MY FAVORITE PLACE So I'm a snowbird, actually son of some snowbirds that don't stay down here any more. I miss those vacations but I come down on my own every year or so and this is my favorite restaurant. Funny story my mom was shopping 3rd street so me and pop waited here and had a couple drinks. Dad hands me a $50 spot ok go get a couple cocktails. No change. Hilarious! It's not THAT expensive but it's right up there with the best of them. Fancy staff dressed to the nines. Rich clientele. Excellent food and great atmosphere. I remember back in the day I ordered the cheeseburger and it was just great. Still on the menu! Today for lunch I did the spaghetti & meatballs. Just perfect. I texted my brother I don't know how one place can do pasta so much better than another place, but here it's the best. Just wonderful and $20 something. My lunch with a couple beers was $30. Not bad at all for the best place in Naples. And that's saying something. First class. It's the best place you'll go all year. But don't take my word for it. Just go anyway. read more

Great vibe, delicious food, friendly bar staff ( I ate at the bar) and good vine selection. The picture of my Garganelli dish doesn't do justice how delicious it actually was. Pricy but worth it. My wife and I have had dinner here a few time and last evening was another excellent experience. We made a reservation in the club room which can be very relaxing be reserved the bar or outside which's the busy. Tonight the club room was packed with families and a little loud. We started the night with a martini. Although the drink was perfectly made we do prefer a larger martini glass. Not necessarily to have a larger drink but simply to allow space so we do no spill when we pick up the glass. We shared a chopped salad. Which was perfect size. My wife Alicia ordered the salmon which was excellent. I was in the mode for pasta so I asked our waiter denis, who by the way was excellent waiter, so I asked denis who recommended two types. When I decided he offered to split the order so I had a taste of each and I loved the linguine with clam sauce. Overall tasty but noise on this holiday weekend read more

Beautiful restaurant with great outdoor seating & ambience. Caesar salad: it was pretty standard, had good flavor. Spaghetti & meatballs: the meatballs & sauce had great flavor. The pasta was al dente, maybe could have cooked for a min longer. Good portion and overall delicious dish. Pappardelle w/veal & red sauce: delicious. The portion was perfect for me. Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. The place was super packed and we were expecting a fantastic meal. Unfortunately it was just so-so. I'll start with the positives first - the place is beautiful. We sat outdoors on the patio and really enjoyed this area. The inside was really beautiful too. The food was also pretty tasty, but not out of the world. Honestly the reason I (or anyone else in my party) wasn't so impressed was that this place is so insanely overpriced it's ridiculous. We ordered the scallops with truffled mushrooms for $40. Our dish came out and there were literally three scallops (medium size, not even jumbo). They were tasty, but we were so disappointed by the small plate. We also ordered the pappardelle with veal, which was super delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and veal sauce was tasty. Sadly, we won't be coming back here. If you don't mind spending a lot of money on small portions, you might enjoy this place more than we did. read more

We dined last year & this year here for our Anniversary. We had no complaints. The wait staff came by at each course & were prompt & helpful. Everything was great, especially the muscles appetizer with a touch of sausage, the Pork Ragu Pappardelle was amazing as usual and I had the veal Milanese very good & plentiful ; although the excessively fried breading was a tad too much but certainly very flavorful. **THIS IS WHERE YOU COME TO SEE AND BE SEEN** *We were told the "4% service fee" is for all the extra Covid losses from having to hire/buy extra cleaning and staff, it is not part of the tip (they should call it a covid fee)* Beautiful ambiance full of gorgeous preppy people This place is totally a hangout for the locals It's located in a picturesque área We ordered the dish they're known for... some sausage pizza, a caprese salad, and wine The bread came out and it was not warm and the butter it comes with was hard as a rock. The bread had a very harsh seasoning (anis?), not my favorite. I'm not a sausage on pizza fan but the pizza was pretty good. The caprese salad didn't taste like anything. I ordered balsamic vinegar and salt which it didn't come with (to fix it). I make this at home all the time... mine is 100% better. Even the vinegar was bland! The server disappeared on us but he was very nice. All the servers seemed really nice. Went to the Club Room the other night. This is the same room they hold meetings and receptions... ok but not plush. We found the music great but the atmosphere lacking. The service was not on par with the billing. I ordered a pasta entree which was good, expensive and small. My wife had the Salmon which was good. Overall, not worth the price... better options elsewhere minus the music. Oh, and don't forget to PURCHASE some bread, in case you are hungry!! read more

