Scholarship opportunities? These were the things I thought about when I was in high school, looking at different options for college. I ended up focusing on schools that had a strong liberal arts program, were close to (but not in) a city, and were out of Connecticut. Stonehill fit the bill, and out of the 7 schools I applied to, this was my #1 choice, for a variety of reasons. Fact. You will scour the internet looking at rankings, reviews, ratings...(even this very review)...and that all has merit. But keep an open mind, and check out a lot of different schools, and talk to a lot of different people. Why are they there? Why did they choose to go (and stay) there? Don't get hung up on the small stuff. Where will you be happy for 4 years? Don't just take the cookie cutter tour - make sure you find the time to see everything. For me, the choice was Stonehill. I liked everything about the campus, the people, the mission, and the opportunity to grow. I had no idea what I wanted to do, and Stonehill was that blank canvas that allowed me to pave the way to where I am today. College. A blur. Year after year, I became more and more attached to everything that was Stonehill, my friends, and the life I built here. I look back and only now know how good I had it. The petty stuff that bothered me (and will inevitably bother you) is nothing. Ah, four years of absolute freedom - where the biggest decision you have to make on any given night was simply where you were going - and how many places you would end up and how many different groups of friends you would see. I don't care that the SEM is small, far, and old. I was a SEM kid, and I will always be a SEM kid. I maintain all rooms should have sinks in them. Can't have your car for the first year? Yeah, you'll get over that. (Unless that has changed..) Sports? We're no D1, but we have teams that are a hell of a good time to root for. Not in a city? Well, embrace (parts of) Brockton and travel to Boston. Find out what you are interested in, and get involved. There are plenty of different ways to do this here. Don't get hung up on who is or isn't doing it - take the opportunity to find a new interest and grow. Among other things, I chose Res Life, and being an RA for the last 2 years I was at Stonehill was the best choice I could have made - some of the people in Res Life (and residents that I had) became my best friends post-college. I also made a point to make a change in who I was. My quiet, reserved, hating-the-spotlight persona was shifted overnight into a front-facing, middle of everything kinda guy. I purposely put the spotlight on myself to become different (better) - I could think of no better place to do this. Well, it worked. Being the go-to guy for 70+ residents at a time with pages of responsibilities will do that to a person. Post College. I can't wait to graduate! Sure - we all thought that. Class of '07 - time to head out! I got a job in the Boston area and kept close with a lot of my friends that also chose to stay around. My education prepared me for the post- college world, and I did pretty well. Like many others - I miss college. Everyone tells you it will be "the best 4 years of your life", and they are undoubtedly telling the truth. Since then, not even in grad school, did I have such an open opportunity to grow, explore, learn, and become a better me. Stonehill gave me the opportunity to learn from some of the best professors out there, and I believe that I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for them. So why now, 5+ years after graduating, do I choose to write this? I am in a time of transition, and I find myself thinking about my college experiences - everything I learned, how I grew, and how it is helping me take action to move my career forward and figure out what is next. If you embrace your Stonehill experience, you'll be a Skyhawk (or in some cases, a Chieftain/Skyhawk hybrid) through and through. I live and breathe NYC on the daily right now, and still pump myself up with Dropkick Murphys while rumbling along on the PATH into 33rd Street. I could have gone a lot of different places - and I chose Stonehill for good reason. So should you.

Go to East Bridgewater Cinemas for a cheap way to view the newly released films! Price is the main reason why I go to this theater. They don't rip you off for admission (other than the food which is understandable since they want to try to keep the place open and need to make some kind of income). Bathrooms and theaters are clean. Staff is super friendly and attentative. They do get swamped on weekends especially during their $6 shows but they do notice you standing there waiting to buy a ticket. They only have about 2 workers and a long line of people in the concession lines so cut the workers some slack for those who are impatient. The downside to this theater is that the seating is not the typical downhill style. Instead, it's slightly slanted, making it harder on a person's neck the closer you sit to the screen. The sound and picture itself are just as good of a quality as a typical theater you would normally pay $12 or more for. There are plenty of handicap spots located at the back of the theater as well (perfect seating in my opinion!).

We have texts and emails back and forth saying we were all set! We started going there every weekend pretty much the 3 months leading up to my wedding to plan seating and lighting arrangements! We asked, and checked their event book to see if anything was planned the night before so we could just set up the night before and NOTHING else was in there so we were given the go ahead to set up the night before! Awesome right!? Well 3 days before my wedding some woman calls and tells us they double booked the hall and we were getting the boot!!!!??? Excuse me?! (We saw the book and nothing else was planned 2 weeks prior to this call) They claimed it was another wedding 3-7pm mine was 5-12pm. I cried and was in a panic for days to say the least. These people are the worst! We had that hall booked for almost 2 years! To make matters worse we were still using their field for the ceremony, my father had to mow it because they couldn't even do that and when we arrived to line up to walk down the isle there was 5-7 people right there drunk yelling and laughing. Making comments to me and my bridal party. Then once I made it down the isle you could hear them over the man marrying us and could hear them yelling while my husband and I were exchanging vows. My mother had to spend an extra 1,000$ because of their screw up and the woman in charge of the hall seems to think we shouldn't be reimbursed!!! If they don't make this right I can assure you, we will be seeking FULL DAMAGES. To f$!k over a former employee, lifelong member, veteran, and this bride was the worst move you could have made. If my mother doesn't get paid back every single extra cent we will see you in court and on the news! Ps we have videos that show how you couldn't even keep your members inside for my ceremony and how they ruined that too! If you're a bride don't risk it with this location, no class or loyalty at all and the hall is ugly anyways! Awful management and what should have been the best day of my life was filled with anxiety and pain. Don't risk your day

The still need a lot of help figuring out how to move people through this quickly. We arrived at 7:40 and got in our first line. No wait at the first line but the only thing that person does is hand you the waiver form and tell you to get into the next line. The 2nd line had about 40 people in front of us and only 1 person at the window helping people. This is the actual check-in line where you get your passes.Unfortunately this is also the same line that folks without tickets stand in. 20 minutes or more in this line and we finally got out passes to get into the event. Since we pre-booked for a specific time we got to skip the 3rd line (which had about 30 people in it) and get into the back of the 4th line. The 4th line is the longest and has the longest wait. You are also standing outside in the cold air the entire time.We finally got through the door and inside at 9:00 (1 hour and 20 minutes from when we arrived). When we got inside we were told to stand in a 5th line to wait for weapons training. Thankfully this was only a 10 minute wait. After weapons training and getting our weapon we were then standing in our 6th line in front of the final entrance door. Again, another 10 minute wait. In total it was 1 hour and 40 minutes of standing around doing nothing to go through a 20 minute mock Zombie Apocalypse arena. The actual event was a lot of fun and scary at times. I am glad I did it but I would never do it again knowing how much time I spent standing in lines. Until they get the long waits fixed I will not recommend this to friends.
