1 star because there is not a zero star button, Very disappointing experience yesterday, I made a appointment for 10:00. 3 days ago to look at a 5th wheel camper with Brendan, the sales guy I talked to him on the phone and he sent me pictures and everything of the camper and I was going to plan on buying it but when I got there at 10:00 we sat there for 15 minutes after driving a hour to get there just for him to tell me he sold it at 9:00 to the people sitting next to me, he didn't even have the decency to tell me he had someone else looking at it, then they were trying to talk me into buying another rv that was held together with duct tape under the slides and soft spots on the roof, absolute joke of a business. This is a letter written to Camping World of Syracuse after employees of that organization continually called/texted/emailed us for 3 weeks after being told that we wanted nothing to do with them. You are now the 4th or 5th person from Camping World to reach out. As I've told everyone before you, there is nothing you can do to repair our experience with your organization, nor to help "navigate" us through another RV shopping journey. We purchased a camper from you. We specifically asked if this particular unit would hold resale value. We were told that it absolutely would. Three years later we've been offered 1/3 what we paid, the explanation given has to do with NADA values and such. In other words, contrary to what we were told, the camper didn't hold it's value. Oliver's Campers gave us the best trade-in offer, explaining that they were "going over & above to earn our business." An organization we had no prior relationship with made it a priority to "earn our business." That concept spoke to my wife and I. We do not intend on giving our future business to your organization, mainly because, you were not willing to go "over & above" to retain our business. As an example of our loyalty, we have not only bought 5 vehicles from Dovi Motors over the past 17 years, we have also recommended/brought friends & relatives there that have also bought multiple vehicles. We are loyal to those that we feel treat us fairly. We thank you for the education you have provided to us in our first, and now second, RV shopping journey. We will not soon forget this experience. Update 3-28-24 After receiving our camper back AGAIN after them having it all winter to replace the rear wall and a bunch of other various things that were supposed to be addressed 4 times ago. I finally get the sun to hit the rear of the camper just rite and surprise surprise they just tried covering up the patch holes again on the rear wall. STAY AWAY from these people!!! Clever on them making sure the check over is always in poor lighting And them posting to reach out to corporate directly is a joke. Worked with 2 people from there and you would receive better help from a dog ---‐--------- Purchased a new keystone cougar through the syracuse store back in February and just now getting it from service 2 months later which I get that everything can be delayed from the distributors and that there was a good 20 things wrong with the unit however after finally taking delivery of it disappointed would be an understatement. Especially after I call weeks prior to receiving it to double check that a good amount of things were not on the work order and was told after double checking that it was all set, whats the point of a walk through if your only going to fix 1/3 of the issues no less all covered under warranty. Now after countless phone calls to the service manager with no response I'm stuck with a lemon and a Shi* service department along with a sales lady that doesn't have a care in the world. Stay clear of this place and keystone, this is our 6th camper and both experiences have been the WORSE! Update: Day 2 of looking the camper over and being outside with the sun finally being out I noticed the ladder was swapped since all 24 old screw holes are visible and a botched paint job in the rear. Where the re attached it to the roof they left the membrane bubbled up and did a poor caulk job. Now it all makes sense why they brought it inside with poor lighting Again STAY away from this place Update 6/23: Still only 25 percent if the things have been addressed even with it being in the shop close to 3 months. Found out through another camping world that the damage that was done to the rear was covered up by the syracuse store. Even with all the calls we make to get things resolved we only get a call back half the time. We even said we would still work with camping world on getting into a different unit and was told from Mat the manager that we would have to take a $20k to get out of it. Well it seemed to start off well, but then the attitude started when our female sales women seemed to think we were wasting her time because we said we had other places to check out, this is how I feed me family so if your wasting my time and so on is how she went off I'm like wow but my husband gave me the don't say anything look lol -so we saw one there we liked in the higher ranges so we got a Montana 5th wheel we get the camper to our spot and I open the drawers and there's mice poop in there that I have to clean out which I already explain to them there or when I open the doors they said they were gonna do then I get it to my spot and no they didn't do that. I have to sweep. I have to mop out the vacuum just they were supposed to do the whole all through and I guess they just forgot maybe but yea not the best experience but good products there read more

