Stopped in here on the way through town for a bite too eat. First thing I noticed was the piles of hardwood out back and the smoker. Off to a good start. There was a lot of menu choices, ended up going with a half rack of their signature ribs. Gotta say they were some of the best tasting ribs I've ever had. The fries were perfectly cooked, baked beans were loaded with flavour. Had a pint of Great Lakes IPA that was also excellent. The waitress told us all about their smoking process. The only place my husband raves about... and never leaves hungry or disappointed. Great ribs, yummy fried chicken and although I haven't tried it, I'm told the pulled pork and brisket are tasty. Everything comes with two side dishes and there's at least 12 different ones to choose from. Try the sweet potato fries - dusted with cinnamon it's a nice change from the standard salty fries. The best appetizer... deep fried dill pickles. Sliced like chips, with only a thin coating of batter so you can see what you're eating, a heaping helpful, enough for four people. My partner and I were in the area and decided to find a place to eat through Yelp. This place was fantastic. We shared the Combo 3 with an additional side and meat and it was more than enough. We had brisket, pulled pork, fried chicken, ribs, beans, and corn bread and it was ALL delicious. I especially loved the pulled pork but honestly all the meats were great. a hidden gem! this restaurant is located in.. lets be frank, middle of no-where. i only stumbled upon it while driving on the 401 and starving on a friday afternoon. the restaurant was filled with happy campers when i walked in and the ribs here were just... juicy like you wouldn't believe! they have 6 bottles of different sauces so you can have your rib any flavor you like, or better yet, try them all. will drop by again, if i'm in the area. read more

I was a bit disappointed after all the rave reviews. The good.....staff was friendly and service was prompt. The atmosphere is Roadhouse so you know what to expect, not fine dining. That said, it was no excuse for dirty tables and filthy, messy washrooms. On to the food.....with barbeque being their specialty, we went with their signature ribs with house dressing. I went with the St. Louis Style Ribs which were dry and overcooked. My wife had the baby back ribs which were more tender. The house sauce seemed OK, but it was hard to get a real taste of it over the burnt ribs. read more

Yelp doesn't allow for a zero star rating, but I would give it if I could. The servers were too concerned with a plate of food they were sharing behind the bar to notice me when I came in. I had to approach the bar, and offered a smile which was not returned. The server sat me at a table near the door, got a draft every time it opened, the draft carried in flies as well as a foul odour from the field outside. Wouldn't have wanted to sit on the patio. Waited for my beer for 15 minutes, no idea what took so long, because it wasn't busy but I could hear the cooks yelling and using occasional profanity in the kitchen. Every child under 2 years old was crying or fussing. Visited the restroom and understood why immediately: no change tables. Also rather warm inside despite that it was early in the season. I didn't end up ordering food because I had no idea how long it would take. read more

Really enjoyed the ribs however the service was lacking and the noise level was so loud in the place I could not hear my wife from across the table. I would not go out of my way to go there again. Reasonably priced bbq with good service and great food

My wife and I were out on this sunny Saturday driving in the country when we drove through Paris Ontario. Much to our pleasant surprise we saw Camp 31 BBQ restaurant. We were familiar with Camp 31 from Rib Fest Toronto / Mississauga. Since BBQ Brisket and Ribs is a passion, we headed straight in. Our waitress was friendly and our sides of Corn Bread, Mac and Cheese and beans were really good. The Brisket was thinly sliced meat slightly cooked in sauce. It was extremely tough to cut and chew. The ribs were indeed fall off the bone but the meat was dry as though it was leftover and reheated. The sauces were excellent and certainly needed. Perhaps the owner / Chef should visit the Lancaster in Kitchener or Muddies outside Peterborough to see how good Brisket is prepared. ( there are plenty of good BBQ places in Ontario, these were just the first two that popped into my mind ) Compared with our expectations, we were underwhelmed. We had lots of leftover meat and neither of us wanted it to come home with us. We have been known to drive all the way to Peterborough just to have Brisket lunch and bring back extra meat for the next day. This was certainly not the case here. Coach Bob read more

Great little place. The Mater Tow Truck caught our eye and we decided to stop. I had a pulled pork mac and cheese, which was excellent, but my wife's burger was the real deal. Upon recommendation, I had tried Camp 31. The décor is pretty relaxed. The server was friendly and informative. The pulled pork in the BBQ sauce was delicious. I prefer it to be sweeter, so that is why I like the BBQ sauce. The fries were seasoned okay, but for others they might be on the saltier side. So if you have to watch your sodium content, then this is not the right choice for you. read more

We had never been to Camp 31 before, but had been wanting to try it for quite some time, so today (my husbands birthday)was the day. What a disappointment, I have never in my life ordered Blackened Catfish that was so pale and bland, it looked horrible and tasted about the same, I actually sent it back and declined to order anything else. My husband(birthday boy) ordered Ribs and Wings, the ribs were overcooked and stringy the wings, which were supposed to be hot were barely mild. The meals that my husband and son ordered were supposed to come with fries and one side, they both ordered side ceasar salads, when we got the bill they had charged us .99 cents for each side, how they can call that included with the meal is beyond me. The ceasar salads were dripping with dressing, so much so that the lettuce went limp, not very appetizing. All this for $70.00 totally not worth it, we will not go back. read more

The place has really gone downhill over the years,... the meal I had there yesterday was quite a letdown, the ribs were dry and overcooked, the little portion of beans was gluey with a congealed skin on top,....... and the lemonade I'm sure was a glass of water with two lemon halves in it,.... tasteless. The service was adequate if perfunctory,.... surprising as there was maybe three people in the whole place on an early Sunday evening. The last time I was there, the bun with the pulled pork sandwich was so greasy I asked for a replacement bun so I could remake the sandwich,... myself. It seems the kitchen staff couldn't care less. I live 1.5 hours away and I would often go there specifically whenever I was in the mood for some authentic BBQ and always whenever I happened to be in the area.
