There are a couple Candyland locations in the metro but the Stillwater one is probably my favorite! The staff is always so friendly and it's nice to see young people working hard. There are so many good stores along Main Street in Stillwater and Candyland is no exception. The store itself is quite small but their selection is not! Staff is always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend their Chicago Mix Popcorn and their Chippos (chocolate covered wavy potato chips)! When my wife and I are craving a late-night treat, Candyland is usually our go-to spot. The staff is always friendly, and helpful, we've never had a bad experience with service. Our favorites are the turtles, caramel apples, and of course the Chicago mix popcorn. The prices are fair, and the location is convenient right off Main Street as you head into downtown Stillwater. Parking is generally fine, though it's shared with another business so it can get a little tricky at times. Even so, I'm glad this spot is here--it's more convenient than the St. Paul location since you don't have to deal with just street parking. read more

Warm greetings as we walked in and staff was helpful and unobtrusive. I appreciated being able to customize my own taffy mix. What I really loved was that they had chocolate covered toffee without nuts in it! Trust me, it's harder to find than one would think. A trip out to Stillwater, you'll find yourself shopping, walking along the river, grabbing lunch and to round out your day make a stop by Candyland. My favorite is their caramel marshmallows, just get one, you won't be sorry and will be thinking about that sticky, sweet, creamy, pillowy delight until next time you come by...it is what dreams are made of. They also have "sugar plums" during Christmastime, they are basically a holiday gummy that are fantastic. Love Candyland in general. Got some real fresh cinnamon bears. Friendly staff. Two stars knocked off for not requiring masks. It is such a small and tight space, masks should be required. Staff were wearing them. Not requiring masks of customers is saying you don't care about the health of your staff or your customers. read more

I pretty much love anything chocolate but please believe me when I tell you that Candyland has THEE best chocolate you will ever taste. Whether it is in the shape of fudge or covering gummy bears or pretzels it is truly the creamiest, richest chocolate I have ever tasted. I have tasted A LOT! If chocolate is not your thing, Candyland offers plenty of other options. Think of any bulk mix candy you have ever desired and they have it and more. Everything is sold by the pound and I will admit that the prices are a tad high so I personally only go here as a special treat. Like when I am shopping along Downtown Stillwater and a sugar craving hits. Besides Stillwater, they also have locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Every location is very small and please expect to see a rather crowded interior that has quite the line. But do not expect to wait very long. For as busy as it always seems to be the staff moves you through quickly and with a smile each and every time. In this day and age customer service can be hard to come by but Candyland staffs some of the best people around. Check them out soon! Like their other locations in downtown Minneapolis and St Paul, this small popcorn and treats shop serves up high-quality, great tasting goodies and has something for everyone. While the location is on the main drag in Stillwater it is a bit farther down in what used to be the "ghost town" section of the main drag but is the area that's starting to develop and this is at least o r reason to make the stroll down that direction. You can find it across from a great independent bookstore and hippie co-op. Of course the main reason, for me to stop in is the caramel corn. They seem to always have a fresh batch on hand and I'm particularly found of the version with peanuts-think Cracker Jack but fresh and tasty. Of course I also have to have some of their famous "Chicago mix" which is a blend of regular popcorn, cheese corn and caramel corn-a sweet and savory bit of joy. Unfortunately it's gone all too soon so get a bigger bag than you initially think. Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of this place. Best cheddar popcorn I've ever had!! I took some family who were visiting from out of town. They loved the cheddar popcorn so much I'm pretty sure they are ordering some online right now to be delivered to their doorstep when they get home. Chicago mix is also great and the popcorn bags come in a variety of sizes. Prices are good, especially for quality and quantity. My sister suggested that we make our way to Candyland and I didn't know what to expect. When we walked it, you could definitely sense the nostalgia. The employees greeted each person who walked through the door with excitement and spread across the counters were many different choices for candy and other goods. It's way down the road past everything else, so I stumbled on it sometime last summer. I think because it's in Stillwater it has the feel of being on vacation, on the boardwalk. The main smell is caramel popcorn. I don't even eat the stuff and I had to have it. I ate every last one too. I got the fudge, great as well. I got a can of Hires rootbeer. I used to go the the Wabasha location in the 70's. Always liked the Carmel Corn and Peanuts. The last few years have been getting the Chicago Mix from the Stillwater location. It is a treat item for me, so only get it around the Holidays. I can make Carmel Corn and Peanuts at home, but it is not nearly as good as the Chicago Mix. Though it is expensive compared to what we can do at home, at times you need to ignore the $$$ factor and just treat yourself. And your friends too..... As a seasoned tourist of downtown Stillwater, I was excited to visit this store as it could provide a new attraction to bring the little ones. I was deeply disappointed. They must not go through a lot of product because I tried a turtle and some gummies and they all tasted as if they'd been left out for too long. Unlike the other candy stores in Stillwater they offered no samples so I was forced to purchase a piece of their fudge before realizing it was grainy and flavorless. It's a cute store, but nothing about it adds to the historic flavor of downtown Stillwater (too modernly decorated) and you aren't allowed to personally pick out any of your goodies. I would recommend sticking to the main drag and going to Tremblay's or Barbara Ann's. Tremblay's offers everything Candyland has plus more at a much lower price. Also, nothing beats letting the kids pick out their own candy. It's half the fun. If you're a candy enthusiast I'd check this store out but otherwise stick to the tried and true businesses. read more