5 years ago we bought our original Coleman camper at camper world in syracuse. It has electrical issues that couldn't be fixed so we had to return it choose and choose a different camper, we ended up with a towable mallard which was great. We had some issues then that needed fixing and each visit we had the "fixed issues" were done poorly. Campers are not inexpensive we expected good quality service and care. Recently we decided we were going to upgrade to a fifth wheel with more space which would be more suitable for our growing family. We intended to find and purchase a camper that day with full payment. We visited your syracuse location to look at the inventory available. We went inside to check in and the gentleman at the front told us we could go wander Around at it own pace and that most of the campers were unlocked and available for viewing and when we found something we liked we could call or come get a sales associate. We went over to the lot viewed one camper and all of a sudden there was an associate at the door asking what we were doing. We told him about the gentleman at the front desk telling us to browse around at our leisure and be just said okay and left Upon walking out of the camper the associates were going around locking all of the campers. This was Saturday morning. Soo the campers were left unlocked all night long and then during business hours are locked? That doesn't make sense. We stopped one of the associates a blonde woman who basically told us tough luck and proceeded to give us an Attitude and told us to go back inside and Check in again huffed at us and turned around asking away. I don't appreciate how we were treated at all especially considering the amount of money we have already spent with your company and the issues we've Already endured. We ended up going to another RV store immediately after this encounter and purchased a $70,000 fifth wheel. Really it's a shame that you missed out on such an easy sale due to such poor customer service. I'm writing you this to inform you of the issues B at hand. Maybe this Is how your company chooses to operate maybe your associates need training. During our meeting with the finance guy @ Camping World of Syracuse my wife & I were recommended to purchase the extended warranty! Both of us directly asked Bill if the ext warranty covers damage to the awning. He looked at us and verbally stated yes, if damaged by weather it will cover the Arms for the awning, however not the cloth material. Fast forward a few months later to this weekend (14Oct23) upon returning to our camp we found one of the awning arms to have been damaged! Obviously upon contacting service department we were further informed the extended warranty does not cover any damage to the awning and was not sure why we were told this. I was told to make a claim with the insurance instead. After messaging corporate of Camping World I received a call back stating again they do not cover damages to the awning and apologized if I was misinformed. However, stated they could do nothing about the misinformation due to a customers word against one of their employees! I was told corporate doesn't deal with HR so nothing they would do. I was advise to call the Syracuse Camping world and cancel the extended warranty if I don't like it. We understand Camping world not covering damages to awnings as it's probably the #1 claim for campers. However, to look us in the face and straight lie in order to us to pay extra for a extended warranty is shady! The fact corporate wouldn't even entertain looking into this finance person and say I could be the lying is even worse!! I will never buy a single item from Camping World nor recommend anyone to do so either! If you choose to buy from them, please make sure you are not getting scammed when it comes to the warranties!! read more

When I wasn't looking they slid in an $11,000 warranty on my $18,000 trailer without ever showing me a total on the warranty. Who needs an $11,000 warranty on an $18,000 trailer? I like the trailer a lot, but really feel like I was screwed hard with this warranty that's only good for 5 years. I can see that making sense on these half million dollar RVs but how desperate are they for money to screw me over like that? read more

One star given because ZERO stars is not available....... No doubt, I will get the same prepackaged response that everyone else gets with a bad review. A year ago we bought a weight distribution hitch for our toy hauler. Camping world installed it. I was asked to bring my F250 and toy hauler in loaded like we would be using it, so I did. After installation, I took it on a trip, trailer was still all over the place when being passed by big trucks on the highway. Truck front end was still high. After a couple long white-knuckle trips, I was ready to buy a fifth wheel toy hauler. A few days ago, I stopped in there to buy a taillight lens, a few common generic RV fasteners and get some washers so I could adjust my hitch. Parts guy was too busy chatting with a customer about nothing in the store or camper related, so I waited just to find out that they had nothing in stock on my list. Went to service to inquire about them adjusting my hitch because it was obviously not doing what it was invented to do. Got a blank stare and was asked if I wanted to "make an appointment to have air bags installed in my truck because that was the obvious solution". NOPE, that fixes nothing, truck is not overloaded, still have plenty of spring travel! Yesterday, I decided to trouble shoot why it seemingly was not doing what it was supposed to. I measured everything out, discovering it was installed wrong! Brackets that go on the trailer "A" frame were way off, one was too close to the ball, other one was near the max. The "L" brackets were two holes too low, hitch height was 2" off, ball head angle required two more washers. Everything that could be adjusted to level the trailer and set up proper weight distribution was done incorrectly, by a wide margin. I calculated the begining weight distribution with what they set up and it was at 32%. (between 50% and 100% is your target). When I got done following the instructions, the front-end rise was negligible, weight distribution now calculates out to 93%. It was loaded identically to the way they had when they installed it. I would not trust these folks to work on a skateboard. Never spending another dime with them.... read more

