This has to be one of the best pizzas ever. I had the square small Detroit Pizza. It's 4 slices, my toppings were bacon. My husband's was pepperoni. The edges are crispy, the inside of the square was just full of cheese and topped with delicious tomato sauce. Our server was very careful with my allergies. One tip, even if you are a big eater (which I am not), we both only ate half as it was so filling.
Great pizza, inviting atmosphere with many TVs for watching sporting events. Very attentive wait staff. If you're in the area highly recommend trying their Detroit style pizza. I tried The Brooklyn Bridge: Winner of the Pizza World Championships in Parma, Italy. This crowd favorite is built with a proprietary blend of brick, mozzarella, and white cheddar cheeses, pizza sauce, natural-casing pepperoni, raw Italian sausage (which bakes directly into the pie), chopped garlic, Sicilian oregano, Pecorino Romano, and dollops of creamy whipped ricotta. The whipped ricotta makes this a Must try with delicious savory flavor.
We called in a to-go order and were pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza was! We ordered the small Brooklyn-style Italian Parmesan pizza with prosciutto and burrata, and it was excellent. The crust was cooked perfectly, and the ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful. Our only complaint has nothing to do with the food. Their website states that they are not pet friendly, but when I picked up our order, I asked because it seemed odd for a place called Brown Dog Pizza. They confirmed that dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio, which was great to hear. It would be helpful if they updated their website to reflect that so people traveling with dogs don't skip this place. We ended up taking our pizza down to the creek to eat, and it made for a perfect meal. We'd definitely order from Brown Dog Pizza again!
Brown Dog Pizza is a place definitely worth visiting while in Telluride. The Brooklyn Bridge is an absolute must get pizza. The crust is thick with a nice crunch on the bottom with crisp cheese all around. All the toppings are great together, the pepperonis are some of my favorite and the ricotta adds a nice creamy cool flavor into the mix. The classic round pesto was pretty good but the crust isn't as great compared to the Detroit style. The pesto and cherry tomatoes together are fantastic. Great food and great servers that makes for a must visit.
Awesome pizza place and bar in Telluride! We stopped to pick up some dinner and got the gluten free pizza with bacon which was very good, the vegan cheese melted well and the dough was similar to regular pizza dough. We also got the supreme large pizza which was delicious and had ample pepperoni and other toppings. Choosing one of their menu pizzas was more cost effective than choosing your own toppings which I found odd however. The mandarin salad was so delicious and refreshing. We got it in a size small which was perfect for 2 people. Would love to try the Detroit style next time as it looked super fluffy! Take out was easy and we placed the order at the counter and got a text when it was ready. Dining in seems like a fun time too but they seemed very popular and could be a wait for a table.
Brown Dog Pizza definitely lives up to the hype! Even though they were extremely busy, the atmosphere was fun and energetic, and our food came out surprisingly fast. We started with the mozzarella appetizer, which was hot, fresh, and a great way to kick off the meal. We ordered a small Canadian bacon pizza and a small hamburger & black olive pizza, and both were served piping hot with fresh ingredients and great flavor. The crust was delicious, and everything tasted like it had just come out of the oven. If you're looking for great pizza, a lively atmosphere, and efficient service even during a rush, Brown Dog Pizza is absolutely worth the stop!
Stopped by for a midday pick me up -- what's better than wings and beer in a mountain town?? The place was packed out on a Thursday afternoon, and we got a little booth in the back by the bathroom hallway. The service was limited for the number of people in the place, they were just so busy. I started with a delicious sour beer, and ordered a kids burger since I wasn't super hungry. We also got wings for the table, which were delicious. Honestly, the burger was basically the size of a small adult burger and did well to fill me up. We also tried some of the pizzas - never had a BLT pizza before, but it hit the spot The prices are what you would expect in a mountain town -- steep! But makes sense. Definitely will come back
I'm very picky about pizza. This pizza was delicious. The reason I'm knocking off a star is because the way they handle the waitlist and crowd control. We just wanted pizza and every night there was over an hour wait. Just take reservations for goodness sake. Put a time limit if you are worried people will dine too long. Instead people are standing outside in the cold waiting around for a table to open. After a 90 minute wait we finally placed an order to go. It was delicious but they could handle their customers in a more respectful way.
We were fortunate to grab a couple seats at the bar during the dinner hour. Great service from both bartenders but Leah was especially wonderful. They house wines at the bargain price of $9. Sampled sauv blanc but it was like grapefruit so went with Pino Grigio. Several beers on tap. We wanted to try their Detroit style pizza since they are so known for that. Got a combo of the Koto and Brooklyn Bridge. Both were delicious- eventually. I started with a slice of the Koto and my mouth was on fire! I mentioned to Leah that I didn't remember anything spicy on ingredient list. She looked at pizza closely and was horrified because the kitchen had covered it in spicy tomatoes. She put in for another pizza - another whole small. Thats a lot of pizza! Well let me say that pizza was so so much better. However again Leah looked at pizza and said it still didn't look right. They put diced piquant peppers on top instead of sun-dried tomatoes. So she brought us a side dish of those. She was so on top of it! Then she even gave us a discount on the pizza. Not necessary but sure was nice! Plus we left 3/4 of a small pizza.
The best gluten-free pizza I have ever had! We ordered the GF 8x10" pizza that is cut into four pieces. We were both very full. Husband had the arugula and artichoke salad with his. I ordered the Long Island Tea - perfection! Their crust is thick, chewy and also crunchy - they have achieved the impossible in GF. Highly recommend. Service was quick, friendly and food was ready pretty fast. They were busy but kept things moving. Will return if we are ever back!
We've been waiting 5 years to come back here and it did not disappoint! Our first experience was during Covid where it was take out only but we got the amazing full sports bar and ambiance experience. Seating downstairs and up top plus a large bar. Food was a 5/5. Caesar salad was delicious, the Good Dog cheesy garlic bread comes on their Detroit style crust and the Little Rose may be our new favorite Detroit style pizza being both sweet and spicy with decadent toppings and a blast of freshness with the basil. The staff is so friendly, the vibes are great, TVs and sports memorabilia everywhere and just overall fun. You can't go wrong here and HIGHLY recommend Brown Dog!!
We struggled with places being closed during the off season, so we ended up coming here twice while in Telluride. Between our visits, my husband and I shared: - Chester's Tail Wagger, Classic Pizza (seasonal) - Little Rose, Detroit Style Pizza - Gold Hill, Detroit Style Pizza - Southwestern BBQ Chicken, Detroit Style Pizza We really enjoyed everything we had here. The seasonal pizza was definitely my favorite followed by the Little Rose. They have a really good Detroit style crust. I tried my mom's Gold Hill on a classic crust and actually thought that pizza was better on the classic crust instead of the Detroit. I wish the BBQ pizza had BBQ sauce as the base instead of red sauce with just a drizzle of BBQ. The red sauce was a bit weird to me on a BBQ pizza, but it was still good. I just recently discovered they also have locations in Denver, but it's called Blue Pan Pizza so maybe I'll be back sooner than I thought!