I rarely rate a place this highly, but this restaurant and the wait staff are deserving of 5 stars with the experience they offer. Our waiter James made our time really enjoyable, you can tell he likes what he does and knows his stuff. He made us laugh and took really good care of our table. Two of us got the pappardelle and it was the best I've ever had. The pasta was heavenly, light as air and just superb. The veal tomato sauce was spectacular. The pappardelle and sauce complimented one another, I could have eaten another plate of it. While a tad too salty, the escarole was very tasty, perfectly crunchy and umami. All four of us really enjoyed our meals, we even got a dessert when normally we wouldn't. I highly highly recommend this place for the food, ambiance and great service. Just left Campinello restaurant with my sister for lunch. We frequent the restaurant during season. Being here for one week during off season we thought we would take advantage of their 2 for 19.00 Lunch special. Big rip off ...the first course we choice was a salad...the size of a coffee saucer. Second course was a piece of chicken...the size of the palm of my hand. The drinks were &17.00 each Turned out with tip 2 lunches for $95.00 Will not be going back in season. We had a wonderful time at Campiello! The food, service, and ambiance were all great! For appetizers we had the tuna tar tar and bruschetta and they were amazing! And for dinner we had a collection of things but our favorites were the balsamic beef and garganelli! I have been going to Campiello for 23 years, live here full time. The menu has had a lot of changes and not for the better. The braised beef used to be short ribs, not anymore also the pizza(always delicious) do not use sopressata but hormel pepperoni no more chicken Gorgonzola. Prices escalated! Run don't walk to Campiello. The food is amazing and so fresh. My husband and I had the new pepperoni pizza, 1/2 seasonal truffle pasta, 1/2 linguini and clams. And I had a really tasty espresso martini. The pepperoni pizza has vodka sauce, red chilies, and stracciatella cheese (the inside cheese of burrata). Very perfect twist on a classic. You instantly can tell that the pasta fresh and just melts when you eat it. Tip: our amazing server (blonde from NY) said we could order half portions of pasta; GAME CHANGER. Con: we had a reservation for 730 and when asked if want inside or out. Inside was ready but outside was 45min. Inside was fine, just a heads up. read more

No, we do not charge a cake cutting fee.

The gluten free menu lists several pasta dishes including pappardelle. Is this a mistake or do you have gluten free versions of several pasta types? Usually I see only one type of pasta offered as gluten free (ie penne).

We can substitute gluten free pasta on all of our pasta dishes. The accompanying sauces are gluten free.

Is your patio pet friendly?

Yes! Our patio is pet friendly. Per the local health code, pets must be seated on the ground. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring your well-behaved fur baby.

Sonia was our server and I think she's also the owner, she seemed to know most of the customers there, many who also spoke Italian. My fiancée had a craving for lasagna and at first we didn't see it on the menu but Sonia pointed out that it was called Trio dello Chef and came with cannelloni and manicotti. Then she said "you only want lasagna? That's fine!" Very accommodating. The lasagna was amazing and came with a side salad but I think I was more surprised that our two side orders of garlic bread and meatballs (3) were probably the BEST I've ever had! Really happy that we found this place on Yelp!

Let's start with the atmosphere: this is not a fine dining establishment, especially when you compare it to everything else you get to experience on 5th. Some of the most upscale and beautifully adorned restaurants and businesses call this street home, but we chose Pescheria for a moderately priced meal, which is not what we ended up having. It's not a terrible atmosphere, but it's certainly casual. My whole group was very disappointed to learn that this restaurant only serves beer and wine, which further entrenched our belief that we were at a casual, affordable establishment; frankly this should've been the red flag to go elsewhere, but it's pretty slim-pickins around the dinner hour last minute in Naples, so we stuck it out based on the great reviews. The bread service is good, but don't bother asking for butter, they said they have some but never brought it to the table. They do have a great wine list, especially if you like Italian reds; definitely the best part of the experience. Our group ordered two of the Dover Sole special, a pasta dish, and a grilled branzino. I'm partial to both of the fish; some of the branzinos and soles I've had have been memorable and delicious, so I do tend to seek them out. If you also love branzino, you probably know that $50 is on the high end of what you would generally pay, and Dover sole might get you up to 60. If you eat in restaurants, you also know that it's common practice for servers to tell you the prices before you order, so you don't have to embarrass yourself by asking for the price of a dish you want and then denying yourself because of the price. Here, they don't tell you the price, and if you're an idiot like me you'll just go ahead and order it assuming it's reasonable like the rest of the menu. My branzino was $70, and the Dover sole was $75, and frankly I wouldn't have ordered them at all, let alone paid a fortune for them after I tasted each of these dishes. Branzino was cooked nicely and deboned well at the table, but that's pretty much it. The fish had zero flavor whatsoever. The Dover sole had flavor, but it wasn't a good flavor. It was fishy. And when we told the staff that the fish was fishy-tasting, they argued with us incessantly even though we told them we're not asking for a discount, we are simply letting them know so they pay attention for the next diners, but that wasn't good enough for them. They continued to argue with us before we finally told them to walk away and leave us alone. So in hindsight, there isn't a thing that would bring me back, not the atmosphere, frankly not even the wine list (it's Naples, throw a rock in any direction and you'll break a great bottle of wine); not the service, not the price, not the cocktails, not the food. And if none of those check the boxes, somebody please tell me what the appeal is, because I'm not seeing it. Don't worry though, if you don't like your meal you'll be gaslit into thinking it's fabulous because the server can show you pictures of himself fishing (I'm not making this up).

