Pretty spot in downtown 3rd Ave shopping area. Had to go quite early to get a reservation and the place was packed inside and out. Nice outdoor dining but tables are packed in very close. Good early special menu - tasting menu looks very $$$$ but is actually not bad when you consider the quality wine pairing. Our server was very friendly but we never saw her after bringing our drinks. Runners served our food which took quite a while to arrive and sadly was cold. Obviously it sat too long waiting to be picked up. Server response was 'don't know what I can do about that'. read more

I am a sucker for authentic Italian, beautiful scenery and romantic lighting. On that note, this restaurant had it all! First let me start off by saying that we did not have a reservation. We were told it was hard to get in here without one in advance- just so you know- you may have to plan ahead. In the beginning of the evening, we met with friends at Cafe Lurcat. We then asked the server if she could hook us up with reservations to Campiello. She said it wouldn't be a problem. 20 minutes later, we are walking into Campiello like we owned the place. Maybe that's the secret? I don't know. Our server was very cool and friendly. This place is breathtaking. It's elegant, and sexy and fun. It was so busy and completely full. I still am not completely sure how we got in, but I'm not asking too many questions. I ordered a peach tea type mixed drink and it was dangerous, because it was made so well, I couldn't taste the alcohol. Smooth. We ordered the bruschetta, and it was the best I've had. It was very fresh with tomatoes and olive oil and the perfect amount of balsamic and herbs. For dinner I ordered the herbed chicken with rosemary potatoes. The best Rosemary potatoes I've ever had. Crunchy on the outside, steamy and soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was also perfectly seasoned, and in fact covered with so many fresh herbs and seasonings, I was speechless. I have to say that was also in the top 3 best chicken dishes of my lifetime. Maybe it was that delicious peach drink that made everything that much tastier? I don't know- I don't care, because we will be back again, and I will order that drink again. :). This restaurant is a must if you are in the Naples area. First, forget coming here during season. One of those places that locals stay away from. It budges out to the street during dinner, from late December to March. The bar is situated next to the side walk, add the live music and although there are two floors here and plenty of seats indoor and outdoor, it gets too crazy for me. The local senior singles scene love it. So we, married, wait till summer to come here. Awh.... Sigh. Begin with lunch, it is open 7 days a week. Prices are high but the have lunch specials. First, there are many entrances to this eatery. You do not know which door to enter and where the check in hostess is. It is inside, past the outside fountain by the way. Once we walked around and staff were pointing the way, we were greeted and welcomed by the hostess and later by the manager. Server appeared rather late. We requested inside with a/c (we are locals remember? ) next to another patio that cannot be seen from the street. It was not cleaned and kept, obviously saved for the snowbirds. It was beautiful though, looked like New Orleans, the black iron fencing around the second floor landings. I would have still swept it, for a restaurant asking $$$, we were surprised it was just "let go". If they wait till Halloween, it would make a good scary movie set. Service was not the best. It seemed like only one person was serving and a few customers were spread throughout the inside and outside. We wished she would have checked on us more. There is no gluten free menu and the server claims to know it all, if I asked. Not what I prefer to do. They have one vegetable plate but charge almost $17 for it. They serve veal and that was a real upsetting read. Now the reason for the 4 stars, although the chef deserved 5.... for the gluten free spaghetti. Not your usual restaurant rotini. It can be subbed into any pasta dish except the meatballs. We had clams with white wine and garlic. Amazing! Also a Cesar salad. Both from their lunch special $14 . Tip: They come together, so ask ahead of time if you want your salad first. We were too full for dessert but they have many flourless choices, the most I have seen in an Italian Restaurant. Chocolate lava cake, Butterscotch pudding, Key lime, gelato, etc. all around $10 One last thing, especially if you have kids and come here. Tip: the restrooms are Outside, you walk out the side back into a covered small shopping mall. It is shared with the other shops there. That was a surprise to us and if I had kids, or a drunk friend, I would definitely accompany them. I know "it's Naples" but these days, why take a chance? read more

I came here on Mother's Day for lunch with my boyfriend and his parents. There were lots of flies and ants flying about because even though you are inside, the doors and windows are open. The menu is quite small with limited options for entrees. First we ordered a bruschetta appetizer which basically looked like a jar of chopped tomatoes dumped on baguette. The bread was very soggy and there was too much olive oil drenched on top. We ordered starter salads and small pizzas for our meal. The pizzas were average at best. The salads were pretty good. Nothing was particularly worth the price. We left wishing we had gone somewhere else given the price of the meal. Overall it was an okay experience. read more