This is the absolute WORST service department I have experienced! We paid these people THOUSANDS of dollars to fix problems that they never fixed! In one instance we bought all new tires for our RV from them, brought it back because they were vibrating and they assured us that they were perfect, installed correctly and guaranteed our safety. Guess what?? One of them blew out on the highway because it WAS NOT installed correctly and nearly cost us our lives! DO NOT take your RV here for service! Go to Burdick! While I liked the sales department enough to go against my friends suggestion to not do business with this camping world their warranty department is horrible. I noticed some minor flaws during our pick inspection and they noted them and "placed" a warranty claim order for us. Move forward 30 days and nothing after several calls they again "placed" another warranty claim for us. We have since moved across country and still have received nothing we are going on 7 months and nothing from the company. I would think with spending 40k on a trailer they would be a little more responsive. I will never do business with them again and wrecommend to anyone that listens to never do business with them either. Update Jan 2019 Well here we almost a year into ownership and still haven't received all my warranty items. After many calls and emails I have only received the door knob that we found damaged on our acceptance inspection. The service department was only 1 of 4 Thor RV authorized facilities in the Central New York area able and willing to help us replace 2 dangerous defective over heated coach batteries in our brand new motor home. Service advisor Paul Baxter coordinated the emergency effort and we were very appreciative. The mechanic (EG) who diagnosed and performed the swap did an excellent job. We also needed an engine oil change which the Syracuse Ford truck dealer refused to do. Paul suggested a local independent auto/truck repair garage who completed the job in 10 minutes. Camping World could have provided this service but was in the midst of a surge of appointments. Being from out of state we can honestly say this was the best Camping World service-sales-store we have ever seen. Our sincere thanks. read more

Bought a used Hybrid camper from this place Buying was great. they took my money now they are sitting back and laughing because its the biggest piece of junk ever. Took it back within 30 days and they said they were going to look at it and work out soemthing for the repairs its used im willing to pay to fix but they have had it over a week and havent looked at it yet . they just say its in the rotation meanwhile i have to cancel all the my plans for camping for the rest of the summer because they cant even give me a time they are going to look at it. I am giving a 1 star because I can not give 0 stars. This morning we left our home, 30 minutes west of Pittsburgh, at 5:30 AM and headed to Camping World, in Syracuse. We had an appointment at 2:00 PM with Jake to pick up a 2018 Palomino real-lite pop-up truck camper. We had talked to Jake on the phone, agreed on a price, Jake assured us there was no damage or repairs (remember this bit of info for later in the story). We did all of the paperwork online and put a deposit down on the unit. We were set and happy to finally have found a fairly priced used camper. We were set to arrive at Camping World earlier than our 2:00 PM appointment time, I called ahead, spoke with Riley in service, I asked if we could come in early, Riley replies, Sure come on in we can get you started with your walk through (another bit of info to remember for later) We arrived at Camping World at approximately 12:30 PM. We checked in and was directed to service, we spoke to the woman there, who's name escapes me at the moment, so I will call her Stella. She told us to, wander around and she would find us when a tech was available to do our walk through. Ok we wander around, look at all they have to offer. We wander back to service and inform Stella we drove a long way, we have been waiting too long already, we want to get going because we are tired from the long drive here and we have a long drive back home. Stella again tells us she is working on getting a tech, I tell her we were told by Riley to come on in, we could start our walk through. Hubby again tells Stella we need to get moving, at this point Stella looks at us and says, "Your appointment was a 2 sooooo". Ok, we have been patient now, Stella has to get her attitude going and I have had enough. I tell Stella, Yes our appointment was at 2, however Riley told us to come on in. She just looks at me and goes back to her paperwork. Now, we ask for Riley, Stella tries to call him, (so she says) and she informs us he's not at his desk, so she tells us she has sent him a text. 10 minutes pass,,,still no Riley. At this point I tell my husband, I think you need to find the manager so we can get going. Husband heads to find the manager, I follow a few steps behind, and guess who I run into,,,Riley,,right there, not 30 feet from where we were standing,,I guess Stellas text didn't make it to him at such great distance. Husband talks to the manager, manager comes out, he gets the ball rolling and in 5 minutes we are finally going to see the camper. Approximately an hour has passed and we are just now going to start a walk though. A nice lady comes out and takes us to the service bay where the camper is so we can see it. We walk up to the camper, 2 seconds pass when we see the BIG hole in the side of the camper. I lose my s**t, I say some inappropriate words, which I apologize for, and I am pissed. Husband is pissed also. We head back to find Jake our salesman, we we tell Jake what we found, he walks back out with us, looks at the damage and tells us.."I didn't see that before" I said I specifically asked you if there was damage or repairs. Jake again