Frozen Custard and Vegan Custard with awesome toppings!
Mike C.

Incredible addition to downtown Eugene, just a short walk from the University of Oregon. Current hours are 2pm-9pm Wednesday-Sunday. Check their Instagram for updates. The chocolate and vanilla frozen custard are awesome... silky smooth and delicious. The toppings are impeccable, house made and can be combined to create endless combos. We loved the coconut vegan custard as well. The cart is so cute and the service is exceptional. The owners can help with any dietary questions which they also have details of on their website. Great for date night, families, a quick treat after dinner. Treat your office mates with custard to go. There is some seating if you want to eat there.

This is a food truck parked with a couple other food vendors (Mexican, Thai) next to Joystick gaming lounge off 13th Avenue. The front parking lot is marked for each vendor, but folks appear to park anywhere in the small lot. It would be better to walk if you are nearby. We have been a couple of times and tried the concretes, plain custard, milkshakes, and sundaes. All are delicious, but I liked my vanilla concrete with peanut butter pieces and brownie bites mix-ins the best. The Snow Cap sundae with the vegan coconut custard, chocolate sauce, and sliced almonds was also great.

So friendly & very good location - cuz there's parking ! Gotta be paying attention tho ! The custard itself is creamy & delicious. I love the homemade toppings. I got Carmel & toffee ! Yum. My friend got strawberry and shortbread: she couldn't look past its resemblance to food at the wildlife refuge - but its tasted delish. I want to try every flavor combo !!!

Right down the block from the legendary UofO Heywood Field this place deserves a gold medal for their large variety of regular and seasonal delights. When in season be sure to have their chewy vanilla truly amazing.

We're talking early 80s... a whole different world. You had folks still hanging on to the 70s like it owed them money bell-bottoms, wild personalities, and people that were just downright funny without even trying. I swear, half the entertainment wasn't even the ice cream, it was just sitting there watching humanity stroll by in all its glory. But let's not get it twisted the ice cream absolutely hits the spot. This is that soul food for the student grind. When studying runs too long, when the day's been rough, when the Oregon heat sneaks up on you, or when you just need a little reset... this is the place. Scoop after scoop, flavor after flavor, it never lets you down. And being right there by the University of Oregon? Come on. There's just something about grabbing a cone on campus that feels right. Timeless. Like it belongs there. Customer service has always been solid, the vibe is iconic, and the whole place carries this charm that refuses to fade. Some things change over the years... this place just keeps being exactly what it should be. Five stars. Always has been. Go Ducks !!

As a non-dairy person, it's sometimes hard to find good ice cream (especially milkshakes) that isn't sherbet or coconut based. But the mint chip at Salt & Straw was great! Everything a milkshake should be and more. The next day, I had the same flavor as a kids scoop in a cup because "don't fix what ain't broken!" Definetly delicious! I interacted with different people on both occasions and both people were very nice! They kept a smile and were glad to give samples to the family members that were with me. They also answered tons of questions about different flavors. I wasn't sure about standing by an outdoor fire pit to eat ice cream when its in the low 40s, but I was pleasantly surprised! The fire surprisingly kept us quite warm while we ate. Very much enjoyed the ambiance it brought. Even though we were next to a busy street, it didn't feel like it. I work in a nearby restaurant and send people here all the time, but I was glad to keep myself informed that its just as delicious as when I first tried it years ago!

Sweet Life, to me, is like coming home…read more While growing up, we'd come here after pretty much anything positive to celebrate. Then, for years it was one of two places I both wanted to go to and take people to experience each time I visited. Now that I live here again, I strangely only get delivery. However, even saying the name brings on a childish grin (and possibly happy tears) to my eyes! It doesn't hurt that their key lime tart is my favorite dessert not called sorbet of all time. Oh, yes, they also have sorbet, and while it isn't on Wanderlust's level, I don't care. They execute every single thing with a level of precision and care that you just don't see often, and somehow do it in a way that feels welcoming! Thank you, Sweet Life, thank you.

I got the tiramisu and two pieces of chocolate. The tiramisu was a bit different from the ones made with ladyfingers. I think this one was made with chiffon cake instead, so the texture was a little bit dry for my liking. The flavor was good though, more on the chocolate side. I liked the earl grey chocolate, but man, I couldn't stand the little yellow dots on it. They reminded me of those little eggs from some insect that lays eggs on your clothes in the summer. The earl grey filling was nice, smooth and citrusy. The passionfruit chocolate was really cute, kinda had the look of a quail egg shell. The filling was a bit more sour compared to the earl grey one. But in general both chocolates were quite similar. My partner had the zucchini pound cake, and he loved it a lot. I don't know much about Eugene, as we were just passing through on our road trip, but I'd definitely recommend people come here when they visit Eugene.
