I even asked her to babysit real quick while I grabbed food next door. When I came back, the staff suggested that I contact Aaron from Intuitive Dog Training. Boy am I glad I did. I just had a puppy training with Aaron and boy am I psyched to practice what I learned. Aaron was so patient while he answered all my questions. He was also so focused on me and the dog. I was so impressed with his knowledge and creativeness. I took notes and all I need to do is purchase a few dog toys (teething kind), sod, bell, etc. I am enrolling in the puppy training course and also the adult courses. His price is amazingly affordable. You should definitely contact him or attend his classes. I definitely recommend Aaron.

I do not recommend Intuitive dog training for aggressive dogs…read more I adopted a pit bull from the shelter and did not want to take her out into public until I worked with a trainer at home. Aaron came to my house and introduced our dogs by having them meet and walk past each other. My dog was clearly agitated but didn't growl. Within minutes my dog and his German Shepard got into a fight. He clearly did NOT know what do (neither did I, that's why I hired a professional) and told me to "stick my finger in her butt" (this doesn't work, in case you were wondering). It was traumatizing for both me and my dog who has now been set back in her training and is even more untrusting of other dogs. There was a hose about 3 feet away from us but hindsight is 20/20. He does not believe in prong collars but may want to reconsider for certain dogs.

After completing the Puppy Training package (about 4 sessions) we continued on with the ecollar training package (an additional 4 sessions I believe) and she just graduated the other day! My puppy knows place, recall, perfectly walking on leash, all the important commands, and overall how to be an everywhere dog that we can take with us to bars, restaurants, parks & more. We are constantly told how well behaved our puppy is and it is simply because we brought her to Ashley early on and his training helped shape her into the perfect dog she is today. I am SO grateful to Ashley for helping get our girl to be our forever everywhere dog. Do yourself a favor and go to ASHLEY!!!!

A lifesaver for our aggressive/anxiety ridden golden doodle!!…read more Gold Hill Canine has been an absolute game changer for us and our 2 year old golden doodle. Our experience with Ashley and his team has been nothing short of extraordinary- we couldn't be more grateful for the transformation they brought us. For the past year and a half we have been dealing with an anxious/aggressive/fearful dog who brought so much stress and anxiety into our lives. Every time we left the house it was an ordeal. We couldn't go on a walk or anywhere without our dog making a scene with both people and dogs. We exhausted many many options including professional dog trainers and a highly ranked behavior program at the SFSPCA where our dog was put on a variety of medications that showed little progress. We got to the point where we were so frustrated and didn't know what else to do in order to help our dog and we came across Gold Hill Canine. After our first phone call with Ashley we knew that he could help us. After sending our dog to Gold Hills 3 week training rehab program - hudson "the golden doodle" came back an entirely different dog. He can finally relax and be calm in his own space and experience the outside world with peace. We are much more confident dog owners after learning from Ashley and feel we can live a normal life with Hudson finally. We are forever grateful for Ashley and his team!!

He's very spoiled and gets separation anxiety (and me too...) so I wanted the best for him. I was considering Pets Hotel until i found out that they crate their dogs most of the day and barely play outside. Ollie doesn't like crates and loves to be around humans and other dogs. So, I did my research and came across Maisy's Mutts! We did a meet and greet 3 weeks before I had to leave for the weekend and it went great. I felt SO comfortable leaving Ollie with the family and Manni kept me updated every day with pictures which definitely helped with my separation anxiety (LOL!). Ollie loves them and he had so much fun with Maisy and their other furry friend. Manni is definitely my go-to boarding place!!!

Ugh! I really didn't want to post this review. I gave Sit Happens enough time( over 9 months) to…read moreget in contact with us at least to check in and make our last appointment. We paid for 10 lessons and got 9. That never happened! We rescued a Pit Bull that had no socialization because she was tied to a tree the first year of her life. She didn't have hair around her neck when we got her. She was quick to get house trained when we got her. She was great about only chewing on her toys and only her toys. I had worked with her on sit, stay, come, and lay down and knew these commands before we started with Sit Happens. Our problem was that she was a "reactive dog." She would start barking, howling, crying when she saw other dogs. So what we wanted out of a dog trainer was to teach us/her how to deal with her in these situations. We called a very popular dog training place and they put us on a waitlist. It was about two months out. We were at the dog park and saw the ad for "Sit Happens" and I gave them a call. They were quick to come out. Frank, the owner came out for our initial meeting. We went through our concerns with our dog and what we wanted out of our training. He promised that we would be able to be able to take her to a local store or park without her having to be so vocal and be obedient. He gave us the run down of what it was going to cost. We paid over $1300 for ten lessons, we only got 9. They were suppose to set up the last lesson, no phone call or follow-up. It's been over 9 months! We only saw Frank, the owner on the initial meeting and to collect the money. He sold us on what we thought was a great program to teach our dog to not be so reactive, We thought Frank was going to be our trainer but it was more of a "Bait and Switch" for us. We were very mislead. We got his assistant as a trainer and TBH, we only had less than 15 minutes of hands on training and 45 minutes of random conversation about her life. I think we've been very patient and flexible. We've worked on our dog on our own. We've learned that you don't need to spend $1300 on an E Collar and not have the support and training you have paid for! We feel so ripped off that we don't want to try contacting any other trainer. This experience has us not being able to believe other trainers. I'm being very generous giving them 2 star! I would've been more than happy if the owner, Frank would've at least contacted us to follow up but he was MIA after he got paid. There was never any follow through. I wish I had just gone through and went with the first trainer instead because they have a lot of satisfied customers.

