We came here for a family brunch on the Easter weekend and were not disappointed! Buffets for a large crowd can be a very difficult thing; quickly devolving into bad wedding food territory. However, this was definitely not the case at the Cambridge Mill. Everything we had was excellent and fresh. The prime rib at the carving station was an absolute must as was the Mac & Cheese. The omelette bar and crepe stations were also bit hits with our group. The service here was also impeccable. Our server was lovely and prompt despite the large crowd that day. Birthday dinner here for a party of 10. Super fancy decor inside and out. Quite a popular place for weddings apparently. Large parking lot so easy to find a spot. Service was great, Laura was amazing and made sure we were well taken care of. The food is amazing here!! There was a special for the prime rib with mash and greens for $29. It was a Sunday evening. Most of us ordered that and we all enjoyed it. The prime rib was cooked either medium rare or medium. I went for the medium rare and it was amazing. Very juicy and tender. The Cambridge Mill has the best food it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. It's a little expensive but great if you're feeling like splurging and the scenery is beautiful even at night. So there's a few things you should do before going to Cambridge Mill for brunch. 1) Find a designated driver 2) Wear loose elastic gym pants 3) Make sure you can take a long nap in the afternoon. All I can say is, my meal was pure gluttony. Unlimited Casesar's, sparkling wine or mimosa's? All three please! Feeling, a bit sleepy from all the drinks? There's also unlimited coffee and tea. Caesar was fantastic. Sure the mimosa was just Tropicana with some sparkling wine but it was still very tasty. Did I mention that that drinks were unlimited? Food was great. There's the hot section and cold section. The hot section has all the brunch staples, including waffles, a crepe and omelette station, eggs benedict, bacon, and butter chicken. (yes, butter chicken was being served. No naan bread though). Eating tip: get your flambé with spiced rum for extra deliciousness. The cold section had a great selection of raw oysters, crab legs (sliced in half for lazy patrons like me), pesto salad with scallops/fish, cooked salmon, sushi, breads. The sushi tasted odd, but still edible. The dessert selection included a number of cakes (including cheesecakes), chocolate fountain and ice cream. Eating tip #2: After getting your crepe, proceed to the dessert section to add a scoop of ice cream. Other things: we had a table right by the windows overlooking the water. Service was fantastic and he cleared our plates and filled our coffee cups frequently. All in all, a fantastic experience worth the calories. We went here for a wedding this weekend and we thought it was a beautiful venue. The ceremony was in a gorgeous room overlooking the river and the reception was in a separate room which was cozy, comfortable and a little rustic. There were large wooden beams and pillars which felt a little cottage-like. This made the event feel very intimate and I really enjoyed this atmosphere. Not only was this a beautiful location, the food and servcie was exceptional. I have been to a lot of weddings over the years and when beef tenderlion is served it can be hit and miss. The beef was served hot, tender, juicy and flavourful and everyone at the table was completely satisfied. I even asked for mine well done instead of medium rare and it was still perfectly tender. Dessert was wonderful - baked cheesecake served with homemade preserves - delicious! Again, I always find dessert is often so-so at weddings but this was quality, something I would order at a restaurant. The staff here were very friendly and attentive throughout the whole event. Our server worked hard to make sure everyone got what they wanted all evening long - and she did it with patience and humour. Overall, I found this to be an excellent place for a wedding. Wonderful views, comfortable and romantic setting, delicious food, attentive and friendly service as well as ample and convenient parking. We live very close and my wife and I went for a birthday celebration. The place is an awesome facility. They have spend millions of dollars to make it a very impressive building. We sat on the main floor overlooking the river and the view was outstanding. Too bad nobody had dusted the window ledges for 6 months. Dust and grungies just a few feet from where you are eating is not too appetizing. Service was fair. Prices very high. I never mind paying high prices for good food and great service but the great food and service were missing. Soup was 8.00 and was between cool and cold. It obviously had been sitting somewhere waiting to be served because it took forever to get it. In the end it was a big bill for a mediocre meal. We won't be going back. There are lots of other places who have better service and great food for less money read more

