DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRAILER OR RV HERE!!!!!!! When I say that my husband and I experienced the most shockingly HORRIFIC customer service of our lives, it is a GROSS understatement. The neglect, belligerence, and apathy demonstrated by the manager and service staff at the Avondale, AZ Camping World location was astonishing. Never have I ever experienced such blatant and willful disregard for a customer. We purchased both of our trailers from Camping World and I can assure you that we will never patronize another Camping World for as long as we live. We purchased our newest trailer less than a year ago from Camping World and then received some manufacturer recall notices. We contacted the nearest Camping World which is 2.5 hours from where we live to set up a service appointment. We arranged, after much difficulty, to drop off our trailer on the way to CA and then pick it back up on our way home four days later. Our service advisor assured us the work would be completed by then. The day before we were scheduled to pick up our trailer, we had not heard from our service advisor so we called to inquire about our scheduled pick up. Our service advisor notified us that our trailer, "hadn't even been looked at yet" and, therefore would not be ready for pick up. This meant that we would have to now make a separate trip to pick up our trailer. It took a total of TWO MONTHS for them to complete the recall notice/warranty work!!! When my husband was finally able to pick up our trailer, he opened up one of the storage areas in our trailer to discover that our hitch and two large bins of tools were missing. When he asked our service advisor where these items were, the service advisor admitted that they had experienced a break-in at their lot a month prior. The service technicians left our trailer storage areas UNLOCKED and, subsequently, we were robbed of thousands of dollars worth of equipment and tools. The service technician then notified my husband that Camping World was not responsible for any theft or damage that occurred to our unit while it was on their lot. My husband stated that when we left our trailer to be serviced, he and I had double-checked that all doors and storage areas on our trailer were securely locked because we knew it was going to be left unattended on the lot for several days and nights. The service technician told us that we have "no proof" that we left our unit locked or that their staff left it unlocked. The staff continued to insist that Camping World was not responsible and that we would have to run the claim through our insurance. My husband said something to the effect of, "So, YOU left my trailer unlocked, YOUR lot was burglarized, and yet I'M responsible for the theft of my property?" To which the staff replied, "Yes, that's right." It was at this point that my husband asked to speak to the manager. After waiting patiently for the manager to come out to speak with him, my husband was informed that the manager would not, in fact, speak to him. Mind you, the HITCH was stolen and my husband had no way to tow our trailer 150+ miles home. To put the cherry on top of this unbelievable situation, my husband then discovered that Camping World hadn't even completed one of the most critical recall/warranty services we had requested. Oh, and my husband had to purchase an $800.00 hitch from them in order to tow our trailer home. I am not someone who has EVER written a negative review of a business, however, the flagrant disregard for customer service by this Camping World location is beyond the pale. I get the *distinct* impression that they honestly don't give a sh%t about their customers beyond getting a sale. Save yourself the headache, gaslighting, and disrespect, and take your trailer or RV elsewhere. read more

Great sales service at this camping world. I was lucky and got Mitch as my salesman. He answered all of our questions. There was no pressure to buy unlike a lot of other rv stores I've been to. I ended up buying a 5th wheel at a great price. I will also continue to shop at camping world for accessories as well. Thanks again Mitch and christy. Edit: I am still pleased with the buying process however buyer beware. The 2 biggest reasons for buying this unit (auto level and pre wired WiFi) both did not work once I got home. I called and this location does not offer a mobile mechanic and is booked for at least 2 weeks. Now I have to come out of pocket for something that should be working in the first place. I am a first time RV buyer. I looked for over a year and found the floor plan I wanted at Camping World. My wife and I were greeted by a smiling and eager to please Greg Bennett and I am so glad he chose us to serve that day. He listened to what I wanted and didn't try to sell me on anything else. It must be difficult to work with people who really have no idea what it takes to own a travel trailer or even how to get the thing off the lot. I would recommend them to anyone who is in the market especially newbies because they do know their stuff and will help you all the way. The MANAGER "Mike" is a complete ass and said it can't be returned because it's opened. After calling customer care at camping world direct they said I can return it!!!!! He has no customer service skills. I've never been to a store who does not stand to help their customers. This product is new and not compatible! The service department has no respect for schedules, or personal property. While the service advisor was nice, it was obvious the service manager/ department had no coordination or communication. Lights were left on and the refrigerator was left on. I now have a dead battery and low propane. The work was completed a week late after a trip was cancelled due to the trailer being held longer than promised. I would not advise the service here unless you have absolutely no schedule and can be without your RV for longer than expected. Make sure you read the findings carefully, as they are often not completed. read more