says, he never saw the damage. We ask HOW didn't you see this!! At this point I can not be sure the exact order things happened because I am tired, mad and hungry. Jake offered us a gift card to make it right (still thinking we are going to buy the camper, like a CW gift card is exactly what we need now), the manager wants to know how we can get this deal done, manager offers to HIDE the damage with a FAKE light or FAKE vent, husband and I talk, we go out to inspect the camper better. Inside we see the damage has come all the way through, inside the cabinet the wall is broke from the damage outside. A really nice service bay guy, shows us the camper, (this man was the only one nice so far, and he was really nice, Sorry long gray haired man I never got your name). We consider,,,can it be fixed, and what that will entail. About 30 minutes pass when husband asks, the nice service bay guy for a ladder, husband wants to check out the roof, service bay guy brings the ladder, husband climbs up, 15 seconds pass and husband says,,,I don't want this, the top is twisted at the roof lift arm. There is such a gap he can put his fingers in it. Nice service bay guy, goes up the ladder and inspects the damage, he agrees. We go back inside, to see the manager and Jake. They are both standing their ground that no one there ever saw this damage (HOW?!?!) We tell them the deal is off, manager asks what he can do to make the sale and would we take it if they repaired it...lol...thats a hard NO. We leave CW and start the long drive home. So because CW of Syracuse tried to sell us a junk camper, we are out the fuel money, all the toll road money (If you ever traveled in NY you know there are MANY tolls), and the worst thing we lost is an entire day of our lives that we can not get back! Below is the email that I sent Camping World Headquarters. I am writing to inform you that the worst shopping experience that I have ever encountered happened today at Camping World, in Syracuse NY. My wife and I have been contemplating purchasing a New Motor Home for about 6 months. We finally decided that now is a good time to purchase. I am in no way exaggerating my sales experience. "Kelly" was the Sales Associate. We went through multiple units and I decided on what one I wanted to purchase but they had to bring a duplicate unit from another store. No problem, so I thought. She took my preliminary information and had me fill out a credit application. As she was leaving, I stopped her and explicitly told her that "I do not want my credit run because there is no deal written" No Motor home stock #, no price, NOTHING !!! I WAS NOT comfortable with that arrangement and told her so but she told me that was their standard procedure, to "trust her", and she was "only" a sales associate and had to do what she was told. I didn't trust the information or her but She assured me that my credit wouldn't be run until I had a purchase contract but the "sales manager" had to locate the same motorhome and fill out the purchase agreement. All lies. I'm waiting about 10 minutes and I get an alert from My Experian App on my phone alerting me that Camping World Syracuse, NY ran my credit. I got up and approached Kelly and the Sales Manager and told them that Kelly assured me that my credit would not be run until I had a purchase agreement. Sales manager, and I quote "we didn't run your credit" I accused him of lying, and he got upset with me, including raising his voice to me. That was very quickly resolved when I opened my phone and showed him my Experian Credit App and showed him that 10 minutes earlier I received an alert from Experian stating Camping World Syracuse NY, with correct store address did in fact pull my credit. He was speechless for 10 seconds and then blamed me for signing the credit application. I questioned Kelly about her unprofessional and deceitful actions and she could not respond. They ran my credit to see If 1 approval status.I'm already approved with a bank and I told Kelly that 2 based on approval status, I'm guessing it was a sales tool to see how much of a deal they did or didn't have to give me 3 sales tool to use against me in my trade in that had a minimum of $5000 equity and as high as $7500. No matter the reason, I was lied to and deceived in the worst possible way of any purchase that I've made in my life. I am 57 years old, well educated and my wife and I make a good income. I have purchased multiple homes, vehicles and even a new RV from the Camping World Syracuse store 6 years ago. That deal was as expected, great RV for the price, everything was upfront and truthful. I will never do business with Camping World anywhere, ever again. I will never recommend Camping World to anyone, ever again. I will be finding review sites to let everyone know how I was deceived and that the sales tactics are seriously unprofessional. I expect honesty and a fair deal with any purchase. I didn't get that and I firmly believe that many customers receive the same treatment and most likely do not realize it. Thankfully, I have the Experian App on my Iphone to catch the absolutely awful deception that Camping World in Syracuse NY used against me. Tim K. If Customer Service is important to you, this Parts & Accessories store is not for you. After standing in eyeshot for 15 minutes to ask a question, because the only two employees working were chatting and laughing with one customer, I politely asked for help and was told to hold on. When Shane (I believe that's what they called him) could free himself up, he assisted me with the most miserable attitude I've ever seen in customer service. Rude and miserable are extreme understatements. Shane then proceeded to hand me what I needed and walk away as he watched me walk to the register and wait, so he could go back to chit chat in the group. It was not until several minutes later when the customer said "I think she wants to check out" they decided to split and walk up for one to check me out, where the employee then proceeded to call me "hun". Avoid this franchise for 'regular' shopping. I've tried giving them the benefit of the doubt over the last 4 years. But I've had consistently poor experiences there with the service department ordering where they would order the wrong part and I had to pay for return shipping, etc. Shop around and you'll find much better service, cheaper. I've returned several times for propane fills only to be made to wait or told that the 1 guy that can do it had left for the day or was busy elsewhere. The floor staff was friendly enough, but the management doesn't seem to put the 'customer first', highlighted by an experience where both guys able to pump propane were 'unloading a truck' and couldn't do it. Not really worth the price of 'Good Sam' membership when they make using their services so difficult. read more

