This is a letter written to Camping World of Syracuse after employees of that organization…read morecontinually called/texted/emailed us for 3 weeks after being told that we wanted nothing to do with them. You are now the 4th or 5th person from Camping World to reach out. As I've told everyone before you, there is nothing you can do to repair our experience with your organization, nor to help "navigate" us through another RV shopping journey. We purchased a camper from you. We specifically asked if this particular unit would hold resale value. We were told that it absolutely would. Three years later we've been offered 1/3 what we paid, the explanation given has to do with NADA values and such. In other words, contrary to what we were told, the camper didn't hold it's value. Oliver's Campers gave us the best trade-in offer, explaining that they were "going over & above to earn our business." An organization we had no prior relationship with made it a priority to "earn our business." That concept spoke to my wife and I. We do not intend on giving our future business to your organization, mainly because, you were not willing to go "over & above" to retain our business. As an example of our loyalty, we have not only bought 5 vehicles from Dovi Motors over the past 17 years, we have also recommended/brought friends & relatives there that have also bought multiple vehicles. We are loyal to those that we feel treat us fairly. We thank you for the education you have provided to us in our first, and now second, RV shopping journey. We will not soon forget this experience. With the epic failure of attempting to rent kayak paddles at Puddle Dockers, we hit EMS instead. ¡IMPORTANT! If you read nothing else, read this. If you're looking to rent a kayak or paddles, look no further. ¡IMPORTANT! What would have cost us $20 a day (returned by the end of that same day) to rent from Puddle Dockers ended up costing us only $5 per paddle per day from EMS... returned by close of business the -following- day. You do the math. Plus, the store itself is huge, it sells tons of other outdoorsy gear, it's climate controlled, carpeted, and has funny, helpful (not to mention super hunky) staff. Admittedly, our sales associate had to figure out just exactly how he was supposed to check out paddles to us, but got it all sorted out with a little free humor and wit thrown in, gratis. Basically, it's everything that Puddle Dockers wasn't. Seriously. Catch my drift? [No pun intended on that last bit.]

I had come to Auburn to visit family. It had been raining all week. I was so ready to get some time…read moreoutside. I had been talking to one of the owners, Audrey, and managed to arrange to go over after the rain stopped yesterday. It turned out to be a stunning afternoon. The water was completely clear and almost flat. I took out a kayak first. Then went back and joined a small group for a stand-up paddle board lesson. The owners are very personable and knowledgeable. They give you life jackets, and a whistle, just in case. They also had a bunch of dog life jackets. It's $18 for an hour on the paddle board and $12 for an hour on the kayak. They have the $2 park parking passes there. Weather permitting they are normally open from 11am-6pm during the summer. If you have a group, you can also call ahead and arrange a time that works for you. They can also deliver the water toys. If you wanted to rent boards for a party or for a weekend that could probably be done as well. I'm kinda bummed my birthday is in March! As it is, I'll definitely be back.
