She took the time to come to the home and listen to all concerns and what you're hoping for. This is great as not all trainers are willing to do that. In two weeks, my dog is walking so well on the leash now our walks are actually enjoyable. Before, I actually had to stop walking him because I could no longer handle him on the leash as he grew larger and stronger. In other ways I will say he is not much changed. He barks at other dogs sometimes still on walks and still is too close in your face when we eat food and some other particulars that I had hoped would change. I recommend their dog training if you have a specific area you want to change like walking on a leash. You will be happy to see a change in that but maybe not a big change in obedience in general.

My dog was probably one of the last dogs before they closed the location. After more than 3 years,…read moreI still regret so much for taking my dog there. I adopted my dog and he was extremely nervous. Zero contact with humans since he was born. Only like other dogs. I left him 2 weeks initially but Tierney would tell me that he needs one more week and he ended up being 5 weeks there. I cooked and gave them his homemade food. I provided the food for the whole time there. I was not able to visit him and they brought him back to my house. When I saw him, I was shock. He was in his bones. I could see all this skeleton. She said that he just didn't eat a lot. ...why didn't they call me ? Then, in the house with the handover of my dog, she acted like a Military, basically my dog fear her. I didn't even want to see trick that she showed him" because I could see the dog was suffering only with her presence. She left and I was glad that at least I had my dog back. I had to take him to vet to check and he was in extremely bad health condition. I gave her my dog perfectly healthy. I really regret taking my dog here and I recommend that if your dog is humble and afraid dog, don't take them here. This is not the place for those type of dogs. After this training, he didn't change at all- still bark, still pull and more afraid of people than before .

I have gone back and forth about writing this review, because I know small business owners need…read moresupport. It is actually been sitting in my draft folder for a few years, However, I feel like I want to share my experience. I had rescued a cattle dog who was a good boy but was afraid of everything (he had lived in a kennel for most of his life) and needed some work walking on a leash and some recall. I booked a 2 week Bootcamp with Tierney, and I was told by Justine - her partner that lived on the East Coast - that it was perfect timing because my boy would be the only dog. Apparently, Tierney was moving, but said she had plenty of time to work with my boy. What I didn't know - and was not divulged when I signed up - was the the move was an hour away! (And they actually did have a second dog they were working with). This means a 2 hour round-trip, not including loading and unloading and pit-stops. My boy was a pretty easy dog - and he did not get the training that I paid for. I voiced my concerns, especially when I came up for a visit lesson and noticed not much improvement. They said she would keep him for an extra week. The second issue I had was a lack of communication. I got a handful of photos and that was it. It was always me having to reach out to find out what was going on with my dog. Super frustrating! I mean, I am trusting you with my baby and you can't update me? Nothing on the Facebook page, nothing on Instagram, and only a few photos through Messenger. And that was after three weeks of having my dog. And then with the follow up sessions...there was always some reason why she had to re-schedule. I get it, life happens, but it just got so frustrating trying to constantly reschedule sessions that I was supposed to get, that I ended up just finally canceling on the last one. All of the things that I received back that I dropped off with him, it was either super dirty and smelly, or didn't get it back at all. Hopefully things will get better, and hope they are at better facilities than when I was there, from a duplex when I dropped him off, to picking him up in a barn they were living in, with no bathroom any indoor space away from dirt. I do hope things get better for her, because I think she has skills with working with dogs, but definitely need to work on organization, punctuality and communication. (I gave two stars instead of one because I was trying to be nice, but I know several people were not happy but didn't post reviews so I felt like there should be one representing those of us who had bad experiences instead of just all the five star reviews that are there now)