My initial review was positive...however it went downhill quick as soon as the deal closed. Suffice it to say we have had our new camper for a total of 3 weeks since we closed the deal July 4th (now September 23rd). The service department, and communication from anyone there, including GM is extremely poor. You have to show up in person to get an answer, phone calls and emails go unanswered. The camper has been in for repair since July 30th, it is now September 23rd. This was a simple repair covered by insurance, they have been paid $1600 for it already...and still no camper. I emailed a week ago today for an update, NO answer. Add to the fact that the Good Sam coverage is useless (called to use and they said because we weren't roadside we weren't covered?!), calls and emails to try and cancel it are unanswered/unresolved. It took several weeks to get things done that were promised when purchased. We still have a broken recliner and a malfunctioning fan. Its safe to say I would NEVER ever again deal with this company. I will drive across the country if I have to to find a dealer not affiliated with camping world for service in the future. If I could give negative 5 stars I would. read more

It all started ok we were offered pizza because they didn't want us to leave . 2 days later we were doing paper work on our new class c motor home when my wife saw a 21000 dollar discrepancy in the price. We were told it was a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty.We told them we didn't want it. I would think that should have been discussed before the sale so it was taken off. Then we had to go back for warranty work. there were 2 items the first time. we went to use it and both items were not fixed so we went back and were treated like crap the second time by the same guy. It cost us 100. dollars each time and it still was not fixed. then the third time we went out every thing in the back went dead so we called the 800 numbers so we could get the jacks to go up so we could drive it home. This class c had 17 issues between the front and the back and I was told it didn't qualify for a buy back. we ended up selling it back to a different Camping world at a huge loss. we couldn't use it without a problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT. I already had bad experiences with Camping World in other states, but there was a hard to find camper, recent year, at this location, so I braced myself and dived in. The unit itself was not in best of shape, not as good as it looked in pictures, but I made a deal with the salesman (the only good thing about the place - Steve Woods tried to fill in the complete lack of follow up customer service as best as he could, I really hope he finds a better place to work that matches his own standards). So anyway, the disaster that is Camping World started post sales. So many things, I'll just enumerate them: 1. For my walkthrough, I was assigned a retiree whose first question was "are you familiar with this unit?", and when I said yes, I'd done a lot of research, he basically said good, because he'd never seen one before and this was his first time seeing this unit! The unit was NOT prepped for inspection - no water in the tank, etc. It took a couple of hours just to rally some of the other techs to prepare it. (during which about 5-10 gallons of water got dumped all over the driver's seat area when the water fill was left unattended) All the loose parts and stains I had pointed out before making the sale had NOT been attended to at all. And some of them would not get attended to until I got it home. Turns out that to get coffee out of the headliner, there's no magic process - just some elbow grease. Too bad it had to be MY elbow grease. Took another hour for someone to tighten up some loose lamps inside. There were sensor wires left hanging underneath, someone "tucked" them under (they were hanging again by the time I got home). The hot water heater somehow worked for a few second but guess what, never worked again (and won't until it's replaced). To top all of this off, the retiree was more interested in checking out how the repairs on his own, private pickup truck were proceeding two bays over, than rallying people who could actually help me. I felt bad since I figured he was just in it for health insurance and I know how that is, but you know what, if your sole job is to show people how their RV works - at least read the manual and check out the coach before you do so! 2. It took another 1-2 hours to get the black tank dumped. (which it never did get dumped, as the wrong valve was being release) When I casually asked around where the dump station was, all I got was glares, and muttering that "it's out there - but I think someone already did it". 