Super pricy for the decorations done on the cakes. Don't go there. I was in a hurry, told them I couldn't wait for them to try and fix the awful work they had done. I asked them if I could just get a discount on the original price I had paid for which was $151. They had me wait 20 minutes for them to speak to their manager. When they finally came back they said all they could do was try and fix the flaws. What really upsets me about all this is that I had originally ordered it for a specific time because I " obviously needed it for that time!" And they made me wait so long, they should've just tried to fix it while they had me waiting. I agreed to have them "fix them" when they came back, the decorations still looked awful. They still wouldn't give me a small discount. And then they tell me " it's not like we charged you for the decorations!" Wtf Wtf! Really! Totally ruined about an hour of my day. Shitty place, I personally don't recommend it. Waste of time and money read more

Candle Light Bakery has the best cakes. Si far, I've had their Napoleon with fruit on top, Tiramisu, Red Velvet and Choco Flan. And their cannolis and cupcakes are also very good. If you want to sample their cakes, they have miniature versions of them. Yummy read more

I stopped by today to pick up some goodies for the fam. I ended up getting some raspberry and blueberry thumbprint cookies, which were 2 for $1, so they were pretty affordable. The actual taste could have been better though. They didn't quite meet the bar, at least not for me. But then again, I'm very picky when it comes to desserts, despite having the biggest sweet tooth ever, or maybe because of it ;) read more

I went to this shop on a sweet tooth craving while in the area. The service was neutral. I purchased a cupcake, canoli, and an horchata frappe. The cupcake and canoli did not taste gourmet at all. The cream in the canoli was basic cream puff cream and I was very disappointed. I do not think they make their canoli cream base out of ricotta or mascarpone. The Oreo cupcake did not taste like Oreo at all. The frosting was bland and had no flavor. The bread was dry and only chocolate flavored. The horchata frappe, however, was delicious. read more

I have enjoyed their cream puffs and their chocolate ganache cake. Their chocolate ganache cake is so moist, its unbelievable. It stayed moist even a week after!!!!!!!!! This cake is so light and airy that you can eat a whole 6 in cake in one sitting. A 6in cake was $21. They accept credit cards. When I walked in there was a large crowd of people in the bakery. You should take a ticket/number and wait for your turn in order to be helped. The chocolate ganache cake is a must, to die for. One of the best cakes I have had and affordable too! read more

They have their prices wrong on the items and once you pay they tell you that the price was "accidentally" put wrong and they don't honor that price. The lady was so rude about it. I'm so sad I'm leaving this bad review. We've been buying from Candlelight for over 5 years. Our go to is their 3 Leches cake and would always get compliments from our guests because it's so moist and not overly sweet. For the past few purchases (since last year) it's been SOOO dry that it cannot not be considered 3 Leches. I am not sure if they changed their recipe, but it's not working. I keep coming back hoping it was just luck we got a bad cake, but too many times now have we gotten a dry cake. We continued to go back to keep supporting the small businesses but I think today's purchase was the last straw. So sad I have to stop coming here, we loved it so much. read more

I went today to buy a cake for my Dad's birthday after work. They still have Covid hours apparently because they close at 6. Got there and there was an employee putting their sign inside and was struggling to go in with the sign so I held the door for her and after I help her she turns around super rude the employee and tells Me we're closed! I look at my watch it's 5:59 I said I just need to get a cake real quick it's not like I need a custom cake I wouldn't even take 5 mins to grab one and go. So I am never coming here again. So basically if I wouldn't have helped her I would have made it. She was beyond rude! read more

I want to start this review by thanking Marissa for all the help, hospitality and most of all patience! Lol If you're bos's are reading this....ask for a raise cause you're awesome! I went a day prior to speaking to Marisa and I ordered a cake that literrally had me scratching my head all night. The young lady I spoke to when I placed my first order had me feeling rushed, she didn't explain anything about the cake nor did she throw any suggestions as to how it'll look with the choices I've made. So I came in the next day to make some small changes To my order, and that's when I was helped by Marisa. She went through my previous order and she made some suggestions, and answered my concerns. She took her time taking my order even flipped through their cake book to show me some ideas.....and with that we completely changed my previous order and went with something I was confident about. I have been going to this Blakey's for many years. We used them for our wedding cake (married 14yrs now) was delicious then and still is. Bought many bday cakes and just random baked goods. Wish they had a bigger store and more variety of things, I'm sure it would taste great aswell. There is plenty parking behind the building. Staff are friendly and fast service. I've ordered from here so many times and have never had an issue. I went in and got the most horrendous cake... looked like nothing I asked for and to top it off it wasn't securely placed and fell out of the box completely ruined and not eatable. Today I went in to speak to a manager about the cake design and the receipt was written but our verbal agreement wasn't the same for our topper. The lack of customer service is not acceptable, they sell a good product but customers will be turn away if manners are lacking, as in my case, just went to the competition, which also have good product and better manners. Business owners want customers back after the year long pandemia, but the staff does not have to make people feel like idiots or dumb, a little kindness goes further then a dollar. read more

