Tried to get a seating a few times before for a special occasion but wasn't successful in getting a reservation (my fault entirely). I must say the service and food were exemplary. Cambridge mill was a very nice upscale restaurant. It's located over a beautiful scenery with nice spots to take pictures. The interior is very clean and the filled with windows to overlook the water. The service was amazing, everyone was kind and welcoming with a positive attitude. Came by to celebrate birthdays and it was a wonderful experience. This is for their brunch buffet and the quality of food was excellent. Everyone couldn't stop raving about the oysters, prime rib, mac and cheese, roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts. There were of course other things as well but these were some of the top items for us. The variety isn't insane like some other places but everything had top tier quality. The service was also top notch. Our server Emily, was incredibly attentive and had the right combination to be there constantly while not being over bearing. I would rate here an 11/10. The decor is very nice and the view of the water depending on seat is also amazing. I would recommend at least trying this place once. It's definitely worth the value. read more

Absolutely stunning restaurant! We book this place last minute for Friday night and we were lucky to get a table for 6 on their patio for 8:15pm. It's a little late but given that we were only in the area for 1 night, we decided to go ahead with a late dinner. This upscale restaurant is situated right next to the grand river so you should try to make reservations for a table with the river view. Perfect place to celebrate for a special occasion. We had the mussels to start which was so fresh and tasty. For our mains, we had the poached salmon and pork belly. Both dishes were very well prepared. The poached salmon was prepared nicely topped with pickled onions and capers...so flavourful. Their menu may change from time to time so I'm not sure if this dish is a regular menu item. Great views and atmosphere with VERY subpar food. The service seemed a bit frazzled and disorganized too, the waiter kept coming back and saying some things weren't available and not getting the daily special of the day totally right. We tried their: -Duck Confit flatbread (4/5) -10oz beef strip loin (4/5), juicy and tasty -Pan seared salmon (3/5), cook on it was PERFECTION but the fish itself tasted really fish and not very fresh -Lamb saddle (3/5), came with a lamb tagine (kind of like a side dish stew) -Roasted Cauliflower (1.5/5), EXTREMELY spicy (and I can handle my spice) and heavy on the smoky spices. Needs more yogurt and just more balance to the dish. I'd save my money next time and try fine dining elsewhere, but I wouldn't mind coming back to enjoy the atmosphere. read more

Came here for a wedding reception! The atmosphere was cozy and warm. I did not know that this is actually a restaurant until we arrived. I think that this truly sets it apart from other venues I have previously visited. The food comes from the same kitchen and it really made it special when a server came out to ask which dish we wanted. The selection was made at our table as opposed to during our RSVP. I think the added touch of this venue being a restaurant is that you could choose how rare or well done your steak is. This was the first wedding I could order medium steak! We were at Cambridge Mill to celebrate my birthday with my husband. The host was very accommodating in helping us select a table by the window, offering a great view of the river. Small amount of restaurants but the rest was ordered via mobile app as I'm iffy to sit in a restaurant. Anyways, I bring to you Cambridge Mill. I was here years ago with my ex. I wanted to come back an try their Sunday Brunch buffet however, with COVID, it's a Norma brunch menu, no buffet :( For starters we got the Mushroom toast. The toast had wild mushrooms, ricotta, and confit garlic. The toast was too hard for me but the smoothness of the toppings helped the toast be more bearable to chew on. I ordered a Reuben. This consist of a Montreal smoked brisket with white cheddar and pickled cabbage and mustard served with either fries or a salad. I opted for a salad which was dressed with a light vinaigrette. My friend ordered the Duck Confit Benny. Meh told me it is not for him because the duck was too fatty.the fish came with hollandaise sauce and We did also share the banana load French toast. It is served with blueberry compote, whipped cream cheese and candies almonds. The almonds weren't too sweet at all. This was my Favourite dish. Overall, the service was great. The waitress was attentive in ensuring our cups were always full of water. Also really like the complimentary champagne. Highly recommend going to this restaurant read more