3. One of the problems in inspection was a missing remote for the Fantastic roof fan. It has no controls on it so it NEEDS the remote. They agreed to "order" me one. The shop manager sent out a new-on-the-job (2nd day or 3rd day) to find and document the "serial number" so they could get approval from somewhere after getting a quote. I showed him, there's no serial number! It's just a fan with an infrared remote! After explaining this for the umpteenth time to the shop manager, she ran through the store, grabbed what looked like the exact remote needed, threw it at us, and said something to the effect "you really think THAT will work?!? go ahead, try it, then come back when you see it doesn't". Well guess what, as soon as the other guy unwrapped it and pressed the button, voila, fan opened and turned on. I cannot imagine why they wanted to collect serial numbers and take photos except that they were doing their best to grind me down and not give the part. 4. When I got home I realized they'd unplugged the camper - but left the power cord in the shop! Rather than just send me a credit or a new one, they took their time to send me the old one that assumedly was the one it came with. Against my better judgment I scheduled a service appointment at CW Syracuse for a pair of recall items and a minor house water pump repair. I had long ago sworn off CW due to issues with previous camper and motorhome warranty work. As CW Syracuse was the closest repair facility, I made the appointment. After I was informed that my motorhome was ready for pickup, I scheduled a pickup time and called 1 hour before my arrival as requested. After arriving, I had the misfortune of dealing with service advisor Steven Miller. Steven was rude and verbally abusive when I asked why I was made to wait for motorhome. He couldn't locate my paperwork or answer any of my questions regarding my recall work. He did advise me I could call tomorrow and talk with the the tech that handled my unit. Needless to say we both exchanged words as I once again reacted to the poor attitude that seems to be pervasive in this organization. As I knew that my bill was going to be minimal I chose this location as a matter of convivence. I vowed years ago to never buy a camper from CW anywhere. I have been true to that promise, on my third motorhome that didn't come from CW! I will now be adding, I will never again set foot in a CW anywhere. Service department/warranty work - they want NOTHING to do with you! Sales department is great, however after they have your money, Camping World doesn't know who you are. We have been trying to get warranty work completed on our 2022 Freedom Elite Thor (brand new $100k+) - and have been getting such terrible service! They did a walk through and said "Don't worry, we make an appointment and get all of the warranty repairs completed." We're still waiting and when we called Thor (who covers Camping World repairs), they informed us NO warranty parts had been ordered yet much less completed. read more

If there were zero stars that's what they would get! BUYER BEWARE !! THIS HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!! Where to start, ok the beginning I purchased a brand new camper and the the salesmen told me that they would install the hitch I already owned with no charge then when I went to pick up the camper he stated that It would be $350 to install it which consisted of 4 bolts the hitch was set up Not having tools with me I had no choice. Then when I get home I noticed the microwave was not secured and hanging out no screws in it at all, the entry door would not secure without using the dead bolt and all the interior doors had scratches with deep groves in the pocked door I couldn't see them going threw the walk threw of the camper. After several hours on the phone countless e-mails I finally got it in. Then when I picked it up a instant water heater was stolen from inside my camper, the door still didn't close right several more e mails and countless phone calls not returned I finally went to another dealer but couldn't get it repaired there under warranty so back to camping world. They finally replaced the entry door, the door had gaps where you could see daylight on one side and the silicone around the door was smeared all over the side of the unit. They did not attach the aftermarket screen door handle I installed on the new door I notified the service agent so he sent out a guy who tried to screw the screws in the brand new door without pre drilling pilot holes mangling the new door I told him to stop and that I would do it. More phone calls I kept getting the run around no response to my e mails and phone calls. I then filed a complaint to the better business bureau. Then they finally called I brought it back Again driving from Rome to Syracuse each time. They fixed the gaps but the door still didn't close right and then when I get home my led lights were taken from under the kitchen counter and about the tv console on the roof. I called again sent to voice mail again after calling several times I finally got the service manager Mike I suggested that one of their service techs must have taken it for another camper he said no, so someone must have broke into my I assume secured camper while on their secure lot and taken them. Not the tv or other items of value but they went in and looked under the kitchen counter and in the cabinet on the ceiling and just took them. They have the worst service department I have ever dealt with. Our next RV I will buy elsewhere. For a simple recall we have waited 3 months for the recalled shower door to come in and now they have had our RV almost 3 weeks waiting on other parts in which they knew we asked for months ago! Buy elsewhere with a good service reputation. As for the response... Do you think I haven't complained to others who work there? And don't even get me started on the attitude I get from the ones I speak to especially in the service department! They don't try to accommodate us and to have our RV longer than what we were told is completely unacceptable. I would rather spend a little more to get better service. We bought a brand new Thor Ace in 2016 and we noticed there were a few small things broken like the charging station within a few months and then we were told they couldn't get it in for 6 weeks or so. By time we got around to it it was no longer covered under warranty. And no the extended warranty we purchased does not cover it. Never again. When we purchase another in less than 2 years we will definitely go elsewhere. read more