We bought a brand new Forest River from the location in Mesa and was pleased with the sales and service. We had it out for the third trip and during this trip noticed a few things that needed to be fixed. The manager on duty at the Avondale location was not helpful. He told us we couldnt leave it because there wasnt anybody in service to leave it with in case something was stolen. Scary to think thats what his concern was. We offered to lock it up and was still turned away. It isnt terribly convenient for us to get it there during their business hours due to where we store the trailer and where we work. I would suggest taking your trailer somewhere else if you are looking for service. I am also open to suggestions. read more

My experience is so much like the others on here that it is scary. First off, this is mainly directed at the service and parts dept. We bought a new travel trailer and the sales experience wasn't too bad. The facilities are nice and they have free coffee and popcorn--so that is good. The shopping/store is nice as well. Here we go: The service and parts dept is so incredibly unorganized and poorly managed that it blew my mind. We had several issues with our new travel trailer (I won't fault camping world for that) but bringing it in and leaving it with them has been an absolute nightmare. Lost/missing parts, calls NEVER returned, no answered phones, clueless staff, etc. has been the absolute norm. On more than one occasion they have said: let me look into it I will call you back in a few minutes.......NO call the entire day or ever. Seriously?? Who does this?? I am really upset that I may have to go back in the future unless I can find somebody to do warranty work on my trailer. The thought of bringing it back makes me absolutely sick. Right now I have nothing wrong with our trailer--so I am not some buyer who is disgruntled with his purchase. I even waited a month or so to write a review just to cool off and make sure that I wasn't dreaming. In my life I have never encountered an organization/business with such absolute lack of leadership/organization/efficient customer service. Camping World: if you have a corporate headquarters and happen to read this, you NEED to send your guys down and clean house. All the managers and general manager need to GO (Fire them immediately if you have any respect for your brand name)! There is a reason that all of the other reviews on here are only 1 star. I would LOVE to give this place a good review--especially since we live nearby, bought our trailer from them, and would love a local company to do business with. I am considering driving across the valley to go to the other camping world--but just saw some questionable reviews on their store as well. What an extraordinarily horrible experience. The trailer purchased in the spring has been in repairs since BEFORE Labor Day! They have kept the trailer without ordering the parts. The parts are still not ordered as of today. The GM Tom Alexander states he will resolve this issue. He is unwilling to even look at the account while we are in the room with him. Fishy much? We are supposed to hear from him today. I asked for invoices as well and he tried to ignore my request. There will be follow up postings. And by the way, i had to make a rating of one star in order for this to post....they deserve nothing currently. 12/3/14 Update as promised. Received call back last night as promised by GM. Also received call this a.m. from Service Advisor, Darrell. They are still "looking into" the issue. Two more weeks for the correct tent fabric, sigh. No up date on side panels, diamond plating and hot water heater issue. Keep in mind people....this trailer only went back to this dealer because of a warped side panel! Purchased in April 2014, used ONCE, and it has been back at dealer since. It took a MONTH to get appointment to get it in. And she has been there ever since. Love paying on something we don't get to use. Love making plans and scheduling time off for hunting when the dealer can't seem to fix one issue and then poor staffing creates many problems. New to the RV world and needed an upgrade so we bought new Keystone Bullet RV. Sales was great very helpful. Once everything was said and done, I took my RV into the service department to get some warranty work done and have never had so much trouble to get feed back on what's going on with my RV. If this is any indication of how this company operates . I'm looking at all the reviews and what I'm reading I'm surprised this company is still in business. If minus stars could be a rating that is what I would give them. We went to Camping World in Avondale to purchase or order parts, which ever was needed. Upon entering the 3 sales clerks at the entrance were too busy talking and laughing to see if we needed any help. We found the parts department to be waited on by the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to, was no help what so ever and actually made fun of us until we finally got through to her that we were talking about the heater and she was talking about the air conditioner. She continued to be sarcastic about us being able to order parts. We left, got in the truck, drove to Tom's Camperland to be met by a very helpful knowledgable staff and a parts department that is trying everything they can to get us our parts in time. Exact opposite of Camping World. We will be getting a new trailer in the near future and will definitely go to Tom's Camperland. read more

