Love the Cameo! Great seating and really good popcorn!! Pleasant staff and good film choices.

I have family in the neighborhood and they threw a birthday party here recently. It was a big hit! The lobby was available to congregrate in and then we got to see a film with popcorn included. The only bummer was that the screening had to be at 10 am. My sister also had to reschedule the party due to illness and had no problem. Weymouth is really lucky to have such a great community cinema. Though it is an old, long standing theater, the theater venue itself is renovated with comfortable modern seating, but they've retained some of the old time charm by keeping the lobby so homey. The bathrooms are fantastically whimsical with the old hollywood themed wallpaper. Good for selfies. It's really a great welcoming space. There is a lot of parking within walking distance, but there isn't a lot of parking right in front of the theater - so that is something to keep in mind if you or someone. you are attending with has a mobility challenge. Two screens Blockbusters need only apply. Usually one is family friendly. Reasonable snack prices, popcorn in that mix. Legendary old school marquee out front. Smack dab in downtown South Weymouth. Reasonably price, and on the MoviePass ticket. Clear screens, solid sound, clean aisles and cinema stadiums. It's just a swell spot to watch a movie. Toilet occasionally overflows in the ladies, but hey, who's mopping? read more

We sat inside the left side theater, there are 2 screens here, and half way down the theater. This place is great with brand new seats. Very comfortable, leather, and rocking a bit. Great place to see a movie. 6 dollars a ticket at the 1oclock pm movie. "I'll be back." It's very clean and nicely updated. It's been around a long time but looks brand new on the inside. My new go to movie theater. I had not been to a movie in over 5 years or so because of the prices, crowds, and the sound system but all of this is done well in here. Also, no assigned seating so get there early and pick your seat. I like this much more than the new system as I know, if I am early, I can get a good seat. Great place to see your next movie. LOVE THIS PLACE! Small, local, throwback theatre with 2 screens. Matinee tickets cost less than $7 per person - popcorn was $5-$7, drinks $3-$4 - can't beat those prices! Theatre was clean and charming - seats were comfortable and came with cup holders. I would GLADLY visit this place 2-3 times before I would head over to the new Hanover superplex (plus 2-3 trips to Cameo might be cheaper even than one to the newer theatres)! This theater has a cute small town feel to it. The old fashioned sign out front showing the movies playing gives it that added charm. They recently installed new seating which has given them a HUGE upgrade from the old metal seats that had a lot of broken ones mixed in. They have the lazy boy style and feel but without the foot rest. They also installed new flooring and replaced the rugs with what looks like wood laminate. The only downfall to this location is the limited movie times available. If you're lucky you can get a spot right out front on the street otherwise you have to find an open spot in the hospital parking lot. read more

Clearly, the best things about the Cameo Theatre in Weymouth are the prices. The matinee is $4.50 (+ $1.00 per ticket if you buy them online). Drinks and snacks are cheap too. They sell a kiddie tray for $5.75 that includes popcorn, a small drink (+ 1 free refill) and fruit snacks. A large drink is $3.75. Now, the theatre; the screen are a bit small. But the sound is pretty good. The seats are old, but comfortable. There are cup holders on every other seat too. The staff working here is very nice and friendly too. The men's bathroom is reasonably clean - even if it doesn't smell great. This is a really nice local business and affordable family entertainment. read more

Tickets are only $5. The theater feels "old timey" with a fancy lobby. But, the projector in our theater added scratches to the movie, which bothered me a bit. The sound quality was also terrible, but the theater staff stopped the movie 5 minutes in, to fix the sound issues. I'd give the theater another chance to see if the problems were just with the room our movie was in. read more

I've been going to the Cameo since I was a kid. For what it is it's great. It's a really old fashion theater. It's almost like visiting a living museum. Even the staff's uniforms are old fashion. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable, it's cold and the screen is really old. But for four bucks a movie, I'll take it! read more

Two movie screens, one bathroom for men, one bathroom for women, and one stand to do everything (tickets, popcorn, snacks). If you are coming here for a grand experience...keep it moving. The theatre is old...VERY old so don't expect much when you come here. Now with that being said it is like the movie theatres before we have been spoiled by stadium seating and all that other crap. But if you are broke as a joke and want to see a movie and get a medium popcorn for $10.00 this is the place for you!!! Matinee is $5.00 and other times are $7.00. Still not bad. Great neighborhood theater. Best prices on South Shore, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. New comfy seats. Wish they showed more films for adults (they have lots for kids), but this week there are two for grown-ups, so maybe that is changing. Also wish they would show more independent "art house films. It seems the perfect venue for that and we need it in this area. For those films, I usually go to Dedham Community Theater which specializes in that type of film. I think there is an audience here in Braintree/Weymouth that would like that. read more

The new owners upgraded the Projection Equipment to Digital Picture and Dolby Sound, and installed Highly Reflective New Screens in both theatres. They have been painting the old fashioned white woodwork throughout the theatre and lobby, and have also added more lighting and fixed the Marquee with new LED lights so it's nice and bright. The seats were put in in the mid 90's and need to be replaced but the owner told me that is on the listed of upgrades he is hoping to make. The Place is pretty good for 75 years old...Support your local theatres!!! read more

We just watched the movie "The Great Gatsby" in this Theater. This is our first time being here and we had our intial debate whether to drive to AMc or go to this close by theater. All I can say, this theater is awesome fo rthe price . $7 for a movie...The screen is little smaller than the normal ones but the sound system is amazing and the staff are very friendly. I would definitely be here soon and I recommend this theater for everyone. read more

It's nice to be able to go to a theater where you don't have to take out a loan to take your family to the movies...this place is super affordable. I can take a group of kids here without having to pay $100 between tickets and snacks. Also, it's is a local, family owned business, and it has that small town nostalgic feel, which I love. This is a great movie theater thats cheap for the kids and families! Prices are almost 50% cheaper than Braintree and Randolph. They redid the whole inside with new comfy leather chairs and plenty of leg room. Food/snacks reasonably priced and friendly staff...can't go wrong!! read more

Nestled just out of the way of the South Shore Hospital, the Cameo Theater announces its presence with the beautiful marquee hanging out front. You're in for a blend of the classic movie going experience with touches of the current movie megaplex, but without the extreme prices. I love this theater! It's something of an anchor in Columbian Square, and the 2017 restoration has added very comfortable seating while bringing back some of the elegance of the old movie houses. Staff is always friendly and it's a really great place to see a movie. read more

Haven't been here in about twenty years. Went on a whim today for a matinee. Just like I remember it. No it's not brand new, doesn't have stadium tilt seating or THX surround sound. But for $4 you get an experience the big places just can't offer. Movies like you remember as a kid. Old fashioned, two screens, good popcorn and soda, and doesn't kill the wallet. Seats and temperature were fine. I recommend trying the Cameo if you want a unique experience. read more