Well finally after 1week shy of 9 months taking our 2018 brand new camper we bought in September of2017 home. Which had a RIP in floor, Used it 2x,asked for A NEW floor or new camper. They said they had to repair it. (Which was a HUGE FAIL both times . After 8 months of arguing, contacted a lawyer they decide to replace the floor. Floor still is not right must be when they put it In they ripped it and repaired it. But i am so done with all the rude,the horrible service, lack of return phone calls, lying to our face, things still were not fixed when we got there, so again waiting. THEY HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THERE LACK OF Communication. I would not send my worst enemy to CAMPING WORLD SYRACUSE . The worst service department I have ever dealt with! I'm a very easy tempered person but when I spend tens of thousands of dollars you'd think the service after you purchase a RV would be bar none. I've called more than 8 times over a two day period to find out the maintenance status of my RV with zero reply! The only way I've actually made head way was showing up personally to get some information. I haven't tried other RV maintenance locations in the Syracuse area yet. Tried to stay here overnight as part of the Good Sam membership. Needless to say this place is very poorly maintained. No dedicated drinking water, electricity post (only 30 amps) gave poor power that could damage your RV. Free Wifi does not reach this area (I wonder why). We purchased an RV this past November. Our budget was set and we were worn out from weeks of searching , (oh did I also state that we were against a time deadline that was quickly shrinking),it just so happened that we were in time for a sale on inventory. It was our day of blessings! Not only did we get the right price and rate but the sales and finance team were extremely helpful. I later found out that everyone had been working many hours, but you would never know it. Each detail was worked out with courtesy and a happy nod to our enthusiasm. They were wonderful in assisting us with a purchase of a new camper. However, after the sale, the experience was atrocious, Talk about taking your money and running. We found several major defects that would not be typically identified in your walk through. Such as the under carriage not bolted correctly. A serious safety hazard there. Our countertop had a large crack in it, hidden by the service man performing the walk through and several items that came undone with 24 hours of sale. Faulty craftmanship all around. However, it was the communication and follow up from Camping World staff that made this entire situation beyond acceptable. They will not answer questions directly, barely respond and have yet to correct the problems three months later. This was all reported within 24 hours of taking receipt. Also, take into consideration that we paid for the additional warranties. Buyer beware. They are splendid at sales and make you feel special. Once you sign, forget about any customer or product service. They are horrible. read more

A few weeks ago, our RV experienced a power surge during a lightning storm. While our RV was plugged into a power source, our main circuit board and circuit breakers arched, sparked, popped with smoke coming from the unit. Under the refrigerator and from the outside radio/speaker unit as well, and where there's smoke? There's usually fire, so yes, we were concerned. The electrical outlets, lights, microwave/convection oven, refrigerator and generator were no longer functional. We contacted our insurance company and were given a few options of where to take the RV for a diagnostic appointment. We selected Camping World of Syracuse, as there were 90 minutes away. We were somewhat familiar with the area as he had been going to Syracuse National's car show for 20+ years. We made an appointment for a Saturday to take the RV up to be dropped off (as we knew it was not going to be a quick fix). We missed our exit on the way to the appointment and called to let them know that we were running about 20 minutes behind schedule. When we dropped off the RV, we attempted to relay to the service representative (Steve Miller) what the issue was. We asked if three times if someone would want to look at the RV prior to us leaving it on the lot and did they wish to look inside to see where the smoke/fire occurred. Camping World's representative's response was "No, we are ok. Not necessary." The representative then slapped a sticker on the RV and told us they would call with an estimate. Great! Well, SIX DAYS later??? We received an email.... NOT a phone call! They were unable to work on the RV in the condition that it was in and needed us to "put it back together". Now... the only thing missing that needed to be put back was the circuit board cover and the panel where the generator/ water pump switches were. The couch was in the flat/bed position as without power? We could not put the couch in the upright position. We did not want to have to drive another 90 minutes ONE WAY to put on a cover and screw in a panel. We called and finally reached a service representative, Krystal, and said forget it. (Their VRU - voice response unit- is a nightmare trying to reach an actual person to speak with!) NO ONE... including General Manager Kurt Schroeder returned our call ....We spoke with Mr. Schroeder who assured us after speaking with him, that he would find out what the issue was as to why they would not work on the RV. He took down both of our phone numbers and well.... here we are TWO WEEKS LATER and MR. SCHROEDER???? We are STILL awaiting your response via phone/email/letter. (In my opinion, I think they just didn't know how to do the work