Before booking, my dog completed her evaluation day at Folsom Dog Resort, and everything went very well. Based on that experience, we signed up both my dog and my daughter's dog for boarding from June 4 through June 8. When I picked them up on June 8, my dog initially seemed fine. However, my daughter's dog had just vomited a large amount of water when they brought her out. Later that day, my dog also didn't seem herself. She stopped eating and then developed diarrhea. When I checked in with my daughter, her dog was experiencing similar symptoms. I called Folsom Dog Resort to express my concerns. Unfortunately, the person who took my call did not seem particularly interested in the situation, and I never received any follow-up communication. My daughter ended up taking her dog to the veterinarian and is still waiting to learn what caused the illness. My dog has still not fully recovered. Because of this experience, I will not be bringing my dog back.

I have used other trainers in the past and this is by far the most progress I have seen out of my dog, Skippy. Before skippy was always pulling on her leash but now is starting to walk by my side. We have done about 3 classes so far and plan to do more! I can't wait to see how much further skippy can advance. Reminder you also have to put in the work. It's been over three months and I can officially say, she has become our best trained dog ever! I am so glad I made the decision. I have never experienced ongoing training that includes classes throughout the week on a flexible schedule. Because of this flexibility, training has easily become part of our routine (we go about 3 times per week). My puppy looks forward to it as do I!  Fidelis K9 also offers Good Canine Citizen (GCC) certification which we are currently working towards.  Most importantly: a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Alejandra and Antonio, the trainers, who I feel are the heart of the training facility. I brought my dog to her home, she checked him out, we talked about wants, needs, concerns, goals, training plan, cost etc... we decided to do her in house program where she has your dog stay with her for a month and is trained the entire time. Ursula sent us pictures and progress updates daily, it was great! Our dog was not just trained but also taken care of and loved his entire stay there. When the month came to an end and our dog's training was done she delivered him back to our home and did a 2 hour training session in our own home to show us how to continue to handle/train with him. Come to find out, not all trainers are created equal, as they were going to use a shock collar on my puppy. I couldn't even believe it! Eden and her employee Jess use a positive training approach....encouraging good behavior with rewards and praise and discouraging the unwanted behaviors by re-focusing the dog back into a desirable behavior. Because Blue lived with her at her clean, puppy-safe home, she not only taught him the basics but also more advanced training like recall and "leave it". She incorporated day-to-day living into his training, teaching him the skills needed to be a generally well behaved 7 month old puppy that actually respects the other small dogs in our household!
