A fairly large flea market I attended a few times last year, once with my friend Chris who set up a…read morebooth (I sold an old receiver and a cd player that day...) and once this year, so far. It's not crazy big like other state's flea markets but it consumes the entire Medina Entertainment Center lot and an entire gravel overflow section above the Center. There's a lot of antique-type stuff that seemed semi useless to me, but people were buying it, tons of local-related sports memorabilia, and even a guy pitching "professional grade" rug cleaner a la Billy Mays! I can walk around for a couple hours easily. It has always been well attended the times I've gone. The organiser rolls around a different points with meat raffle tickets for $1, and there's a soda/mini donut wagon parked. All of that being said, it's a low-key, lazy affair. Tip for first time visitors: if you're coming in from Minneapolis direction, make the turn just before The Medina (at the lights), the parking is in a grassy field behind the flea market. You can't miss it. Edit: I should add that it's held on Sundays and has been known to cancel for weather reasons.

I grew up just west of where this flea market is held, and I have been going to it since I was quite young. People come from far away places to sell their treasures...and in turn...people come from far away places to buy said treasures... I mean, where else in the Twin Cities can you buy a vintage Nintendo game, an antique bench, and a baby ferret - all in the same place? Even if you don't buy anything - rummaging through the acres of goodies is a really fun way to spend a Sunday morning!

I don't think I ever really realized how many cool vintage shops they had along Lyndale. I'm not in…read morethe area much these days (the single lane traffic, traffic in general and parking in uptown is for sure a full time extreme sport). My mom loves cats and immediately when we walked in she was already picking up little trinkets and whatnot to buy. I loved the wall of gumball machines and the overall humor in the names of them. They even offer a loyalty punch card with more fun on the back of the card. They did have a room of comic books as well as a workshop room which is cool. They had a room in the back of the store with vintage items & more mature items like magazines, art, trinkets & more. In the main room they had trinkets, art, shirts, stickers and lots of fun stuff. Generally a lot of nostalgic stuff with a bit of an artsy twist. It's for sure worth checking out. Staff were nice. Someone overheard me asking my mom for a quarter to get gum (I don't carry cash or coins at all) and gave me and my mom a quarter which was very nice. For sure bring some quarters!! Generally enjoyed checking out this shop!

The staff is always really happy to be there and share their fantastic (in the most literal sense) shirts, posters, books, art, and anything else you can imagine. It's a bit pricey for some stuff but I'm happy to pay it as I'm supporting local makers and helping to keep creativity alive in my city. If you like unique, kitschy stuff, supporting the community, or are a weirdo in general, you'll love this hidden gem.

First time I dealt with the franchise company i Sold It. I dealt with this one and thru ebay…read more Bottom line is that this unit somehow disqualified me as a bidder - apparently ebay does allow for that - and even though I would have been the highest bidder, I couldn't get the item. That may be a good thing since I haven't seen it and the store would not test the $500 item to confirm that it worked or tell me what is the policy if something is not working when I receive it (it was a 6 year old car racing simulator with LOTS of electronic and non electronic parts). Their assurance that the unit was fully functional was - it's from someone in our neighborhood. Another reason why they made me very nervous is that they listed the unit's condition as - "nice" - talk about dodging the accepted standards of excellent, very good, good, average, etc. The person I communicated with also came across as very unfriendly (and made me wonder how professional this organization is). If you will deal with this unit or any of their franchises, keep in mind their negative reviews floating around the internet - here on Yelp and other places. I also read that they take 40% of the final, sold price, which I find ridiculous - you can put your own ad on craigs list etc and enjoy your own money.