and would rather price gouge customers for wash/wax, oil changes, etc. Simple stuff.... Our insurance company referred us to another RV dealer in Bath, NY named Wilkins RV, Inc. They can be reached at 607-776-3103. Let me tell you something....Camping World needs to take customer service lessons from them! I explained to Annemarie that we had a terrible experience at Camping World. I also informed her that the RV was not just an RV to my boyfriend, but rather a part of his deceased's wife's dream with him to travel before she became ill with cancer and passed away. The RV held huge sentimental value for him and it was like losing her all over again if it could not be repaired. Annemarie took down BOTH of our phone numbers. She asked if it was alright to text us if needed and stated that she would call us that week. We dropped the RV off on a Monday and by Thursday she had texted and called us! (Our appointment for the RV was scheduled for Thursday, but due to work schedules, we were able to take it on Monday.) Unfortunately, the electrical unit cannot be fixed due to the difficulty of obtaining parts due to the age and upgrades on the unit. BUT... they were willing to LOOK at it. She also stated that because I had given her the history of the RV and how much it meant to him, she thought it would be better to hear the disappointing news from me. Now... that's customer service!! Caring and honesty!! Wilkins RV you are WONDERFUL!!! THANK YOU!! Camping World?? You are truly horrible and could learn a thing or two from Wilkins RV! I hope that anyone considering purchasing an RV or taking one for service at Camping World will think again!!! At Wilkins RV, you are not just a number or a dollar sign. You truly are a valued customer (whether they can fix your problem or not!) We will DEFINITELY be recommending Wilkins RV to our many friends with RV's for service. One of the worse experiences buying anything if it wasn't for my girlfriend loving the camper we would have walked out they tried to bully us into paying more than we were approved for the payments ended up being 50$ more than what they originally told us then the guy we did the final paperwork with got visually agitated and aggressive when we told him at the new price we couldn't afford the warranty (we now have a camper with no warranty) and started slamming papers down and snatched the warranty information back and kept making offhand comments (he was almost told to f*** off and I was gonna tip the paperwork in half) even the guy he was training looked uncomfortable with how he was acting and apologized several times when the guy left the office then when we went to pick our camper up we made an appointment and had to wait over an hour past our scheduled time for a technician to finish detailing a different camper when one finally brought our camper out the tech helped back me up to the camper then asked if we had any questions I said we were told when we bought the unit that a technician would do a complimentary install on the weight distribution hitch he said we could do it later or we would be charged to have them install the hitch so I left there without a weight distribution hitch which in the paperwork it states that it is required to have a brake control and a weight distribution hitch and now I get my camper home and the battery is dead and I haven't had the thing for more than an hour at that point and I'm sure I'm pretty much going to get told it's my my problem when I call there tomorrow because I don't have a warranty that I was screwed out of by their employee I already tried contacting someone higher in management and haven't gotten a reply so if you're looking for a camper go to Myers or Wilkins anywhere but camping world *update* after reading everyone else's reviews looks like not getting a warranty was a blessing it appears to not be worth squat anyways read more

Purchased a new 2017 freedom elite 26he.Just what we were looking for.Salesman Josh was very nice and knowledgeable.Had my hesitation to buy. Enter salesman Tyler.Wouldn't take no for an answer.Very convincing.Did a walk thru and pointed out some items that needed attention b4 delivery.Tyler assured everything would be great. Suffice it to say I wasn't surprised to find about 1/2 of items pointed out were fixed.No better than average experience.Upon getting home where i could get underneath I found wire harness hanging rear ground. Evidence no undercarriage inspection b4 delivery. After paperwork,plates swapped there wasn't so much as a thanks for doing business. Not impressed. read more

I purchased and paid In full for the awning and installation. It took 2 months to arrive due to corona virus. It took me 5 phone calls and a call to corporate to get that answer. Once the awning came in they called me and said you can come get your awning. I said that we paid for the install and they said oh someone will call you. Two weeks went by and I had to call to find out why nobody called me and set it up. They made me an appointment for Friday at 11 am the camper was there at 9 am. They called me the next day at 450 pm to tell me it was done. This is a roughly 4 hour install normally. Oh and they close at 5 pm so I had to take time off from work on Monday to go and get it. To top it all off I go to pick it up and they want to charge me more money for the install saying I only paid a deposit. I have never heard of paying a 95% deposit. The manager was rude and wanted to not help me. I am sure most people do not look at the bill and just pay. I'm not one of them. Do yourself a favor steer clear of this camping world as they don't care about you or your camper. When I opened the awning there are boot tracks all over it like they just layed it on the ground and walked on it. Worst professional install I have ever seen. After the get you 30 + k you are on your own, they use every loop hole in there service contract, you get better service from buying a camper off Craigslist.
