I thought it would be a good idea to walk from the St. Paul farmers market to Candyland as it's just under a mile, terrible mistake (does not affect/reflect my star rating, just my general experience). Dt St. Paul is disgustingly dirty so by time I reached Candyland I was too grossed out and couldn't even order anything. Plus it was a bit hot outside and I didn't want to order candy that would melt on the walk back. My mom did end up ordering popcorn and chocolate covered peanuts which she enjoyed. She said the popcorn wasn't super fresh but it was good. They have such a good variety of candy and goodies to purchase. Also known for the popcorn. They have been around forever! Happy to see that they are still thriving after all these years.

Nothing but the best at Candyland! We, of course, picked up the classic Chicago Mix--plus a custom bag without the caramel. Service was quick and efficient, and they accept both card and cash. Parking can be a bit tricky, so I'd recommend parking near Rice Park and taking a short walk--that's what we did, and it was a breeze. The Saint Paul store is the original location, and I'm so glad to see it doing well downtown. A Saint Paul icon!

Stopped for a sweet treat this afternoon. The nice lady behind the counter was helpful in sharing which treats were made in house. It was a hot day so we enjoyed our treats inside. Great butter toffee!

Cute little old fashioned candy store!! They have so many varieties of candy, chocolates, popcorn and so many other sweet things! I recommend visiting candy land if you want to try something new.

By far the Best popcorn and candy selections in the Twin Cities. The line may get long, but the staff do an amazing customer service job! Whether you are looking for traditional candy favorites, popcorn, Caramel Apples or homemade fudge, Candyland is the place.

I've been going to Candyland since I've been a child. Simply the best and oh so yummy!! Latest visit was last night around 8:40pm. Staff were very patient while we decided what we wanted and as always, helpful. They always ask if there is anything we'd like to try before purchasing. So many yummy treats to pick from. This trip I ordered 2-#2 boxed popcorn (one with butter, one without butter), a few pieces of chocolate, and 1/2 pound of red licorice tracks. If I remember correctly the downtown Saint Paul Candyland is the original one. It just has the perfect vibe of candy shop. As soon as you walk in, you get the wonderful smell of popcorn and all of a sudden your eyes are bigger than your stomach. I've never had anything I haven't liked from here. Popcorn is fantastic. I love the buttered popcorn with extra butter and oh the cheese popcorn... so cheesy and fresh. The flavo crunch is great too! Caramel with nuts... best of both worlds. I also appreciate how they have a rewards program. Keeps you coming back! Even if they didn't have that, I'd be back anyway. They have too many scrumptious goodies to stay away. I'm telling you don't skip on this place, MUST visit in MN.

This old time candy shop is worth the trip. It's super close to the xcel center and the best treat for after the Children's Museum. Their popcorn is super tender and big kernels. The flavors are rich. They also have a great assortment of candy. The staff are super friendly and work very efficiently. They have their process down to a science. This is the perfect place for kids or kids at heart.

This is a straight-up, old-fashioned, classic Main Street candy shop! Candyland has been slinging treats from behind this counter since the Herbert Hoover administration. And as you stand in this dainty sweets boutique, it's easy to assume that nothing has changed for all its decades. Come here for chocolates, fruity gummies, nuts, and their in-demand Chicago Mix - bags stuffed with equal parts caramel corn, cheese corn, and buttered popcorn. I don't know how they are able to make such perfect popcorn, and I ran movie theaters for 11 years. I don't know how much of the candy is made by them on site, but I know there is a difference between what you get at a regular store and what you get from Candyland. You taste it right away. Obviously you should consider coming here for a treat for yourself and/or your family, but also don't forget to consider stopping here on the way to a gathering of friends. They will definitely be happy with your offering.