Yummy, casual pizza restaurant! The menu offers Detroit-style and nyc-style pizza. They have a special flavor that regularly rotates. They have interior and exterior seating. The setting is very relaxed. Prices are reasonable for quality of the food. Servers are so kind and inviting. One thing to note- the food does take a while since they are making everything fresh so if you are on a time crunch, I would take that into account before coming here. read more

Another Terrible Telluride dining experience, I am vegan, they offer a choice of a small vegan pizza, no vegan slices offered, for a whopping twenty five dollars of sweat sock tasting vegan cheese, the vegan peperoni was delicious the crust was below average slightly undercooked, we could not get the Detroit style vegan. It is obvious nobody in management or the kitchen has tasted anything vegan on their menu or it they would know. It was busy at lunch and they were rushing people every which way. My server was dismissive, lazy and insulting was the fakest person you know would go in the back and talk garbage about you. What a disappointment. Do not recommend. read more

Stopped into Brown Dog Pizza and it absolutely delivered. Built my own Detroit-style pizza and it was --crispy edges, loaded with flavor, and done right. Paired it with a melon Long Island, which was a perfect mix and hit the spot. For a small mountain town sitting close to 10,000 feet, this place is legit. Great food, great vibe, and worth the stop if you're anywhere nearby. Must stop. read more
Woof!! This pizza is Devine. Something about a fresh baked pie in high altitude that hits differently. And can't be replicated. I love that they offer Detroit style and traditional. It was so good I might even forgive them for their poor taste in decor. Ha. (Hint: I'm not a Michigan fan) You have a choice of 3 sizes. But really. Why order anything but the large? What made this a five out of five was Kaelee our server. She was absolutely fantastic. Whatever she is doing. The team needs a replicate her because she's crushing it. She made sure our waters were filled, and we are satisfied throughout our meal. One of our friends at the table had a bloody nose and she was aware enough to give him a lemon to chew on because she said it was helpful regardless of if it worked or not she's the goat for thinking of us. Absolute legend, she deserves a raise! read more