She was able to figure out a way to get through to them and help me learn how to manage two different personalities, ages (senior & an 8yr old) with one having limited abilities and the other running/jumping/hyper. Issue 1) walking them.. sadie the eight-year-old was very energetic and wanted to run or walk very fast. She tended to pull a lot. Sansa The senior, 12-year-old girl walked slowly and very close to me to where I would keep tripping over her so I needed her to learn space. Kristen admittedly said this was difficult to have two very differing dogs and one person walking both of them especially since I have physical limitations myself with struggling from fibromyalgia. She set up an appointment for us to go to A walking trail and worked with us on that, and additionally another issue Sadie was having. Issue 2) when I would take Sansa and Sadie for walks on the trails that were busy Sadie would often bark and spin in circles when a bike would ride past us. I wanted help with this behavior. Kristen was able to find a way to help subdue her reaction. Issue 3) One of the people we live with is very obnoxious and the dogs bark at him every time he enters the room. They don't do this with any other person. I asked her to come to my home to evaluate the situation. She nailed it right on the head what the problem was. She spoke with this person to give him insight into how his behavior was affecting the dogs. Her ability to get through to not only the dogs, but people as well is amazing! He actually heard her! He is a very difficult person to talk to so I was impressed! She also helped trained us to not reward them when they barked at him (which I didn't realize I was doing by letting them stay on the couch & petting them.) I thought I was calming them, but she pointed out it's rewarding what they're doing. So now I get them off the couch when they bark & treat them when they don't. This helped quite a bit. Not only is she knowledgeable but she is very upbeat and positive. She is very sweet and takes her time with you and the dogs. I highly recommend her and we would hire her again! Thanks Kristen you're the best!!

Heidi with Canefida is amazing!…read more I originally signed up for her class last year a couple months after I adopted my dog Lobo. I was only able to attend the first session before I had to drop out because his neuter surgery got moved up unexpectedly. Fast forward about a year later, we were finally able to come back and complete the training -- and I'm really glad we did. Heidi is very kind, patient, and clearly knows what she's doing. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense and takes the time to help both the dogs and the owners feel comfortable. Lobo absolutely loved her and was always excited to see her. Our class was right after her puppy class, so I got to watch for a few minutes, and she was just as great with the puppies and their owners. You can tell she really cares and wants people to succeed with their dogs. Lobo's review: "she gives directions, I listen, I get rewarded... 10/10 would attend again." We paid for 10 lessons and got 9. That never happened! We rescued a Pit Bull that had no socialization because she was tied to a tree the first year of her life. She didn't have hair around her neck when we got her. She was quick to get house trained when we got her. She was great about only chewing on her toys and only her toys. I had worked with her on sit, stay, come, and lay down and knew these commands before we started with Sit Happens. Our problem was that she was a "reactive dog." She would start barking, howling, crying when she saw other dogs. So what we wanted out of a dog trainer was to teach us/her how to deal with her in these situations. We called a very popular dog training place and they put us on a waitlist. It was about two months out. We were at the dog park and saw the ad for "Sit Happens" and I gave them a call. They were quick to come out. Frank, the owner came out for our initial meeting. We went through our concerns with our dog and what we wanted out of our training. He promised that we would be able to be able to take her to a local store or park without her having to be so vocal and be obedient. He gave us the run down of what it was going to cost. We paid over $1300 for ten lessons, we only got 9. They were suppose to set up the last lesson, no phone call or follow-up. It's been over 9 months! We only saw Frank, the owner on the initial meeting and to collect the money. He sold us on what we thought was a great program to teach our dog to not be so reactive, We thought Frank was going to be our trainer but it was more of a "Bait and Switch" for us. We were very mislead. We got his assistant as a trainer and TBH, we only had less than 15 minutes of hands on training and 45 minutes of random conversation about her life. I think we've been very patient and flexible. We've worked on our dog on our own. We've learned that you don't need to spend $1300 on an E Collar and not have the support and training you have paid for! We feel so ripped off that we don't want to try contacting any other trainer. This experience has us not being able to believe other trainers. I'm being very generous giving them 2 star! I would've been more than happy if the owner, Frank would've at least contacted us to follow up but he was MIA after he got paid. There was never any follow through. I wish I had just gone through and went with the first trainer instead because they have a lot of satisfied customers.