I have been to this restaurant several times and usually compare their linguini with clam sauce dish with others for its distinctive taste, because it is delicious. I am from NY, and was looking forward to enjoying the meal at Campiello's during my trip to Naples, for I wasn't going to leave without crossing it off on my "to-do" list. I was unpleasantly surprised when the waitress informed me the menu recently changed, but she assured me that the only difference was 1) the separate monthly menus catering to different regions of Italy, and 2) that the usual menu's pasta would be exchanged for homemade pasta. My linguini with clam sauce was from the usual menu. I asked her to confirm that there was no tomato sauce in the clam sauce (as I am allergic) and that the clam sauce was white sauce, and she confirmed that it is a clear sauce, and she also confirmed that all else is the same, and that the only change is the pasta. Ok, so I ordered it, trusting her words. When the dish arrived, I was disgusted. Every mouthful was filled with red pepper and chili pepper. It was disgusting. I called her over and showed her that I used to love to be able to spoon the broth to sip it, but now didn't even want to drink it at the least and she said that the staff recently tested this dish when they changed it and didn't know that they added red pepper and chili pepper to it. I said that they obviously changed more than the pasta to the recipe. It was not the same recipe I was used to that I compared as the best to all the rest and I am broken hearted. I will never return here again. I have a bladder condition and can't sustain spicy foods. I explained that to her and she said that it's up to the customer to tell that to the waitress what allergies the customer has. Well it's not up to me to know that's in the meal if it's not listed on the menu or if she doesn't communicate that to me! I inquired with her if there was tomatoes and she said no. I didn't ask if there was red pepper or chili pepper because why would I when she confirmed that nothing else in the meal changed besides the pasta? It wasn't in the meal all the other times I ate there! I am very disappointed. This restaurant lost many loyal customers tonight just from this meal. read more

