I went here twice in two days and had the Breakfast chili Relanos both days...outstanding! And great coffee too

We were here in Fruita for the Headless Chicken Run. What an adorable town. Stopped at Camilla's for a late lunch. They were busy with the weekend festival happening. The waitresses were amazing! Kiddos to them. Food was ok, not great. I had chicken chili verde burrito. Honey had nachos. Plenty of food, just not much flavor wise. Again, the staff went above and beyond for as busy as it was. They get 5 stars, food gets 3 stars. read more

Ordered via phone for take-out on Thursday 5/20. We needed something quick and easy to eat while we drove since we were on a tight timeline and thought sandwiches made sense for the one stop we had time for on our drive from Utah to Denver. The staff: couldn't be nicer or lovelier. The food order and actual meal: awful. We ordered The Southwest sandwich with a side of fries + Dr Husky's special as advertised on their web homepage (basically the Garden sandwich but as a wrap with NO cucumbers and NO dressing (allergies) with a side of fries. It would be nice if they offered chips instead of fries with their sandwiches; way too heavy. The Southwest was inedible due to the amount of cheese sauce it was drowning in; the whole thing fell apart on first bite as the bread was a soggy mess. Impossible to eat without silverware if you were sitting at a table, let alone while driving. The Garden sandwich was not made as a wrap, nor had they left out the cucumbers or the dressing. Basically the phone order was COMPLETELY ignored & they handed me a soggy sandwich with untoasted or ungrilled bread so thick but so mushy it too disintegrated and was unable to be picked up. No utensils or napkins were included as one would assume for a to-go order nor were we asked if we needed them. No ketchup for the fries. No receipt included "in the bag" despite asking and being told it was in there. So we paid $25 to starve and stare at soggy bread on our 9-hour drive from Utah to Denver. read more

My littles ate eggs, hotcakes, and their favorite... the cinnamon roll with zero complaints. Food was average, service was poor. Not sure why this place is so popular. First, we had to wait about 20 minutes before we were even seated. It wasn't that busy and there were several empty tables available. Then we were finally seated next to the window in the front where the cold air from outside radiated down our backs and we had to huddle together to keep warm. After we placed our order, we received our meals without silverware and had to wait, while our food got cold, while the waitress went to get eating utensils. Absolutely awesome!!! A must stop whether passing by on I70 or staying over in Fruita/Grand Junction! We were roaming the streets of Fruita on a Sunday morning when the infectiously cheerful waitress pulled us in for a drink. We sat on the back patio and had an assortment of drinks amongst our party. Cherry Creme Sodas, Mexican Mochas, a Vanilla Hot Chocolate, and a Caramel Frappucino. They were all really good with plenty of delicious "real" whipped cream. Our waitress, who wound up being the owner, was more than attentive and delightfully friendly. She had no problem with us just sipping our drinks and passing the lazy day of our travel layover on her back patio. We were there at the end of the breakfast hours but she had no problem doing an early lunch when a couple of us decided we were hungry. Two people got burgers and loved them! My husband ordered the Western Cheeseburger with grilled onions, BBQ sauce, cheese, and bacon. I stole a bite and it was delicious. Our friend got an original cheeseburger. They were quite large with a hardy portion of seasoned steak fries. Exactly what you would expect from a small town cafe. Delicious! I was not hungry when we were there but got a choc chip cookie while paying. So good it made me hungry! I chose to get a half sandwich and soup to go from the extensive menu. The Albuquerque Turkey sandwich was fabulous on soft, thick sliced wheat bread. The beef and barley stew was the best I have ever had!!! They even have wifi. How awesome is that?! We went during the Fruita Fall Fest so I was expecting this place to be packed. It was deceivingly spacious. Plenty of room for all that came to eat breakfast, indoors and on the patio. They have some deliciously spicy hot sauce on the table as well as the syrup. Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked to perfection. I always order off the side menu and got scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. So delicious! My mother got French toast and it came with some beautiful fresh fruit and bacon and lots of butter on the side. She loved it. My bf got the rancher burrito special. The picture I uploaded says it all. He was full for the rest of the day. It was loaded! The omelette that my father had was also so delicious! We will definitely be back. My extremely picky teenage daughter ALWAYS picks Camilla's when it's her turn to pick our lunch spot (Dr. Huskey's sandwich). I always choose to go here when I pick our breakfast spot! Outdoor seating, plenty of people watching, lots of choices on the menu I was on a road trip with a girl friend and we decided to stop here after our tour of Colorado Monument! We chose this place over the pizza place cause we had been eating pizza almost the entire trip! Staff seemed nice and then forgot about us. And of course the small town thing of a friend stops in, to say hi and you completely ignore your customers. Oy! We split the turkey club and the tacos. Both were very tasty and i would have liked to enjoy a beer, but since we weren't sure they would ever remember we were there, we went with water! (FYI - there is a $2 split fee if you only get 1 thing, so make sure to get take out if you want to go that route!) If you have a ton of time to kill, give it a go. read more