I purchased 16 cupcakes, they put 12 cupcakes into one large plastic container and 3 into a smaller plastic container. I asked if she would secure the two containers together. She got an attitude, said they are low on supplies, did not want to help me. I saw tape on counter and asked if she could tape them together. She got a little tiny piece of tape and rolled it into a small circle and the stuck it in between the two containers. (The top container can just fly off with such a small piece of tape.) A second person stepped in and after her second very short piece of tape, I told them, never-mind, I would tape myself at home. read more

I've been coming here for a while now... driving 45 mins any time I have a special occasion to buy their vanilla cake. And today I place a order over the phone and specifically told them I wanted it vanilla with strawberry filling. I get home 45 mins later and it's chocolate and I call them to let them know they gave me the wrong cake. I don't like chocolate so now I'm not going to eat this cake because I repeat I don't like chocolate. First they offer me 20% off my next order which is sooo stupid if u ask me! Then some other girl comes on the phone and said I have a month to go pick up another cake if I wish. Even after I told her I live 45 mins away!! I am very disappointed and angry with the service I received! I didn't mess up the order they did so why should I waste my gas and time!!! Definitely a 5! I usually don't like tres leches because everywhere else I had it is too soggy. It's perfect here and their cakes are always fresh. I'm sure you'll love it! :)

My last trip was kind of spontaneous because I suddenly got a Fivestars reward that day for these waffle bites. However, when I arrived, I was looking for the Fivestars tablet only to be met by a Clover tablet instead. It felt like I went through a time warp because the employee working behind the register didn't seem to have any idea what I was trying to say regarding Fivestars, though he did notice a little trifold card on the front counter mentioning Fivestars. I asked if he could get his manager so I could explain, and even show, him my Fivestars reward. The reward said "already accepted", which he almost thought meant I had redeemed it already, but if that were the case, then it would have said "already redeemed". Given that they've now done away with Fivestars, I'm not too surprised he may have gotten the words "accepted" confused with "redeemed", but luckily, he was happy enough to honor it for me. The employee who assisted me was very helpful, though he did ask me to repeat the topping and the drizzle that I wanted. I chose the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor ice cream with Fruity Pebbles toppings and a Strawberry drizzle on top. Since I had already tried the cookie flavors before, I figured I'd try the fruity flavors this time around. He said he needed about 5 minutes to prepare my waffle bites, which were presented a little different than last time. Last time, I got the Cookie Butter flavor with *Cookie* Crisp and Peanut *Butter* (see what I did there?), and it came in a small plastic takeout container. This one came in a large plastic cup, and I'm thinking the logistics may have changed a ton between my last two visits. I did appreciate how the employee asked if I wanted the waffles on top of or beneath the ice cream before making the waffle bites; I chose on top. He also asked if I'd like powdered sugar on top, to which I agreed. Unfortunately, neither of the waffle bites I got from my last two visits impressed me that much. As a matter of fact, the only thing that impressed me was the strawberry drizzle. Everything else fell kind of flat. While generous in size for the $8 price tag, the Cookie Butter and the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream didn't really taste like these flavors at all! For whatever reason, the peanut butter didn't add much flavor, but the strawberry drizzle added a lot! How even?! In short, the waffle bites weren't that much of an upgrade from the ice cream scoop that I had on my first visit. I'm willing to say "too much good was no good" here. The waffles themselves were good, but they can only do so much when a flavored ice cream doesn't even taste like that flavor. It's worth noting that on my penultimate visit, when I got the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, I saw two employees behind the front counter who were ready to take my order. I asked them to explain what the waffle bites were, but it took them a couple of tries to actually understand what I was asking. From what I gathered, the waffle bites were similar to the ice cream scoop I had on my first visit, but with the addition of a warm waffle to supplement the ice cream. However, the step-by-step process remains the same. I was initially told it would take 6 minutes to prepare the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, but it actually took 15! It seemed like one was training the other or they were trying to gather the ingredients and/or the steps needed to create the waffle bites. After about 10 minutes, I was told by one of the employees they had to make a new batch of waffles because the first batch had burnt. The music was getting pretty loud, so it was hard to hear him after that, but I didn't want to hold up the kitchen prep process any longer. I just said "Alright, sure" so he could continue preparing my order. I do appreciate how he let me know of this so that I'd know the reason for the extended wait, but I wish they weren't so ill-prepared during my visit. So overall, still 3 stars overall. I appreciate the prior partnership with Fivestars, but these missed opportunities have led me to believe that Cravings is just not for me. I doubt I'll try anything else on their ice cream menu, and considering that there are only a few parking spots in their lot, it will take a lot to get me to try their hot chicken. And speaking of lack of parking, I also want to mention that on my second visit, I saw two open parking stalls right in front of Cravings, one on either side of a car. That car had its driver's side wide open so that I couldn't park there. I had to park on the passenger side of that car, which he left much less room for. Perhaps a microcosm of the clientele in this part of town? Everybody deserves a second chance, right? Unfortunately, not everybody can make the most of them, and this is just one example of such. Thanks for the sweet treats Cravings, but I'll get my next one somewhere else.