This historic Third Street charmer caught my eye during an earlier visit to town. I took note of the low lighting and fresh, Roman bistrot-style decor (dark floors and woods, light walls and upholstery). Came in on a Friday for dinner at 8 with a reservation requesting a window or corner seat, neither of which was available. No problem! Rather than keep us standing, the manager showed us to a decent table and let us table hop after we had a glass of prosecco and perused the menu. We were given our choice of a window seat or a cozy corner on the banquette. We observed the staff working together seamlessly to manage a larger and demanding group with skill & good humor as they helped us relocate. Settled into our new seats, the manager helped us choose a lovely Italian red wine that was new to us but ended up being a perfect pairing with our orders. He was knowledgeable on the wines & pairings and shared that there will be upcoming wine pairing dinners. We were perfectly paced as we dined. Our trick is to enjoy several courses, sharing as we go, and make an evening of it. The staff did not rush us and the kitchen even plated our courses separately. Many places are not so accommodating! Now for the food! A plain fresh Italian white bread and a Rosemary yeast bread were served with a fruity, mellow olive oil for dipping. We started with lightly grilled calamari, tender with char marks. The house insalata mista was next; deceptively simple as it was a wow. Fresh, lightly dressed, and perfectly sized. Our pasta course was Seafood Risotto, and it was perfectly al dente and creamy with generous helpings of shrimp, scallops and calamari. We cleaned our plates with bread the sauce was so good. Our secondi was the best Veal Saltimbocca I have had this side of the Mediterranean. Dessert was a creamy and tender almond cake I must go back for. None of the bitter aftertaste of some almond desserts, and lovely with hot, full- bodied coffee, a snifter of Amaretto, and a complimentary sample of the intensely flavored new Sambucca Black. Food was ok but there was a definite need for a change of attitude by owner and chef. Waiter was fine but we had an issue. Eight diners entered with a reservation and were prepared to spend amounts commensurate with menu prices. However we were offered a special prix fix menu that was very attractive. Immediately upon greeting us our waiter told us that two of the five or six special entrees were sold out. That, understandably, can happen but when I asked if some other entree on the regular menu that is offered at the same price as the regular price of the sold out item could be added to the prix fix menu he said that he intended to ask the chef the same question and would let us know. Ok, not unreasonable. He came back a few minutes later and said that chef was unwilling to do that and it was what it was. That did not seem reasonable to me. Had my wife and I been alone we would have left and eaten elsewhere but we were a group of eight and finding another table for so many people was not an option. We ordered off the regular menu and the food was fine, not anything special but OK. As we were leaving we were approached by a gentleman dressed all in black who asked about our meal. I said the dinner was fine and he then interrupted me and said , "But? I know there is a but coming". Right away I realized that I was dealing with a poor businessman who needed an attitude adjustment. Eventually treating customers like that catches up with any business owner. I told him about our experience in connection with the prix fix menu and that the whole way we were treated left a bad taste and that none of our eight people would ever return. We are longtime Naples residents. Haven't visited Campielo in a couple years and have heard bad reviews from several friends. We were actually going to Tommy Bahamas across the street but the place was packed so we decided to go to campiello's for some early Appetizers. It was last Sunday 3/19 in the afternoon about 3:30 or so. Tommy Bahamas had over an hour wait there for good reason. Food has always been spot on and excellent service. Went to Campiello and nobody was seated outside on the patio as they were not seating anywhere but the bar because they were between lunch and dinner. When the matre'd told me this, i should have just left but we found a couple seats at the bar. From there, it went down hill. It was a full bar and the the bartender, obviously a seasoned bartender, seemed to be too bothered to take care of us and acted like we were a bother. Once we did get her attention, we ordered a couple drinks, which she brought and then continued to chat it up with her friends across the bar. Finally had to flag her down for menus and again 15 minutes later to get her to take our order. No big deal, just ordered a flat bread which came out and was fine. However, not once did she check on us to see how the food was or anything. I guess the negative reviews that i have heard are definitely right on. Take my advice and skip Campiello and go to any of the other restaurants on that street. They are all way better!! Dont be disappointed with average food and poor service. read more

Unacceptable Takeout Experience at Campiello in Naples, FL I am compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with the takeout service at Campiello in Naples, Florida. Our order, placed promptly at 5:00 pm, was promised to be ready for pick-up within 30-40 minutes. Upon arriving at 5:45, I encountered confusion at the hostess stand as they struggled to locate our order. After an extended wait and reconfirmation, I was informed of an error in transmitting the order to the kitchen. Despite my patience, the subsequent wait extended to an additional 20 minutes, only to be told that the kitchen was just initiating our order. At the 25-minute mark, the assurance was that it was almost ready. After paying and enduring an extra 15-minute wait, our food was finally handed over. However, the added disappointment was that one item (pork shoulder) was still unavailable. Compounding the frustration, upon arriving home, we discovered that our 4 pizzas, 2 pasta dishes, and appetizers were all cold, further diminishing the enjoyment of our meal. This, coupled with the lack of clear, consistent communication between the hostess stand, kitchen, and myself, has left us utterly disappointed and frustrated. Leaving the restaurant at 6:45, nearly two hours after placing the order, falls far below the expected standard. When my family and I go to Naples, we come here. We became good friend with this sweet waiter Michael. We always asked for him when we goes there last 10 years. The foods are always so good. Even tho the drinks have their up and downs last few years you have to find right drinks that you like. I am more of wine person, martini can't always go wrong. The Cosmo sometimes have its good and bad so my mother would just get fresh lime juice with vodka as martini. It's a place to go for people watching ( oh yeah you can see a lot of weird people) The atmosphere are beautiful cozy and so relaxing. I usually sit outside next to the bar inside where i get both inside and outside which is perfect. The meatball always had been my family's favorite. A lot of people loves their calimari and flatbread pizza. Michael is always so sensitive to my food allergies so I know I can always count on him!!! read more

Checked out a few restaurants while visiting Naples this January but Campiello was certainly the stand out -- came by without a reservation and even though they could have been annoying and told us how busy they were, they offered us a table and gave us a loose out time and next thing you know we were seated outside receiving the warmest service and best classic Italian food. Wine list also excellent and straight forward and server was more than happy to let me try something before we took a bottle for the table. All in all, great place. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in Naples and has been since we moved down here quite a few years ago. The staff are always so friendly and remember you each time you come in. My husband and I like to stop by the bar for a glass of wine and their delicious calamari during the weeknights. It is always the one place we take friends to dinner when they come in to town.