BEST REGUARDS YOUR RV BUYER ADVOCATE.... I think about this for a second do you think for one minute when RV dealerships take a whole bunch of motorhomes to a big tent event do they send the week sales reps or do you think they send the sales reps they can chew you up and spit you out you will never know what happened until it's too late Take a look at this long checklist below these are things that RV buyer should know about The most important functions of an RV are not listed on their list. Items like the 1. LP gas furnace does it leak LP GAS ? 2. The LP gas hot water heater. 3. The LP gas stove. 4. The LP gas refrigerator. 5. The ammonia gas system in the refrigerator does it leak ? 6. The power supply converting 110 V AC over to 12 V DC. 7. The complete plumbing system does it leak ? 8. Does the plumbing system have a water pressure regulator 9. The sewage system the black water and the graywater tanks do they leak ? 10. All of the 12 V system batteries ? Are they holding a charge 11. Does the complete electrical system on the 12 V DC side have any battery drains ? 12. The air conditioning systems the dash AC and the roof AC do they work properly. 13. Does the roof AC unit look like it's properly secured to the roof where it will not leak water when it rains ? 14. Does the shower or the toilet leak water underneath that wood rot the wood out under Neath the shower or the toilet ? 15. The water pump for the RV aspect of the motorhome does it leak it does it maintain normal operating pressure ? 16. Does any aspect of the RV have rotten wood ? 17. Does the LP gas system have leaks anywhere throughout the system ? 18 does the LP gas regulator maintain a normal operating pressure without league downs ? 19 does the RV come with all of the owners manuals for safe and normal operation knowledge ? 20 does the RV have leveling jacks to do the work without hydraulic leaks? 21 has the LP gas furnace been checked for any carbon oxide leaks ? Which can be deadly if not check properly .... 22. When driving the motorhome does the motorhome engine charge the RV batteries properly ? 23. Does the motorhome have slide outs and are they properly aligned so they do not create drag to wear out the electric motors ? I could make this list five times longer. When a RV dealership does not perform an LP gas system leak check is that a safe situation for the consumer or a unsafe situation for the consumer ?? A lot of people don't understand propane and the functions of propane. They don't even understand how explosive propane is. Let me explain how explosive propane really is. 1 liquid gallon of propane in your propane tank is equal to 270 gallons of explosive vapor 10 gallons of liquid propane in your tank is equal to 2700 gallons of explosive vapor 30 gallons of liquid propane in your tank is equal to 8100 gallons of explosive vapor 50 gallons of liquid propane is equal to 13,000 and 500 gallons of explosive vapor if released into the atmosphere because of a leak inside the coach or outside the coach read more

First, let me start off by saying that Tara Z is my wife. She left a negative review due to the frustration of dealing with Camping World prior to this review. We had some warranty work that needed to be taken care of on the new Springdale that Hal sold us. We love this camper but a few things never were right... Like the battery, the blinds coming down off the walls, the windows in the bedroom leaked, the ground wire post on the hot water heater some how broke, the kitchen faucet leaked, and several other issues we found while using the camper. Believe me, we dreaded taking it in because of our collective experience with the service department. We were introduced to Daryll, the assistant manager of service. Not only did he make sure all of the warranty items were taken care of, he also went above and beyond by taking care of the little things we hadn't seen. We even got a fresh battery for the smoke detector! Paul, one of the service techs, has been awesome to work with. He did our initial walk through and answered all our questions with ease and expertise. Alberto, another technician, is the one who worked on our RV. When we picked up the trailer from the warranty work we were able to meet him. One of the blinds was coming down and I asked how to remove the curtain hardware to access the top of the blinds. Daryl called Alberto over and asked if he could help us out. Alberto went above and beyond by removing it himself and demonstrating how to fix it if it falls in the future. Both Daryl and Alberto went above and beyond. This experience and the level of communication has been really great. From Kim making sure I had access to my RV when needed to the one guy who I always forget his name at the service desk coordinating the initial drop off. Camping World, please let this experience be an example to everyone involved to show the success and level of performance you all are capable of. THIS is how your customers will come back. THIS is how you gain loyalty and build even employee competency. Celebrate your successes and learn from the failures. Well done guys. read more