To start off, I live in Chicago, Illinois or mathematically 2000 miles away from Candle Light Bakery. My boyfriend however, resides in California. We were both waiting to hear about a last-minute promotion for his job and when he got it, I wanted to surprise him with some sort of congratulatory sweet. Living so far away makes it harder though because 1. I'm not familiar with the area, 2. same-day shipping can be incredibly costly, and 3. many business were closed due to the stay-at-home order in CA. After vigorously searching all over Yelp, I came across Candle Light. Their phone line remained busy for about an hour, but being desperate I decided to keep attempting. After a little while though I was able to get through (this was also during, what I'm assuming, high peak hours 5-6 pm). I explained my situation to Marissa and asked if I could possibly place an order for a cake. Now, I haven't had the pleasure to speak with other Candle Light Bakery employees, but if they're sweet as Marissa, they're for sure getting my business. She was incredibly patient with me and gave me a rundown of each individual cake I could purchase over the phone (there was a specified $ limit). I was able to purchase a chocolate ganache cake with custom writing for such a reasonable price! Not only was it such a pleasant phone call and experience with them, but they also allowed me to gift a beautiful cake that both my boyfriend and I gushed over in two separate states. My boyfriend and I have not been able to see each other for four months because of COVID-19 and this surprise was everything we needed to celebrate. For that reason, once I'm able to safely fly out to California, Candle Light Bakery will be the first business I visit. Thank you Candle Light for again, such a pleasant experience and a big hug to Marissa for making my surprise a good one! The cake exceeded my expectations entirely and the writing on it was beautiful. Boyfriend also said the cake was delicious! When I visited your bakery to order a cake, I was disappointed by the service I received. I waited for over 30 minutes just to get pricing information, during which I felt ignored and treated rudely by the staff. This experience left me frustrated, and I ultimately decided to leave without placing an order. I value good customer service and decided to visit French's Bakery instead, where I received excellent service and was able to order a great cake quickly. I've gotten numerous people (including whole families) hooked on the cakes from this spot. The Napoleon, their best seller, is your traditional white cake with fruit on top, a lovely puff pasty middle and fluffy whipped cream. I also LOVE their chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. That chocolate whip that is in it is simply D I V I N E. Ugh, I'm salivating. I get one for every one of my birthdays along with everyone I know's birthday. Haha! You must get the CHOCOLATE GRANACHE!!! It is hands down their best tasting cake there. It the one covered in all chocolate and with 2 strawberries ontop...it looks fancy...yeah that one. I've been a long time fan, before it was renovated and became candlelight. Their cake is moist and delicious. It literally melts in your mouth. I've ordered all types of cakes here, from their smallest to the tiered cakes costing over $400. Yes, there's something wrong with you if you don't like this bakery. Humans by nature are complainers and it erks them to write something good. Trauma is root cause. This place has the best customer service I have ever experienced! I was shopping around for a wedding cake and went around town to more than a few places and finally settled here. I have ordered so many cakes from here. They are absolutely delicious and beautiful. Im not a big sweets person, but this place does it for me. My friend actually ordered her wedding cake from here, and it was absolutely gorgeous. This is definite a must try. I mean they do have other sweets, like bread, cupcakes, jello, and they are all pretty good. Try the Horchata Cupcake, it is great! These guys are about the worst cake decorators I have ever seen. I send in pictures and specific instructions on what I wanted 3 cakes with a 3 inch graphic on each cake. Refreshing flavors are: Red Velvet, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, and White Chocolate Raspberry. Gluten-Free flavors are: Chocolate Chip Cookie and Lemon Raspberry. This