We have been coming to Campiello's for almost 25 years and our recent experiences prove the point that other people keep making: the place is not living up to its longtime reputation for excellent food & service. Last night was a great example of slipping standards- my son's drink was served in a cracked glass, we waited 2 hours and 20 minutes for our food, which was disappointing- my son ordered a crab pasta special and the cost on the bill (undisclosed by our waiter) was a whopping $72. - for a bowl of pasta in which you had to really look to find the crab meat. I ordered a $25 glass of Cab- the waiter suggested I try an Italian Sangiovese instead - I agreed - shame on me for assuming the price would be reasonable for a glass of mediocre Italian red wine - again when I got the bill - the cost - an eye watering $49 a glass - yes you read that right for 1 glass of wine -$49. The upselling of our waiter was shameful - finally you have to wait in a place packed to the rafters with people jamming the bar, making a LOT of unnecessary noise and jostling our table when they pass. This place needs more people to weigh in with honest reviews so they finally get the message to do a better job with their waitstaff and kitchen help, read more

we made a reservation at eight o'clock well guess what eight o'clock came and went now they're telling us to another twenty five minutes to thirty minutes this is this is freaking ridiculous we're just going to have to get go home and grab a pizza and have a delightful meal at home. We have been coming to Campiello for over 10 years and have to say the last 2 times have been not what we have come to expect . We sat out front last Friday and will say the wine and our waiter were great but the food not so. I had the snapper and it was so over cooked the batter was burned and was swimming in sauce. The risotto was hard and had no taste . My wife had the pasta special and that was burned and had no taste . I think they have added so many seats in the back and with the club room it's just not possible to provide the great meals like before. I sent a private email to the manager but did not hear back. Don't understand why this restaurant generally receives high marks, because our experience fell well below expectations. The food was average at best, the "homemade pasta" was over cooked, the calamari in the fruitti de mare was rubbery and over cooked and the shrimp, mussels and fish in this dish were tasteless. In addition, we were seated inside not far away from a table with about 7 guys who were obnoxiously loud and noisy, you would expect to see this group at the local bar or pizza joint, yet restaurant management never said anything to them - I'm sure many other tables were disturbed by these jerks. Caesar salad is a 5 out of 10. The lettuce was not crispy enough and the salad had too much dressing. We had very Good recommendations and came away disappointed with this restaurant. The osso bucco was dry in part, the pasta dish was excellent. Perhaps it was an off night. (Nancy was training Lindsey) Both were very professional, personable, helpful with menu selections and on top of everything, perfect! It helped make the night memorable. Thanks again guys!! Overpriced for a so so dinner. Waiter Eric was arrogant and rude. Pushed the highest priced wine on our friend who was dining with us, refused to light our candle when we asked. Sold us a $125 bottle and didn't bring an ice bucket for the overpriced wine. My husband ordered a salad with shrimp on the side - salad was $16 and $16 for 6 tiny shrimp. I have been coming here for 30 years and i will not come back it has changed the staff acts like they are doing you a favor. Don our waiter he was rude he never asked if our food was good my husband ordered steak and got pork he never came back to see if our food was good. Consistently declining service and quality. Campiello was our go to stop when in town but the last few visits have been remarkably average. The food tastes bland. The service is meh. We were served tonight in the courtyard by a guy who couldn't be less interested and described everything as "nice" or "good" but couldn't share anything beyond that. No info on specials, how things are prepared, what ingredients are in them, what're the tastes, etc. His only suggestions were the most expensive things on the menu including a $88 branzino and a $34 glass of red. Sad to see our favorite spot go so far downhill. We'll look elsewhere next time. read more

We ate in the "Club" room tonight....reservations for 3 at 7:15. Came in early for a drink at the bar and were greeted by 6 people from Minnesota ordering appetizer's at the bar and saving seats for their friends. They were loud and rude. Far from the intimate setting we experienced the last time we were here with a prefixed menu and more restricted access. The service for dinner took over 3 hours. Worst service I have ever had a Campiellos in the 15 years I have been going there. Very disappointed in the service. Coming for 20 years. I said for 15 years this was my fav in Naples. My last meal there tonight, was very likely my last. Waited 15 minutes for the waiter, which was fine. Our waiter was good, no complaints about service. My steak was saltless. Brussels sprouts, no salt. Calamari was fine mussels fine. Spoke to a manager about it and she seemed very disinterested. When I moved to Naples seven years ago the food at campello was excellent, but no longer. The food and service is subpar and the staff are just moonlighting and not sophisticated career servers like you often see in Naples. The chairs are a cheap foam white with wobbly tables. The food was so average. Calamari is better at Capital Grille and my Caesar salad was like a store bought salad mix. The service was Terrible! My mom waited 10 minutes for our waiter to come back to order another drink! Honestly if I was the owner I'd be embarrassed. My mom still gave 20 percent because she has class but the restaurant certainly doesn't. I'll maybe give it one more try and if it's bad I'll never go again. Waste of time and money. Went for dinner with family on Super Bowl Sunday. We sat in the main inside dining area which was very dark. Wife had to turn on the flashlight app on her phone to read the menu. Later we noticed many other tables doing the same. Staff here was very attentive from the moment we walked in. Had the gnocchi in cream sauce and grilled octopus as appetizers. Octopus was grilled to perfection and could tell it was fresh, not like the rubbery frozen calamari served at chain restaurants. My short ribs were braised in a reduced wine sauce and were very tender. The spaghetti that came with it was so-so. A trip to Naples always requires a stop at Campiello. From start to finish, our meal was absolutely delicious. Started with the best calamari I have ever had and a nice Tuscan wine. Absolutely loved the linguine with kind crab. Others in my party enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs and the delicious pappardelle.