We bought a 2019 Freedom Elite and the day we bought it sales person was very nice, and finance person was nice and got us to take options we weren't going to get. We had a service problem that had to go to Ford for repair then back to Camping World for other repairs. In the mean time we found we could refinance the loan for a much better interest rate and payment. We went in and filled out the paperwork to cancel our gap coverage. We were informed it will take about 6 wks to get it. Well that was May 23rd when we started this and I've called 2 times and keep getting the run around with no answer or results. If we ever get our reimbursement we will NEVER use Camping World for anything. Be wise, shop or do your business any place but NOT Camping World. read more

Anyways, I bought a 9000 pound toy hauler from a dealer in Texas. I had them tow it to Phoenix Arizona where I met them with my truck. This big pig was pushing my Excursion all over the place . You're amazing, friendly staff installed a weight distribution thing with in an hour on a SATURDAY at 11:30 am. That is amazing service! Greeters, service writer, installation staff do a great job. After reading a lot of the comments, I almost did not right this review because it seems that this camping world is a disaster on all levels. We have purchased three trailers over the last few years from Camping World & in general have received pretty good service from them, however the last 5th wheel we have purchased a little over a year ago was great, unfortunately life has changed for us and we needed to dispose of it for health reasons. We went into see Ryan Johnson & talk about selling it back to Camping World, the process seem to go smoothly until we didn't get our check from them when we were told we would. Ryan seem to be confused about a lot of things but the big lie was it would take three days to get a check, fast forward one week and no check, Ryan played dumb and blamed the lady at Mesa corporate store for the problem, I asked to see his boss and he pretty much refused to let me see him. He said he would follow up on the delivery of the check, which he did not do, I actually called the lady at Mesa Corporate and spoke about what happen to my check , she told me some guy in Chicago Corporate office had not signed off on the check yet, long story short everyone is blaming someone else for the screw up. However they were able to take pictures of the 5th wheel and post the 5th wheel for sale on their web site very quickly, even though they technically don't own it because they didn't pay me for it. So I wait for my check, unfortunately this is a familiar story! So I have a few suggestions for this dealership, first train your people not to lie to the customer, second be honest about what and what not you can deliver and third if this is how you operate your business people should stay away from doing business with you! read more

My RV coach batterys were not charging. I called Camping World RV Sales of Avondale, AZ, a Good Sam authorized dealer. They said, "Bring it in early". I did that the next morning as advised, arriving at or about 7:30 to 8:00 AM. I paid my bill of $541.62 and checked at 2:42 PM. I waited about 7 hours. The two coach batterys came to $300.46, labor at $202.50, plus shop supplies and taxes to bring the total cost to $541.62. I consider the labor exorbitant and the time to replace two batterys and fuse outrageous. The administration of this Camping World was not existant and the tech testing and replacing the fuse and batterys must have been a novice. I will nothing more to do with Good Sam Club and Camping World. Reason of review: Poor customer service. Monetary Loss: $100. Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution. read more

Needed a pressure gauge for our Rv water hose connection. Went to the store in Avondale and found the gauge priced at $62. Decided to check prices on Amazon and found the exact same gauge for $28. Check amazon before paying camping world prices. Store however is very nice and organized. read more

This has to be the most dishonest place I have ever dealt with. Took my RV in for oil change and was told it would be $199.00 ( cummins 369 diesel). Also asked them to remove washer and dryer unit(quote $135.00) service three slides, and tighten up kitchen sink faucet. (quote $135.00 said they had to remove duct work) . When they were done it was $245 for W/D removal , $279 for oil change. When I got it home the faucet fix lasted 2 minutes, I fixed it in 5 minutes without removing anything but a drawer, they left the hoses hooked up where the washer was and one valve eas still on, the adjusting bolts on one of the slides was not lock set. $1000 for a complete sham job. They refused to honor any of the mistakes they made. Service techs had to be without experience. Management has no respect for customers. Do not go here for any service needs. read more

