It's been over three months and I can officially say, she has become our best trained dog ever! I am so glad I made the decision. I have never experienced ongoing training that includes classes throughout the week on a flexible schedule. Because of this flexibility, training has easily become part of our routine (we go about 3 times per week). My puppy looks forward to it as do I!  Fidelis K9 also offers Good Canine Citizen (GCC) certification which we are currently working towards.  Most importantly: a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Alejandra and Antonio, the trainers, who I feel are the heart of the training facility. She showed us the best ways to work on calming things down when visitors arrive, and also provided ways our children can help be involved training - and making sure our dogs are responding to small children in appropriate ways. She had so much knowledge to share, and seemed to pick up on their personalities very quickly. I am so grateful we were able to get on her calendar so quick after her year of traveling. Anna gave us so many tools that our girl ACTUALLY responded to. She brought out the sweet dog that we see all the time, but others don't because of how excited and anxious she gets over everything. Vader (our pup) was a quick learner and we started the structure at home, but we wanted to help him out with extra training. So we reached out to Prestige K9, and the response was very quick and the phone call to discuss what we wanted out of training was refreshing. We had him boarded over Christmas and new years, even with the holidays the results show - Vader is very attentive, listens to his commands, and is still the fun field lab we dropped off! All of our friends and family are impressed, and we are now those dog owners where people ask "how did you do that" - prestige did it! Do note you still have to keep doing the stuff at home in your routine, but we are very impressed and I would like to note Javier and especially Ally for how well they worked with Vader. We did our first follow up with ally and she is great, she brought out her dog to help Vader train with distractions and they got to play a little. This is where you want to take your dog people! Kristen helped train my dogs. I have two dogs. One (Sansa) is a pitbull the other (Sadie) is half…read morepitbull. Both are very stubborn, but very smart. She was able to figure out a way to get through to them and help me learn how to manage two different personalities, ages (senior & an 8yr old) with one having limited abilities and the other running/jumping/hyper. Issue 1) walking them.. sadie the eight-year-old was very energetic and wanted to run or walk very fast. She tended to pull a lot. Sansa The senior, 12-year-old girl walked slowly and very close to me to where I would keep tripping over her so I needed her to learn space. Kristen admittedly said this was difficult to have two very differing dogs and one person walking both of them especially since I have physical limitations myself with struggling from fibromyalgia. She set up an appointment for us to go to A walking trail and worked with us on that, and additionally another issue Sadie was having. Issue 2) when I would take Sansa and Sadie for walks on the trails that were busy Sadie would often bark and spin in circles when a bike would ride past us. I wanted help with this behavior. Kristen was able to find a way to help subdue her reaction. Issue 3) One of the people we live with is very obnoxious and the dogs bark at him every time he enters the room. They don't do this with any other person. I asked her to come to my home to evaluate the situation. She nailed it right on the head what the problem was. She spoke with this person to give him insight into how his behavior was affecting the dogs. Her ability to get through to not only the dogs, but people as well is amazing! He actually heard her! He is a very difficult person to talk to so I was impressed! She also helped trained us to not reward them when they barked at him (which I didn't realize I was doing by letting them stay on the couch & petting them.) I thought I was calming them, but she pointed out it's rewarding what they're doing. So now I get them off the couch when they bark & treat them when they don't. This helped quite a bit. Not only is she knowledgeable but she is very upbeat and positive. She is very sweet and takes her time with you and the dogs. I highly recommend her and we would hire her again! Back in July 2022, my husband and I decided to adopt a 9-month-old American Staffordshire Terrier from the SPCA. This poor guy was malnourished, neglected, and, we assume, abused. Despite his difficult past, he remained the sweetest and most endearing pup you could ever meet. However, due to being confined to a kennel for most of his early life, he lacked impulse control, had no understanding of proper dog manners, and became easily overwhelmed by the mere act of being outside. After encountering numerous false starts with trainers who lacked confidence, insisted on weeks of teaching him his new name (which he already knew along with a few basic commands), or relied heavily on negative reinforcement, we were starting to lose hope. Fortunately, a friend recommended Coffey House. Recognizing the need for both our dog and ourselves to be properly trained, we opted for the day-train program. From the very first session, we witnessed a remarkable improvement. Of course, he wasn't perfect overnight, but after completing her day-train program, attending additional classes, and committing ourselves to, as of now, 7 months of consistent work, we finally feel confident taking him out for walks and running short errands. We can now walk past other dogs without experiencing the previous meltdowns. It's hard to put into words how much progress we've made since that initial phone call, when we had almost given up hope of ever being able to take our dog for a simple walk. Not only is Kelli exceptional with dogs, but she is also an incredible person. Our training sessions with her were truly enjoyable, and we continue to stay in touch, sharing little photos of our dog's achievements with her. I must admit, our dog absolutely adores her. Heidi with Canefida is amazing!…read more I originally signed up for her class last year a couple months after I adopted my dog Lobo. I was only able to attend the first session before I had to drop out because his neuter surgery got moved up unexpectedly. Fast forward about a year later, we were finally able to come back and complete the training -- and I'm really glad we did. Heidi is very kind, patient, and clearly knows what she's doing. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense and takes the time to help both the dogs and the owners feel comfortable. Lobo absolutely loved her and was always excited to see her. Our class was right after her puppy class, so I got to watch for a few minutes, and she was just as great with the puppies and their owners. You can tell she really cares and wants people to succeed with their dogs. Lobo's review: "she gives directions, I listen, I get rewarded... 10/10 would attend again."