The company started with simple products…read morelike horseradish and pickles that were bottled in clear glass so customers could see the quality. That transparency alone says a lot about the foundation of this brand from the start. Let's fast forward over 150 years, and Heinz has become the name most people automatically picture when they think of ketchup. Am I right? Now think flavor? Perfectly balanced. Slightly sweet, tangy, rich tomato depth...not too watery, not too thick. It just hits right every time. There's a reason it became famous for its "57 Varieties" slogan and ended up a staple in homes, diners, BBQs, and restaurants everywhere. What I love most is consistency. Whether it's their classic ketchup on a juicy burger, dipped with crispy fries, spread on a hot dog, or even paired with scrambled eggs (don't judge!), it tastes the same every time. Their mustard brings that sharp bite to sausages, pretzels and best of all a marinate to meats. Heinz 57 sauce on steak or meatloaf? Classic comfort. Over the years they've expanded into mayo, BBQ sauces, and creative blends, but the core flavor profile still feels nostalgic. It's one of those brands that reminds you of backyard cookouts and family dinners. Heinz didn't just make condiments, they helped define what ketchup is supposed to taste like. Reliable, flavorful, timeless even. Some things don't need reinventing... they just need a squeeze bottle on the table.

Now,it's not often or everyone that has specific childhood ketchup memories. On second thought, everyone has them. But,it's more than I loved ketchup as a kid or I hated ketchup. Growing up in Dallas it was an us and them experience. My grandmother used Del Monte ketchup and she kept it in the refrigerator. My mother Bought Heinz and kept it in the pantry. I liked ketchup but, just on French fries. Everyone had friends that smothered everything in ketchup but not me. I discovered last year I like ketchup more than ever and have been dowsing my burgers with it occasionally. It seems not that long ago,the Heinz glass bottle disappeared for ever. I love glass and hate plastic so it was a sad passing but I get the business necessities of it. So I chug along with my plastic bottle of Heinz,in the fridge and ready for action. It came in handy the other nite when I combined it with horse radish to make shrimp cocktail sauce. It seems Heinz has the ketchup market cornered and that's ok with me. Why? Thick and Flavorful. Remember the ad campaign from decades ago when Carlie Simon sang, Anticipation as an upside down bottle of Ketchup barely moved. Yum

So much for that visit. I drove along Grand Avenue to check out what was around the area. I saw Paper Source. It reminded me of a store in Winnipeg that I used to frequent. It was called The Paper Gallery. I loved it so much. If you are the type who loves stationery, greeting cards, pens, pencils, and more, you'd love this store. Paper Source gave me the same vibes. I turned around and parked on the street. It was free parking. Great! I walked into the store. My instincts were correct. The store had pens, pencils, greeting cards, and a lot of gift ideas. In short, I was in heaven! A post-Christmas sale greeted me. I saw ornaments, cards, and more all discounted. I did see the cutest felt penguin that was on sale, but the price after the sale didn't justify my getting it. I loved the pen section. From cute dog pens, to fountain ones, there was a pen for everyone. I ended up getting a disposable fountain pen. It writes well and it's the perfect size to carry in a small purse. Yet, it's the right size to write with if you have big hands. The plushies were adorable and deadly. I saw everything from avocados, to tacos. I loved the cookbooks. I wanted them all. I liked the one dedicated to soup. There were also book titles that made me crack up. If you can't think of anything to get someone as a gift, I'm pretty sure that you can find something in this store. I saw satin pillow cases, drinkware, candles, Spirograph, and more. If you're into sending cards, you can get extremely fancy by getting inkpads and stamps. I was into stamping in high school. It was nice to see how stamping has improved, but is still the same, if that makes any sense. I ended up also getting a sticky note dispenser in the shape of a typewriter. I have always loved typewriters, so I had to get it. I waited for a staffer to come to the payment area. She was pleasant and was helping another customer. I am a patient person who was not in a rush this day, so I was good. She came over and was extremely apologetic. She rang my items through her payment system. She then asked me whether I was a Paper Source, or Barnes and Noble rewards member. She uttered such magical words. I was the latter. It felt like Christmas. She let me know that my membership got me 10% off everything at the Paper Source. She also said that yearly, I get a premium tote for free. It's funny how I had eyed this tote when I first walked in. She showed me the pockets and keychain hook inside the bag that sold me. I loved it so much because the canvas thickness was perfect and it felt soft to the touch. I actually used this bag as my personal item on my flights home because it was more spacious than my purse and I could bring back more goodies! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and my transaction was done. She asked if I wanted my items in the bag. I said yes. I thanked this woman. She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and left with my new bag and goodies. I had a fun experience here. It's great when your original plans don't pan out, but you find a new store that you end up loving. (26)