I am appalled at the special events staff at this venue. I was in a wedding this past weekend and I have never experienced such negligence. As a former restaurant manager/ event planner, I was horrified at how hands off the entire events staff was at this wedding. I would not recommend this venue to my worst enemy. They have all you can eat Oysters that's great but they have one person opening them and theres a long wait so you wait for 4 and move on because you feel bad for everyone else waiting the wait can be long of oysters. So if oysters are your thing you will be waiting for a while . Go early so you can get fresh food or the end of a roast . If you dont like Oysters or crab legs this place is over priced. read more

Went here for lunch on a Saturday, fairly crowded with a few weddings going on. I'd say you're mostly paying for the beautiful water view and the interior. Our server was friendly and checked in with us however, with a party of 8 it took around an hour for our food to come out, which is pretty long. I ordered the burger ($22) and in my opinion it lacked flavour and the bun didn't go with the rest of the ingredients. Some of the fries were a little too hard as well. I would expect more given the price point. Others at my table got other meals however, their portions were smaller. Overall i'd visit mostly just for the view. read more

I had been to the Cambridge Mill before for a friend's wedding but this review is based on their famous Sunday Brunch. My family came here about 3 weeks ago since we were in Cambridge. I made a reservation about a month before through OpenTable. The ambience was nice with stone walls, cozy fireplace and large windows. Our seats were in a great spot overlooking the water. The food selection was great - something for everyone and a nice arrangement! One buffet area had hot foods like eggs benny, potatoes, back bacon, steak, salmon, pastas to name a few. There was also a juice bar in that same room. Another room had seafood like crab legs and fresh oysters in one corner of the large table arrangement. Fresh scones, croissants and pastries were also in another corner of that second buffet setup. Different types of cheeses, meats and at least 5 types of salad were on another long table in that centre arrangement. There were also desserts such as homemade ice cream (chocolate, vanilla), tarts, cookies, squares and fruit. There were also unlimited mimosas and cesars! I just wish I had room for all of that delicious food and drinks! Prices were good for the quality and selection of food. You can come for 9:30 a.m. to pay $40 and if you come for later seatings, it is $50. Staff were also professional throughout our visit. We will definitely be back for their brunch! read more

Cambridge mill and its surroundings provided a beautiful backdrop to our friend's wedding. The mill is along side the water. Our friends got married in an open chapel that provided a panoramic view of the water on a gorgeous sunny aftermoon. The food was pretty good. Unfortunately I can't speak for the regular dinner menu. But overall the food was fresh and sort of innovative. For instance the dessert was a warm toffee cake topped with goat cheese cream and caramel. Definitely an interesting pairing I've never tried before. Ample parking with a gentleman riding a golf cart offering rides to the entrance. If I had known about cambridge mill when I had gotten married, it would be a top contender. read more

After a wonderful Christmas brunch at the sister restaurant Spencer's at the Waterfront 2 years ago, we tried this restaurant for our anniversary. It looked great on the website and we tried to avoid all the Toronto craziness of TIFF and World Hockey ... I think we made the wrong decision. This restaurant had a gorgeous view and lovely interior ... Sadly that is the only positive. Service left piles of used plates at our table and our coffee unfilled. Most of the hot items and crab leg were empty for upwards to an hour and even if it was filled, the food quality paled in comparison to Spencer's and King Edward. Short summary ... Definitely not worth the $100 we spent and would not be coming back. As mentioned, it's a beautiful view ... If you can get it. It overlooks a lovely large river with some waterfalls. The large windows give a great landscape and backdrop. There's even a separate chapel that is floor to ceiling windows ... Really pretty. The interior is modern but with lots of nice polished wooden surfaces. It's spacious. Sad part is that they asked us what we're celebrating and we told them a milestone event. So we got the table of the parking lot and facing the shoppers drug mart. Meanwhile tables sat empty facing the river ... Thanks for asking why we came to your restaurant? So as for service, obvious miss was the lack of care for celebrating the special occasion after asking us. We maybe got 2 cups of coffee and we had to ask for the 2nd one since the first cup was empty for most the buffet. Our finished plates became stacked at one corner. For a buffet... Especially at a higher end one, my expectation is at least these two. Clearing plates before I return and filling drinks ... Neither were done. As for food ... I can honestly say all of it was disappointing. Most things were left empty and when we were able to have something, it was either soggy, over cooked, or lacking tastes. The crepe station was not freshly made ... Just reheated. Whatever vegetables they did have, mushy and under seasoned. Breakfast items like Benedict had sponges for bread, hard "poached" eggs, and a gel like sauce instead of creamy. Desserts were all mushy ... As if they had too much liquid and not enough cook time. The only thing that was moderately ok was the king crab legs IF it was ever replenished. Salads all were disappointing. Overall for $45 per person before tax and tip, you're heading into Toronto pricing. I would expect good quality to bring in returning patrons. I would say the whole experience was unfortunate. Come for the food, stay for the view! My wife celebrated one of her "birthday milestones" recently and really, really wanted to come here for the Sunday Champagne Brunch... and we couldn't be happier - it wasn't inexpensive but it was worth every penny! To start off with, the food was excellent, with stations for cold salads, hot items, omelettes, seafood, sushi, breads and cheeses, as well as desserts scattered throughout parts of the renovated old mill building. Three free drinks are included with the brunch buffet, including Sparkling wine, Caesars and Mimosas, as well as juices, coffee and tea. The Cambridge Mill has an "Earth-to-Table" food philosophy that puts local food first, and it shows in the delicious food that they prepare. Everything was fresh and tasted great, something I can definitely say does not happen at all buffets! Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the beautiful view... The Landmark Group has done an excellent job of the building itself (which used to be the Riverbank Mill) and the place has a great atmosphere, but it is the great view of the scenic Grand River that runs through historic downtown Galt here in Cambridge that is the perfect complement to a great meal! read more

