First of all, I went to mention our outstanding server Dizzy (short for Disreal). He was very kind, attentive, and hard-working. Very knowledgeable about the menu. When we go back, we will request for him to be our waiter. They have a special going on right now where you can either get a chicken sandwich or bacon cheeseburger and fries and a soft drink for $9.99. I loved my chicken sandwich and my boyfriend enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger. It seems to be a totally different atmosphere than what it has been in the past. Don't get me wrong, I have had some good meals here, but last night was awful. I had a 6 ounce sirloin. I know sirloin isn't filet but you can do better. Since yesterday was not only Twos-day (2.22.22) but also National Margarita Day, my friends and I decided to hit up Applebee's for some dinner and margs. Tatiana, our most excellent waitress, took care of us for the evening. Of course we got margs! For dinner we ordered a classic bacon cheese burger, a whiskey bacon burger and a quesadilla burger. All burgers were cooked to perfection and were yumminess times 3! I feel kinda bad because it's very rare that I post a review without pictures but we all devoured our food too quickly! Typical Applebee's, until the "All You Can Eat" wing special comes around. Then they get stupid. First, they aggressively inform you that "it's not for sharing" as soon as you mention it. I get it, I've worked at and even owned restaurants. People are stupid, but don't *start* with this assumption. Second, as I said, I owned a restaurant. Boneless wings take 4 minutes to cook. You're first order you get 10, when you order more you get 5... and each refill takes 15 minutes or more. So "All you can eat" turns in to 2 dozen if you're willing to wait an hour and a half. This game is just stupid. 5 people paid you $75 for boneless wings. Feed them. Don't play stupid games. read more

My wife and I use to eat there often. However, a year or so ago, we got the worse steak from any restaurant ever. To the credit of the manager, he offered us another. It was worse than the first one. He apologized, said no charge. He simply said he could not find good help. I accepted his explanation, however It ruined our night out. Forward to Nov 29, 2023. We decided to try it again on our 48 wedding anniversary. I order the 12 oz steak and my wife the 8oz steak, two drinks, tip, $75 meal. My wife's steak was almost pure gristle and bled, ordered medium-well. Mine was ordered medium-well. It was way over cooked, with gristle and was not trimmed. It had lots of fat. Again, $75. I went to a lunch meeting on a Thursday afternoon, we were a party of 8 and they had our table ready for us. I don't think I've ever eaten at an Applebee's and my expectations weren't high. The service was great, the menu selection had something for everyone, and I really enjoyed my meal. I was surprised to see that this place has so few stars. We sat at our table for 10 minutes without being approached. The servers were sitting down eating whilst we haven't even been asked what beverage we would like. which is usually step one. I have always loved Applebees however the time before this one was terrible lousy service and my friend ordered wine and it was brought when she was nearly finished eating so she refused it So tonight another friend took me out to eat and we both ordered Salmon It was severely overcooked and dry . I do not know if they have a new cook but if they do they need to find another one Also my plate she brought and said you have double potatoes? and I said no and on that plate was a regular sized piece of salmon so she said I will be right back with just one serving of potatoes and when she returned had a piece of salmon obviously the tail and half the thickness. At least the waitress from the first visit mentioned here has improved and she was great . Was looking forward to a wonderful night out for dinner with my family. However it turned into an absolute disaster because the mid-rare steak dinner my pregnant daughter order was very very undercooked (bloody red). We called our waitress and told her it issue. The waitress checked her ordered sheet and agreed that in fact my daughter ordered was mid-rare then took the steak dinner back to the cook. That was the last time we seen that waitress. When the chief re heated her dinner the manager bought my daughter plate out but the steak was still undercooked. So this time the manager took her plate back to the kitchen. Yes, I went to a national chain. I tend to stay away, but sometimes it is unavoidable (they are not all bad, just boring.. but on the other hand can also be somewhat "safe" in an unknown area where options and information are limited) Anyhoo, server was nice, teas refilled, etc. My steak was overcooked (ordered medium rare and it was more medium well) and the baked potato undercooked. I came in tonight, 12/10, after work and sat at the bar and ordered food. I work in the industry and know the food never looks like the pictures. It did come out disappointing and lacking in flavor. My server (I'm sorry I forgot your name!) was very gracious and promptly corrected the situation. I know what it's like to have guests that are genuinely just never satisfied, so I very much appreciate that she took the time to ensure everything was corrected and tried to go above and beyond. I was not upset, and realize this isn't a fine dining kind of place. People that complain need to understand that their server is not the only person responsible for their experience, and sometimes people are learning and mistakes happen. Customer service was nice. Food was pretty good for being a chain. One entrée ordered was the 7 oz. steak. It seemed really tiny but tasted okay. Everything else was okay not Wow! but okay. We did try out the new computer on the table not to order but just to pay. I thought that part was slick. It was nice to not have to hand over your credit card to a stranger. On the flip side I thought it was sad that even going out to dinner society feels like we need to be entertained (you can buy games to play while you wait for your food). I can see how this might be helpful for kids but don't most people have a phone for that? What happened to just talking and enjoying being together? I also thought this is one more way to take out the person to person interaction with the restaurant staff and replace it with computers. Oh well, what can you do? Generally speaking, I'm kind of "anti-Applebee's" but this particular one is a cut above the rest... I work in another local restaurant so the 9pm-Close Happy Hour is my saving grace. The staff is welcoming no matter what time you walk in. But tonight in particular, the staff gained a whole lot of respect from me based on how they handled a rude, belligerently drunk customer. Don't go there during a sports game. Last time I went there our dinner was ruined by a couple of drunk 25 year olds who kept yelling and swearing at the TV at the top of their lungs. Amazingly the manager was standing 10 feet away watching the same game and never did anything. When I approached the manager about the noise he looked annoyed at my impertinence and said "It's a Broncos game, there's nothing we can do". I paid $10.75 for a Perfect Patron Margarita, which seemed to have no tequila in it whatsoever. When you pay that much for a margarita, you should be able to taste and feel the tequila. I ordered the baby back ribs for $17.99, but they were gross. They were grainy, and I was told it was the rub they use. They were also very large and tough and seemed more like St. Louis style ribs from a grown pig, rather than baby back ribs. They also put excessive amounts of the wrong sauce on them. I returned them and ordered a classic hamburger with cheddar cheese, but it came with American cheese, which I really do not like, so I returned it too. The next hamburger came with approximately two tablespoons of grease on the plate. I am not exaggerating. I did not bother to return it because they were obviously not capable of preparing an acceptable meal. I will not return to this restaurant. It is simply not worth the price or frustration. read more