Nothing Bundt Cakes in Norwalk opened recently, like less than a year ago. They're located in Civic Center Plaza on the northeast corner of Imperial and Norwalk. If you recall where the Wood Grill Buffet was, that's pretty much where Nothing Bundt Cakes is now, though a new building had to be constructed there. I came on the last day of May, which I had thought would have been the last day their Banana Prepared with Nutella would be on their menu, but Nothing Bundt Cakes sent out an email the following day announcing the extension of this specialty flavor. I arrived close to 3 PM on Sunday, an hour before closing time. There was just one female employee in the shop, and she greeted me as she was cleaning the front countertop. I asked if the Banana Prepared with Nutella was still available that day, and she confirmed it was. I was about to hit "Redeem in store" on my phone until she asked for my phone number so she could redeem it on her end. After telling her my phone number, she knew my name and was able to deduct the 600 points from my points balance. She grabbed one of two Banana Prepared with Nutella bundtlets remaining in their display case and put it in a rather tall Nothing Bundt Cakes gift bag. Right as I left, another customer came in and asked if they still had the Banana Prepared with Nutella, to which the employee answered affirmatively. That customer actually wanted two of those bundtlets, but I only saw one in their display case, so unless they had more in the back of the shop, I got really fortunate. What's unfortunate, on the other hand, was my carelessness at handling the bundtlet on my way home; I accidentally toppled the bundtlet, detaching some of the frosting from the cake in the process. This made the cake look like it came with smushed frosting. so the photos I've posted are not indicative of how this Nothing Bundt Cakes prepares their bundtlets. I had asked that employee how long that particular cake would last, and she said 2 days even though the norm for their cakes is 5 days, but I think the banana would cause that flavor cake to have a shorter lifespan in the fridge. I ate half of the bundtlet the next day, and it was exactly what I expected, except for the slice of banana on top. I thought it would have been softer like a real banana, but this was much firmer, akin to a banana chip. Did I like it better? Yeah! Forget banana and peanut butter; I'll have banana and Nutella instead! lol I finished the other half the following day, and it tasted just as good. I liked how the banana flavor was evenly dispersed throughout the cake whereas it seems most other flavors are too dense for me to enjoy the actual flavor. I believe the bundtlet would have held up well for a third day, but I also believe the taste would have deteriorated quite a bit on the fourth day. According to the Nothing Bundt Cakes app, the Banana Prepared with Nutella is $1.50 more than a normal flavored bundtlet, which is $6.99. A couple of their other flavors are also worth an extra $1.50: Strawberry Cheesecake Swirl, Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookie, and the Gluten-Free Lemon Raspberry, though the last one was listed as not avaliable that day. Inside the shop, they have plenty of merch for a variety of occasions, like birthdays, sporting events, and, most recently, graduations! Whatever the occasion, just know that you won't have to make an extra trip in case you're missing some decor for your celebration! Overall, a solid Nothing Bundt Cakes shop that met my expectations! Norwalk is lucky to open a location, but even if this location runs out of certain flavors, the Downey location is just four miles due west.

The last place I had been too wasn't doing too much or enough, but this small bakeshop is so CUTE! The entire decor is very cutesy and they have all their baked goods on display! It feels like supporting a small business that actually puts care and love into their work they have for customers. Can't wait to come back for more!! P.S. they threw in a completely FREE cupcake for me. I don't know why exactly but it was truly a kind act that I will continue to appreciate. :]

On the day of pick up, I coordinated with the owner through text that I'm outside her house and she brought the cake out to me. I would definitely order from her again and try other flavors!

But maybe that's a mercy that allows me to hold back from over spending.