My husband and I visited Cambridge Mill the Saturday following valentines day, 2014. Their valentines day menu offered the choice between the Bacon and Egg Caesar Salad, or Potato Soup to start. Entrees were the Arctic Char and Chicken from the regular menu or a Beef dish. The dessert was a plate if donuts and ice cream to share. I started with the Bacon and Egg Caesar. The portion size was very large for an appetizer. I was happy that it was not just made of romaine hearts and they included the outer romaine leaves too. The dressing was cream based, but lighter than most Caesar dressings, and the garlic flavour was subtle. The salad was topped with a quail egg, strip of bacon and a paper thin crisp of their olive bread (included in the bread basket for the table). There was more bacon mixed in the rest of the salad. Overall very good and just a bit different than a classic Caesar. I chose the Arctic Char as my main, because the lobster cream sauce in the description sounded amazing. Although I couldn't actually taste any lobster, it was incredibly rich and delicious. The skin on the char was crispy and the flesh was moist and cooked perfectly. Under the fish was a cooked julienne of soft celeriac which soaked up the lobster sauce. The fish was topped with an interesting, dark coloured micro green. A very rich main. Dessert was a plate of hot donuts and ice cream. The small ball of vanilla ice cream was good, as were the donuts, however it was nothing special. A choice of higher end desserts would have been nice, but I can't blame them since the value of this set menu was exceptional. Service and atmosphere made the night! We had a table overlooking the river, but the whole dining room was lovely. It is rustic but still chic. read more

Had an amazing Sunday brunch here. The quality of some of the dishes are a bit hit and miss. I found the eggs benedicts to be disappointing, the lamb was too dry, and if you're going for the crabs, the selection is not great either. But the maple smoked salmon, prime rib, crepe station, salads and the freshly shucked oysters were amazing. I was here for dinner on the Valentine's Day with my husband. The restaurant seemed busy; it was almost full. Some parts of the restaurant such as the fireplace were decorated with red balloons. Upon arrival, there were about four young female staff at the reception desk. One girl confirmed our reservation. Another girl led us into the dining area and showed us our table. We ordered the following drinks and dishes and here is my rating to each: -Clementine non-alcoholic drink from their Valentine's Day menu (4/5) -Mill Apple Cider -Local Cheese Plate (4.5/5): I loved the blue cheese! Brie cheese and chutney were okay. But old cheddar like cheese and oh the blue cheese were great with the toast. -Daily Cut of Murray's Farm Pork (3/5): this dish was disappointing. It was a little too salty for my taste though it was an interesting mix of pork chop, pork belly and pork croquette. -Duck Confit Cassoulet Food did not impress me as much this time compared to my last visit to this restaurant, but the atmosphere was still beautiful (even though the river was partly frozen in the winter) and the service was attentive. read more
