud! This morning I went out with our pup and practiced what we just learned last night and she did great! My son came out to play too and she was completely obedient and not distracted by him at all! She sat calmly next to me for over an hour while he played, when before she started training, would try to steal his toys and did lots of jumping. Our goal with our dog is to incorporate her as part of the family. I want her to be safe with my kids and vise versa and im so grateful they allowed me to bring my kids so we can start to do just that! read more

Recently took a trip to Monterey and the hotel we stayed at was dog friendly. Walking through the lobby Kono was always by my side not acting up. So glad we found this place. Owner Patrick is super nice and easy to work with. He met my dog Milo (Shepherd/Husky mix) and he recommended a plan to get him to meet my goals. We started off with a 10 day board which was optional. This board allowed my dog to learn the foundations and basic commands. After the board we followed up with group classes which he has available all throughout the week at multiple times. You show up whenever is convenient for you. I have been taking my dog at least once a week for an hour group class and he has exceeded my expectations. I can leave him in a sit/stay for as long as I need. I can get him to go to a place and lay down. I can now greet other owners and dogs without my dog freaking out and being vocal. I owe all of this praise to K9 Fidelis. I highly recommend if you have a dog to at least go check out a group class. Patrick is easy to work with and you can schedule a meet and greet or a drop-in with a simple text message or email to the business. My family is so appreciative of Fidelis. We rescued our dog pumpkin who came from an abusive home so she is a highly reactive dog. She would bark and lunge at unknown people and animals. This review is a PSA "buyer beware". Last April, I contacted Patrick to hire him for training our 2 dogs. He requested the full amount for 5 private sessions, and 5 group sessions which I paid. He did not mention that if we discontinued training (for whatever reason) he would not refund the unused portion of the amount paid. No where on his website is this mentioned either. Had I known this was his policy, I would have opted to pay for sessions as I used them. While he will still honor our remaining sessions, he will not refund the unused amount. Again, this should have been disclosed prior to him taking payment and I would be giving him a wonderful review and recommend him to others. My puppy Jake has been attending puppy school with Fidelis K9 since July. He loves it. This last Saturday, Jake was being fearful all day. That night he was refusing to come in the house. I texted Patrick for suggestions on what to do. I didn't want to make him worse. Patrick texted back some suggestions pretty quickly. We finally got Jake in the house. On Monday morning he was exhibiting fear again. When I dropped Jake off, Brad listened to what happened over the weekend and that morning. He said he would work with him that day. At pick up time, Brad took the time to explain what he did that day and the plan for the rest of the week. He even gave me homework. The other two trainers, Leilani and Ethan, have both worked with us in private training sessions. Each one gave me tips and tricks that are specific to Jake. Yes, they know all the dogs. I wasn't sure of putting a review but seeing the most current review falls along the lines of my experience I felt compelled. I signed up for a two week drop off with 6 weeks of group classes and two private classes. I didn't even bother completing the program because of the unprofessional conduct of the team. It began with all the promises of updates, videos, and homework during the two week drop off that never happened. I got I think 3 videos after raising my concerns. The drop off and pick off was crazy and frustrating including on two occasions dogs getting lose outside of the contained area. The group classes didn't seem that productive particularly because there were some HIGHLY AGGRESSIVE Dogs that would be a constant distraction. My final straw was that on when I kept having to move from being downwind from one of the trainers who was smoking (AGAIN) during the group training. The only time I saw Patrick which is when he pitched me on the program and he called me when vented some frustration about the lack of any communication. It's also pretty disappointing that they seem to be constantly running "specials" at discounts over what some of us paid literally days before. Overall a very unpleasant and VERY unprofessional experience. read more

Love this place. Been taking my Rhodesian Ridgeback here as soon as he had all his shots. They've done an amazing job teaching him obedience, leash control, focus, etc. On my first meeting with the owner he asked what I was looking for in dog training. I wrote a review once before but feel that I should write another one. I was finally able to sign my dog up for training with Patrick, and in just 2 days he's been able to have her around distractions without her acting like a crazy girl. I was really concerned when I saw the other dogs staying in place on mats. I was like, there is no way my dog will do that for a decent amount of time. For a short amount of time, sure, but she's going to try to play with every dog in the room and not pay attention. Well I was wrong. She is doing fantastic. I'm very happy with the results so far. I know it's only been a few days but I see lots of positive things. I also love that Patrick sends little videos and update of the training sessions during the day. Would give a 2.5 star if they had it. It started off well. We were excited and pleased at first. Clean facility and Patrick was very cool. Unfortunately, due to a very tough personal issue, I was about 15 minutes late for drop off one morning (the only time I had ever dropped off late). Patrick's assistant was very cold and rude toward me about it. He yelled rudely, "drop off is at 9!" Then disappeared into the building for a pretty long awkward minute. I was confused as to if that meant to take my dogs back home? ... which honestly pissed me off. When he finally came to talk to me, I told him I was sorry we were late and that's it been a shi**y morning so far. He sarcastically said "wow a shi**y morning already by 9 am?". I get it , I was late and that is annoying but it was one time and he had no idea what I had gone through that morning so a little tiny bit of empathy would have been cool or maybe just him not being super rude and sarcastic, especially with another client behind me (which he did not seem to get the same crap from the employee that I did...). Basically, I did not feel comfortable going back there after that. I made my fiancé bring my two dogs to the rest of the drop offs and group sessions all by himself because of that. Please note , this review is based off of the assistant guy , not Patrick or any of the younger employees. They were all welcoming and wonderful. The dogs improved quite a bit. I reached back out to them recently because one of my dogs, one who they had trained a few months back started acting more aggressive towards dogs. I texted them to see if they could help us since we had invested 2 dogs worth of money into their company. Never heard anything back. We decided to spend our money else where and go with jpk9 Academy. They have been very welcoming so far. EDIT: Patrick reached out to me and let me know that the assistant guy is no longer with them. Without him, I think this is a great facility with a great staff. He explained that he was on vacation when I had text him about my aggressive dog. I can forgive that. Life happens.
