The cafe name is on the front of the building.

Excellent fish and chips! Goat cheese salad and wings also very good. Owner and server very personable and helpful. An excellent stop on the way to Kylemore Abbey!

Could I rank this lower than one star?? I would. For those of you that won't read a long review…read more.. here's the short story: service sucked, they gaslighted me when they got my order wrong, wildly inefficient in ordering made you pay BEFORE the meal and then also kicked us out after we told them their signage for their specials was wrong. Avoid, leave, run... don't go. So many better places to go, I had a large group and none of us will ever go back. First of all... sat down to order which took 20m. They got our drink order, then came back and took our food order, THEN came back to make us pay for our food individually which meant she had to get our food order AGAIN! Took 20m to just get our order. Then, they had 3 specials on the menu... none of which they had available. One special hand out of a burger they don't make, a hot wings challenge they don't do anymore but have signs for and a sign out front advertising a burger they don't have available. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it came out fried. Which was not on the menu. Then they told me the chef made it right and that everyone loves it fried so I should just eat it. When I asked for something different she said they would charge me for it. Another friend had her burger and it made her stomach upset for 3hrs afterwards. We leave, make a comment about the sign outside that said they don't have the specials they are advertising and they said they just don't have it "today". Which means you still don't freaking have it!?! So take the sign down it's false advertising. Then the server just said "it's fine. Bye." And closed the door in my wife's face. Soooooo... never going back. You shouldn't either. If I could give it negative stars I would.

Located in the Tivoli park center. Very large burgers and fries. These went well with a local beer…read more Basically, one of the vendors in a very large food hall. Friendly staff and pretty good lunch. Better then average, and met our needs. We people watched all of the many bicycles going up and down the strand.

The Boat Inn was a welcome haven on a long road trip across Ireland. Coming from Dublin, on our…read moreway through Connemara, we were fading fast, intimidated by the speed and size of small country roads and realizing we needed to eat before going to our Airbnb for the night. A drive through the tiny, quaint main street of Oughterard told us we were in the right spot. We found street parking and after perusing the prices of a few places, decided the the restaurant of Boat Inn was affordable and welcoming. The dining room was mostly locals (a good sign) and we ordered the fish and chips plate. It had a great presentation and came with delicious, not overly oily fish, chips, mushy peas (well seasoned) and two types of salad-a crunchy, creamy Cole slaw, and a spinach salad. Very filling, and probably the best fish and chips we tried on our 2 week tour of Ireland and Scotland. The severs were also very friendly and on the attentive side, and even helped us out with the tricky pronunciation of the small town. We went on our way, bellies full and countenance brightened, ready for the rest of the drive. If I'm through that area again, I won't hesitate to stop for another meal or perhaps even stay at the Inn.
