Menu (8-26-2024)

We decided to give this place a go after visiting Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. The weather was still seasonable, so we sat outside on the patio which was a very cute space. There were some happy hour specials, so we tried an appetizer with potato, pork and green chili. I had some questions about the beer menu, and our server admitted he was not a beer-drinker, but he offered to grab me a sample, which was appreciated. The drink menu seemed fairly priced and they had some seasonal cocktails featured as well. For dinner two of us got pasta dishes (Shrimp Chimayo, and the Sonoran Steak with Chipotle Alfredo), and one of us got a burger. I heard another server highly recommend the New Mexican food after we ordered, so I think that may be a good way to go. (I had an upcoming trip there myself so didn't think to do that). The shrimp in my pasta was really well cooked, but I had to request some chili flake to add because it didn't pack much of a punch (the chipotle alfredo sauce on the other dish by contrast was pretty tasty). I did notice as the meals progressed some servers were more attentive & experienced than others. That said, all things considered, this was a pretty enjoyable and unique meal on our trip.

Wow! Our food was really good. Some of the tastiest rellenos I've ever had. Breading was light, crispy and flavorful Service was impeccable. Our server, Nate, was friendly, attentive and engaging. Restaurant is clean, comfortable and nice enough for date night, family-friendly too. Menu options are vast, something for everyone. Highly recommend!

I'm sorry but this place is a no go for me after eating there last week. Steak ordered medium rare, came out more well done barely medium. For $42 for 12 oz on beef, we told our server that it was overcooked, when the manager came over he said "what would you like me to do about it?" Ughhh... what? Cook a new steak to the right temp! Also server told us "we don't make martinis often, so we need to get glasses from the back." Queue a 20 min wait for two margs (which were tiny) and martinis. Also got the enchiladas, which were pretty decent, so if you do go here, that's alright but the chili rellenos... over breaded, all cheese and extra greasy. But the option to get "pezole" that's that glob you can see in the middle is not like any other pezole I've had before. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Food and service was great. Also liked the ambiance. I would eat here more if I lived closer.

Chicken poblano quesadillas

Excellent experience and conveniently close to Montrose airport. Found Camp Robber after searching on Yelp. We enjoyed our meal greatly. Everything was fresh, homemade and bursting with flavor. We had the Thai chicken wrap with sweet potato fries, the chicken poblano quesadilla, a side salad with amazing basil vinaigrette and finished off with the peanut butter pie and San Juan mud pie. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive despite the restaurant being quite busy. Be sure to check this restaurant out!

The food was good, the service was slow, very very slow, and not great. Seemed like a lot a people were distracted and not doing their jobs.

Always enjoy going in for dinner when visiting Montrose. Servers are always attentive as we usually walk in with a large group. A must!

We loved the pistachio chicken salad stuffed avocado! Kids liked the homemade Mac & cheese. The loaded nacho appetizer was great!

It's a solid location. For anyone trying it their first time, I would recommend any of their…read morebread-like plates; counting pancakes and waffles. Their homemade bread plates are DELICIOUS. I mean, we could not get enough. If you ever get a toast, make sure to ask for their fruity syrup. It's just WOW. Also, get their bacon - Starvin' Arvin's can make bacon right. Everything else is alright. We came in hungry and wanted a bit of everything. While we enjoyed their bread, pancakes and French toast, it seems like we ordered the weakest dishes in the joint. The chicken fried steak, hash browns and green chili omelet were okay. The steak and hash browns were lacking flavor on their own, so you really had to make it your own by adding seasoning or getting a touch of extra gravy. The green chili omelet has a lot going on. It's pack full of a variety of flavor, but when one component doesn't work, it's like the whole dish struggles because you can't pick it out of the dish. The place felt like an old-school diner which is something to appreciate. It has a nice parking lot around the location, and it's rowdy in the morning like you'd expect from a place like this.

Very weird experience here. First of all we were on a drive back from telluride on the day after my…read morebirthday. I let my boyfriend pick the restaurant not realizing they didn't sell alcohol. The waitress seated us at a huge corner table for just the 3 of us. After not even a minute of looking at the menu she asked us what we wanted, so I asked for a Bloody Mary. The waitress laughed in my face and said "yeah right, me too". So then I preceded to ask for a mimosa, thinking they didn't have tomato juice. She then let me know they didn't serve alcohol, so I said just waters fine. I still can't believe she laughed in my face, how rude! Then she comes back to ask us to move!!! Not only was that extremely inappropriate but it was my birthday . Then after we got up they didn't even direct us to which table they were moving us to. The table was still right next to the table beside it, is in touching our neighbors table. The guy sitting there even had his phone on our new table! Then after we order we realize my boyfriend had left his phone at the other table. When asking the new group sitting there if they had found it they said they turned it in. The staff didn't even think to ask if it ours even though they moved us from there. Then the waitress acts like she's doing us a favor by sending out a cinnamon roll. Well after we left we realize we didn't actually get a free cinnamon roll, there was only one brought out and my friend had ordered one as a side and never received it, meaning all 3 of us ended up eating the cinnamon roll that was supposed to be hers. Not only did the entire experience bum me out on my birthday, but I will definitely not be recommending this place or ever stopping back by. The ambiance inside was okay, and the food was good, but the service was atrocious.