This is extremely overdue (like, close to a year.. I'm so sorry Tierney!)…read more Working with Tierney was a wonderful experience! She is extremely knowledgeable about all things dog training and it shows. I'm so glad we didn't try and teach our dog on our own, it's been a big learning experience for us. Our dog Mishka is fairly sensitive, when we originally started to try one training approach Tierney quickly saw that it wasn't right, and pivoted to a different approach. That's been working great and we have seen such amazing improvements with Mishka since starting training. We can't thank Tierney enough! She's also was very flexible and accommodating to our time/budget/etc. to make training possible.

My dog was probably one of the last dogs before they closed the location. After more than 3 years,…read moreI still regret so much for taking my dog there. I adopted my dog and he was extremely nervous. Zero contact with humans since he was born. Only like other dogs. I left him 2 weeks initially but Tierney would tell me that he needs one more week and he ended up being 5 weeks there. I cooked and gave them his homemade food. I provided the food for the whole time there. I was not able to visit him and they brought him back to my house. When I saw him, I was shock. He was in his bones. I could see all this skeleton. She said that he just didn't eat a lot. ...why didn't they call me ? Then, in the house with the handover of my dog, she acted like a Military, basically my dog fear her. I didn't even want to see trick that she showed him" because I could see the dog was suffering only with her presence. She left and I was glad that at least I had my dog back. I had to take him to vet to check and he was in extremely bad health condition. I gave her my dog perfectly healthy. I really regret taking my dog here and I recommend that if your dog is humble and afraid dog, don't take them here. This is not the place for those type of dogs. After this training, he didn't change at all- still bark, still pull and more afraid of people than before .

We used to go to Happiness Country Kennels when in Fremont until we moved in 2014 and then had a bizarre experience with them. Then we had Zelda and our kitties at Waiterock Kennels in Lafayette until this year. About 4 months ago or so we had to go on a trip to see family, where a family member across the country was ill. We prepared well in advance and reserved at Waiterock for our pups and two cats but when Simba went for his "evaluation" he flunked. Evidently they put him in a cage alone and he tried to climb out of it, I suggested doing another evaluation while Simba was with Zelda -- with whom he has spent all his time since he was 3 months old and would be sharing a kennel. Interestingly, they said they typically separate dogs from the same home in the play yard so Simba had to be evaluated alone. Well, this left us in a bind, I had to see my ailing sister and wondered if I'd have to leave my family here -- enter Doggy Day Care. I called, brought my dogs by so they could meet them and it was love at first sight! Thank you Waiterock for forcing us to find Doggy Day Care, our new place for the pups! And I feel so much better about Zelda and Simba being in more of a home setting. They take the dogs for fun trips, swimming, hiking so we feel like they are getting a bit of a vacation while staying at Doggy Day Care -- and DDC does a great job cutting their nails. They had met him many times before, they are familiar with his behavior. The day before I get back from the last stay, I hear from them that he's kinda down and probably just misses me. I come home the next day. He is a PUDDLE of dog on the ground, he can barely walk. He is so out of it, a fool could see he's extremely sick and someone that knew him well ESPECIALLY should. She's handing me his toys and I'm utterly stunned she's acting like nothing is happening. I had to get help getting him into the car because he could not get himself in due to how weak he was. Those steps to my car were the last he ever walked. I took him straight to the closest open vet hospital, a full 20 minutes away, where they had to wheel him in on a gurney, they worked on him for 20 minutes but he died on table. His stomach flipped as can happen in big dogs. My vet, who received the paperwork from the vet he died at, said if she had acted 24-48 hours before, he could have lived. A TRAINER, BOARDER, and BREEDER either grew stupid or knew he was in distress and didn't give a damn. He was 150 lbs, and the closest vet was closed because it was a Saturday, so I'm guessing they were just incredibly lazy. They had my credit card on file, and paperwork signed, in the case he needed veterinary treatment. I have spent years trying to figure out why they wouldn't do anything. I told my neighbor, who bought a dog from them, who said they also have access to mobile vets. A thousand options and not one of them was take the dog to the damn vet. Stay away from them. They used to have a good reputation in the area, but as I have been spreading my story widely and hearing feedback, that's obviously not the case anymore