OMG! We decided to stop by this spot and see what all the buzz is about! We ordered the garlic knots which tasted amazing and the red sauce on the side was the perfect sauce to dip them in! I ordered the tropical Long Island Iced Tea which was delicious. Since we discovered that this place was famous was its Detroit-styled pizza, we decided to try Detroit style pizza for the first time. We ordered the veggie pizza Detroit style. It did not disappoint. Our server, Kirsty, not sure if I spelled her name correctly was absolutely wonderful! Every time we come to Telluride, we basically sprint to Brown Dog Pizza like it's the finish line of a pizza marathon. Brown Dog is hands down our favorite spot. Ordered for pickup this time. The Detroit-style pizza is out-of-this-world delicious--deep, cheesy, and loaded with flavor. You can tell why it's award-winning--absolutely deserving! Seriously! It wins awards! Also grabbed the wings because... balance, right? Spicy, crispy, and completely worth fighting over. Brown Dog is award-winning for a reason--every bite reminds you why. Do not leave Telluride without eating here. Highly recommend!!! Ambiance inside is worth eating in as well! read more

Pizza joint in the middle of town. Menu covers pizza, salads, wings, burgers, and sandwiches. Good selection of beers as well. We went for a Greek Salad and a small Detroit Style pizza with Thick Cut Pepperoni and Banana peppers. Salad was very good. Plenty of toppings and good size. The pizza was pretty good. Really good pizza joint and very laid back atmosphere. They had a full bar and sports on the TV screens. Server was super nice. Mondays are buy 2, 10inch pizzas for 1 price. Great deal! read more

This place is the best pizza in probably all of Colorado (maybe the whole west coast?). But you already knew that if you're reading reviews. Put your name on the waitlist and go to the rooftop bar next door and kill some time because whatever the wait - it is WORTH IT. The flavors, the ingredients, the CRUNCH at the bottom of the Detroit style!!!! I'm not a Detroit pizza style person at all but this place changed my mind. Their prices are super reasonable too for being in Telluride, especially for their drinks. Our server was so fun and awesome, I wish I could remember his name. Already can't wait to be back. read more
My two friends and I visited here during Camp Alderwild and had a delicious lunch while we waited out the rain. I got a calzone w roasted garlic and spinach and it was delicious and super cheesy! Our server was very nice and helpful. I loved the ambiance of the place, they had spots on the tvs and a patio you could also sit on. I hope to come back next time I'm in town! read more
Great spot in Telluride ! The pizza was delicious but definitely some miscommunication with the cost of what we got. It was more expensive than we were expecting. Over $40 for this pizza felt a little extravagant. We would of got a different option had we understood the way the half and half went. We asked about it ahead of time and Crystal and I both thought it was going to be a different price than the receipt. So this meal over all was more than we wanted to spend. We asked about it after and were told that we must of misunderstood. That is fine. The wings had a good flavor. And we loved the crust on this pizza! The venue is fun and vibrant and pretty quick service for being busy. I would go back for sure but would get one kind and just get two smalls instead if we wanted different kinds- that way you get more crispy edges and it would be the same price. read more
We rolled into Telluride after a long day of travel and were absolutely starving. It was the weekend of the film festival, so everywhere was packed, but Brown Dog Pizza had only a 20-30 minute wait. Super easy system--you put your number in, check your place in line, and get a text when it's your turn. We were seated upstairs inside, which had a fun, eclectic vibe with lots of sports memorabilia. Our server was quick, friendly, and suggested we try the Detroit-style pizza since it was our first time. We also ordered a Caesar salad and garlic knots to start. The salad came out fast and was a surprise hit--sometimes the simplest things end up being the stars, and this Caesar was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The garlic knots, on the other hand, weren't for us. Something about the butter or seasoning just tasted off, though the portion size was huge. Then came the pizza--holy moly, it was a brick! Luckily, we only ordered a small, and even then we could only manage one piece each. Perfect for leftovers later that night. The crust was thick and crispy, loaded with toppings, and definitely lived up to the hype. All in all, Brown Dog has a cool vibe, solid service, and truly standout pizza. We'd skip the garlic knots next time, but we'd 100% come back for that Detroit-style pie. read more

We ordered the Supreme Pizza. It was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I'm from the NYC area and most pizzas just don't cut it. The crust wasn't oily and a little bit chewy as I like it. The ingredients were heaped on and freshly made. Outstanding overall. read more