Good little spot to grab a pre-ride bite. I ordered "the usual" (eggs, biscuit, hash browns, bacon), and thus wasn't terribly surprised when it was only ordinary -- though, really, frozen hash towns from a bag really don't turn me on at all. We had lunch at Camilla's and found it to be a very nice experience. The place was very full, but we ended up at a nice booth. Service was responsive and kind. My guest chose a soup and sandwich combination of chicken lime soup and a BLT. The soup tasted homemade and had a nice edge of lime to it. The BLT was excellent and had bacon hanging out both sides (see the picture). I had their famous Dr. Huskey's Garden Sandwich (also referred to as a veggie sandwich on some of the menus) and asked for some green chile on it. It was delicious, full of all sorts of vegetables and the green chile gave it a nice bite. We ordered a piece of peanut butter pie to eat later, got to the car and decided later was now. But didn't have a fork. A quick trip back into Camilla's and the staff happily solved our problem. Great place, great food, great people. Guess you could say it was Grrrrrreat! read more

We come to Fruita at least once a year for mountain biking, relaxing, fun, etc. It's our new tradition to stop at Camilla's for breakfast on our last day before heading home. During our heavy MTB days we live off light breakfasts before hitting the trails, but by the last day we're craving something good. My usual (and I hope they never take it off the menu) is the chile relleno and eggs. I LOVE a good relleno...and this isn't your traditional one. The chile is stuffed with cheddar and rolled in a tortilla and fried. Yummy enough, but then they add their chili on top...yum! My eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns didn't overwhelm the plate. My hubby had the Cowboy Skillet with chicken fried steak. He too loves their chili and he really enjoyed his breakfast. My son had the short stack with a side of bacon...he loved it, but the hot cakes were so huge he only made it through half. Daughter had the kids breakfast with a scrambled egg, sausage and Mickey hot cake...she ate quite a bit of it. Good food, good service (our coffee mugs were always full). Worst customer service. Lady behind counter said "You only have 45 minutes for lunch, are you good with that?" I was taken aback, she left and came back 5 minutes later and said "Are you good with the time, now it's only 40 minutes." Rudest thing ever said to me and my daughter. I told her she was rude, we left and had a wonderful lunch where the service was great! Word of advice to owner, get rid of that old rude lady and if that's how you operate your business, shame on you for treating your guests that way. Closing at 1:00 for lunch is ridiculous anyway. Obviously no one there wants to work. Unfortunately, you just lost 5 families with over 50 extended members. read more

What a great little spot! I asked for a recommendation and my charming and beautiful server suggested the fish tacos, which were delightfully fresh and tasty (see photo). The decor is clean and contemporary with hardwood floors and attractive artwork. The menu is creative but not over the top, and prices are very reasonable considering the great ambiance, excellent food and top shelf service. My husband and I stopped in here on a lark. We have been back since :) The service is friendly and the food is good. The first time I had the grilled cheese sandwich with the Baked potato soup. Very good. Large portions too. Had to take some of mine home. My husband ordered the Reuben sandwich. That was awesome. Good tasting meat, good crunch and a nice marble rye. The second time I also had the Reuben and was not disappointed. We will be going back. Have tried twice actually over the Christmas holiday but it was closed both times. The only bummer was we had just finished hiking the Monument trail and had been dreaming of the Reuben for a few hours. read more