My husband and I bought a 2021 fifth wheel at the end of august we have had nothing but problems with the trailer and service. My husband travels for work so we are living in the trailer. The trailer has been in for service twice already and needs to go in again for the same water leaking issue that has just gotten worse after we've gotten it back. Not to mention the last time we took the trailer in some of our personal belongings have gone missing. The service desk doesn't answer the phone and won't return our messages. Now they have the rig in the shop ....because it wasn't even prepped for WiFi .....we paid 160.00 to have a mobile RV repairman in Prescott to come out and get on the roof .,,not even prepped for WiFi ....the refrigerator went out and molding is popping up everywhere ....had to cancel our honeymoon for next week and our reservations at a RV resort .....they don't call u back and just because they f the largest ....they think that they can just sell and walk away .....this has been a very sad experience and very exhausting to wait and wait for any word from them ..... read more

Just drove all the way from Southern California to Camping World - Avondale to purchase our 2017 Keystone travel trailer, purchased specifically for a trip the end of June - $18k later we have no hot water heater because they cannot seem to deliver campers with working components. When you turn on the hot water heater in our 2017 brand new Keystone camper a fire ball explosion occurs but sadly no hot water. #safety-issue, nonworking critical component. They had my husband himself calling around to every RV repair in SoCal looking for someone to repair their poor delivery and inferior work product - no luck. First available repair August - both the Keystone factory and Camping World dealer have done nothing to resolve...purchase your RV somewhere else, very disappointing customer service!!! read more

My husband and I contacted Avondale Camping World to put our motorhome on consignment. After we got there we decided to buy out right cash for a keystone cougar travel trailer, everyone there was more then happy to take our money heard it through The walk-through and got us out of their hair. First night on the road our refrigerator went out we called Avondale had a hell of a time getting people to call us back when we finally did they made an appointment for us in Las Vegas, when we got there it was a blown fuse not a regular fuse, And in-line fuse which only a technician can change, when my husband asked if this was usual they said no it hardly ever happens but they are six fuses on back order from the Dometic. Any case we spent the night in Las Vegas just to make sure the refrigerator was working, we left this morning and we are in Tonopah Nevada and guess what the refrigerator is no longer working. We call again to Avondale expecting some help and after several calls we finally get a man call Steve and what does he say " what do you expect me to do I don't have a crystal ball" I am so very angry and upset I'm afraid to stay in this unit because first thing that normally happens is the refrigerator catches on fire. And the people in Avondale don't seem to give a rats ass what happens as long as they got their money. No I do have to say there are some nice people there but I need help and the people that are there right now are not very competent and they need fired.And if you're looking for a used unit you might find a decent one whatever you do do not buy a new one they did not even have the refrigerator plugged in. read more

Let's start of with in the beginning which was sept 2019 a d now we are April 2020 I had some work done a front to back check of my motorhome and some other service done total was over $2000. One item I wanted replace was a light that no longer worked seems simple when i got my motorhome back in January 2020 (in thier defense i was out of town the last 2 weeks of December) but they had been informed about my departure. The technician left every light in my coach on of course I didn't know until I got home and plugged it in suddenly it lit up like Christmas. Obviously all my batteries where dead, to make matters worse the light fixture they replaced was right outside my shower next the bed the old one had a switch on it so it could be turned off the new one did not, so the light is always on, I notified the service advisor right away and was told they would order the right light and install it, now mind you that was in January just last week (end of March) I checked in with the service advisor for the 3rd time and after 3 months still no light so I went on the internet found the right light ordered it on monday and got it today Wednesday 3 days I think I need to be the parts manager for camping world. So I will install it my self and expect a full refund of what they charged for the light and the labor to install it. I will be there tomorrow with bells on to talk to leadership if there is any. read more

I still have issues with this company, but not with the service people. Phillip and Darrell are great to deal with and just as frustrated with the system as anyone. The main problem is they take in too much work and make promises they can't keep. I spoke with a couple today that have been dealing with a leak issue on their travel trailer for two and a half years.
