Wish we had in the states! A fav from England
    Diele K.

Heinz is a staple growing up in the United States and visiting my dad's family still in England. Get out of here with that "fancy ketchup" when dining out. Heinz or nothing in my opinion! No other ketchup compares. Desperately requesting the following be available in the United States as these tariffs are KILLING ME and love these from England: - Heinz Beans (make a banging beans on toast) - Heinz Cream of Tomato soup (perfection with a cheese toastie) - Heinz Salad Cream (a delightful, tangy topping for salads or used as a spread for sandwiches) Heinz service via delivery options through Amazon have been remarkably easy, and I find more convenient than popping in to an import shop. Though those shops are fun to shop the aisles and have fun decor to look at. Either method of shopping, I've got to have my Heinz products.

Today, I had lunch at Chuck's Roadhouse, with two bottles placed on my table: - Steak sauce - Heinz ketchup The Heinz ketchup bottle indicated that the ketchup was "prepared in Canada," but isn't a made-in-Canada product. I then saw this Heinz listing. It brought up some not-so-pleasant memories if you are Canadian, so it's gets four stars here. I remember visiting Philadelphia over a decade ago. I was there for a conference, but had time to do some touristy stuff. There was a lot of pride for the Heinz brand. I remember getting a small plushie of a Heinz ketchup bottle. There was also a mustard bottle plushie, but I'm definitely more of a ketchup person. I remember when McDonald's across Canada switched from using Heinz ketchup in 2013 to its house-brand version. I was sad at first. I've grown to love it. Leamington, Ontario is the tomato capital of Canada. It was Heinz's second-largest tomato processing plant. The company decided to shut this plant down and consolidated ketchup production in the States. It wasn't the best move. 800 Canadian jobs were eliminated. Many Canadians were angry. Highbury Canco Corporation had received a one-year licence to process tomatoes at the facility, saving some 250 jobs. It was cool. French's ketchup is Canadian and a Heinz rival. French's took advantage of the situation by producing its own ketchup brand using Leamington produce. It marketed the brand with an appeal to Canadian patriotism. It has been successful to date, especially with the tariff wars happening. I believe that Heinz decided to set up a tomato processing plant in Mont Royal, Quebec after French's led in the ketchup share in Canada after Heinz said goodbye to its Leamington plant. The "prepared in Canada" holds true. A lot of damage has been done, though. I like Heinz ketchup. However, I am more inclined to support French's these days. (52)

I'm a Heinz fan! Over the years I've kept their ketchup and mustard packets in a plastic box in my desk at work to add to nearly any lunch item! I'm more of a mustard fan than ketchup. I've eaten my share of Heinz over the years! Heinz is the prevalent brand at most restaurants and fast food places. These days I think their ketchup is a little too sweet for my tastes, however I still use it occasionally on French Fries. I imagine you would be hard pressed to find an American kitchen without a Heinz condiment! Thanks Heinz!

As I'm in a diner right now and pouring a pile of ketchup on my plate for my fries there is only one condiment brand that has been a part of my life from the beginning - Heinz. Burgers, home fries, scrambled eggs, meat loaf and other suspect things I consume such as hot dogs, Heinz ketchup is the best in my opinion. Over the years the flavor has the correct taste and been very consistent. I do hate when I get a food delivery or at a diner and they offer an alternative lower-shelf brand. Yuck. It's like drinking cheap rack liquor at a bar.

I do like seeing the different ways everyday products introduce unexpected new marketing twist.
    Chris H.

Like many food products do nowadays , they have novelty gimmicks to create attention. For the super bowl they are introducing KEGCHUP. That alone caught my attention, but also marketing made it into the shape of a keg ! I used to use a lot of ketchup, but have cut back a lot on the bad foods that used to go so well with it.

One can take Heinz ketchup and their mustard for granted. If one travels to a foreign country that serves fries, no amount of mayo, curry ketchup or pink sauce will provide the familiar tasty satisfaction of that tomatoes twangy of a condiment. I still take some packets with me when I travel out of America because I know at least one meal will need it. Even egg breakfast dishes become happiness when enhanced by a squeeze from a Heinz ketchup packet while on foreign lands.

The H. J. Heinz Company was an American food processing company. The company was founded by Henry J. Heinz in 1869. Heinz manufactures thousands of food products in plants on six continents, and markets these products in more than 200 countries and territories. The company claims to have 150 number-one or number-two brands worldwide. This company has a interesting history you can look up online. When I was growing up Heinz was the ketchup my parents always used. Later I found out I had a severe allergy to tomato so I had to pass on the ketchup. Thanks for the Memories...... It was so VERY good on French Fries and Hamburgers!!!

While using less condiments in general, Heinz ketchup is always a staple. Just when the trick of getting the ketchup out of the glass bottle was reveled plastic squeeze bottles took over the shelves, I now buy Heinz mayonnaise too. Primarily because the brand that was the most popular on the east coast was bought by a conglomerate and radially changed, including making people sick. It belonged in the laxative aisle. Fortunately Heinz Mayonnaise doesn't cause such problems.

I was a little confused at first because the place still has signage or references from its previous name, but it all worked out just fine. As soon as you walk in, you're immediately hit with the amazing smell of garlic (I think the owner was roasting it that day--heavenly). My friend and I took our time browsing all the different olive oils and goodies. The shop has a really nice balance--part store, part cozy café. We ended up chatting with the owner for a bit, and she was welcoming. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience. We ordered the tomato mozzarella panini and a coffee each. I'll be honest--a tomato mozz sandwich wouldn't normally be my go-to, but it was surprisingly flavorful, light, and still filling (half was enough for me). Everything we had was delicious. There's seating inside.... tables and even a comfy couch--giving it that laid-back, neighborhood vibe. Also appreciated that there's a parking lot, which made things easy. If I'm in the area again and need olive oil (or just a chill spot for a coffee and bite), I'd absolutely stop in again!

The moment we walked in, the scent of garlic filled the air. The owner let us in on the secret: she was prepping garlic for their sandwiches. Naturally, we had to try the caprese sandwich, and it did not disappoint--fresh, flavorful, and that garlic? Incredible. The whole place gave off relaxed European vibes, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. I'll definitely be back.

Parking is easy, as there is a free public lot about 50 feet away, and street parking is also available. The workers are always friendly, and often will give you cheese samples (yum). I have never had a bad sandwich here. Some favorites are the chicken salad, the prosciutto-fig-ricotta, and the sweet chorizo. Today, I ordered the Turkey club and the Sandwich of the Week, the La Tur, which had a cow, goat and sheep milk cheese with blueberry honey jam, greens and bacon. It was good, but don't get this sandwich unless you like cheeses that REALLY have that sheep flavor! There are a few small tables for 2 tucked inside by the register, and a couple of small tables outside in nice weather, but this is really more of a grab'n go place. We took these on the plane with us the next day, as we were traveling. Pro Tip: You can earn France 44 rewards at this location, just tell them you are a member when you get to the register!

Despite having so much cheese, it wasn't a super heavy meal. More of a take out place. There's a couple tables outside to eat but it was also really windy and hot the day I went so I ate pretty quickly.

But it's not & they cut the raw meats in the open air (not enclosed or closed door separate room) & the smell lingers into the entire store at every Asian market & just makes me very ill.