Beautiful venue! We came at night and it was very classy. I wished we had come in time for he sunset the scenery would have been absolutely amazing. Even at night you could see the water flowing beside the building. We got a table right in the middle in front of the bar on the main level. Large and grand room. The service was great. Me and my hubby came a bit late and the waitress had reiterated the specials to us. Both of us ordered the featured special which was the prime rib 10oz medium rare. I opted for a cider they have on tap. It was a bit sour than I expected. We had a table of 14 or so, the food all came at the same time. They provided bread for the table while we waited and replenished the basket when it was empty. The portion was huge and a great deal at $28.99. My hubby tried to order rare but they said medium rare is the rarest they cook it at. I couldn't finish my plate. Came with veggies like brocolli mash potatoes and a pastry which tasted similar to the croissant. The name of it slips me at this point but u can see it in the pics. That pastry was actually really good! The prime rib was excellent too! We celebrated a birthday Sunday night so I was glad they were not rushing us to get out. By the end I believe we were the only party left. The bday girl got a complimentary dessert she opted for a creme brûlée which tasted off and grainy. My group of four drove across town at 10:00pm on a Saturday to see this landmark and have a drink in the lounge. We were "greeted" by the hostess, who's first words to us were not "hello" or "welcome" but something like "um, I don't think the bartender is still here" and "my manager is in the bathroom, let me check". Then we were relayed a message by her from the manager (who wouldn't show his or her face) that informed us that they were too busy setting up for Sunday brunch to seat us. Ridiculous. I came here for a business function. The staff was incredibly helpful while we were setting up, as we forgot to order a screen for our presentation, so they went and found their's for us. We had the dining room overlooking the falls to ourselves. A beautiful view. The food was incredible. Highlights include the bread (yes, the FREE BREAD) which was a moist, airy and thick focaccia with rosemary and sea salt flavours. I nearly ruined the rest of my dinner eating this bread. They were very good about my dairy allergy, replacing their certainly creamy risotto with a non-creamy risotto. Also, truffle oil? Wow. The presentation was also fantastic, with beautiful plates (who notices these things? Not me, normally.) The dessert was also dairy-free (if you're like me and can eat butter). Flourless chocolate torte with ice cream, or in my case, raspberry sorbet. I honestly think they need to serve this with raspberry sorbet instead of the vanilla ice cream, as the tartness cuts and complements the creamy richness of the torte perfectly. I was so angry that I ate so much of everything else, as I had to leave a couple of bites left of the dessert. Service was incredibly friendly, quick and knowledgable. I went to The Cambridge Mill restaurant for Sunday brunch a week ago. It was very expensive ($55.00 pp) but for that I expected an outstanding brunch. The crab legs were completely tasteless. The shrimp were coated with a spicy topping but were peel and eat so my fingers were a mess. There were a few salads but only a few. The hot meals were uninspired and the choices limited. I never even saw the crepe bar until I went to the washroom. The desserts were few and again uninspired. The highlight was the homemade ice-cream. The wait staff were attentive and very polite and that's the only reason for 2 instead of one star. A very disappointing meal. Too bad because the view out the window was pleasant. read more

We've been looking forward to try the brunch at the Mills for a while now. My wife had been there once a few years ago and really liked it. We finally went there today. The brunch is all you can eat for $53 per person. They offer a variety of options from warm foods including roast meats, eggs, omelette and crepe bar to salads, oysters and crab legs as well as pastries. They also offer caesar and mimosa as part of the brunch. Although i must say i tried the Caesar and don't think there was any alcohol in it. Overall i thought the quality of the food was for good but I wasn't really blown away and honesty expected a bit more based on my wife's previous experience there. I thought $53 was a bit too much for what they offered. We had a reservation for 12 but we were given a table around 12:20. Other than that the service was excellent and the staff was very nice and attentive. The restaurant is located in a beautiful location by the river and with great views. After a successful day of a day trip to Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake for some bachelorette fun, we ended our night with a fancy diner here at Cambridge Mill. Upon arriving at this restaurant, the parking lot was practically full; I can understand why, the outside of this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and looks like a historic building. There was the grand stairway entrance to the door and as we walked in, we knew we were in someplace classy. We had reservations for 8:30pm for dinner and we were seated after a few minutes. The hostess was kind and took us to our seats and there we were served by our waiter who was left handed (I notice this because I am also left handed) he served us our drinks and gave us a good amount of time to look at our menus to decided. The menu is a bit pricey, but we don't go to these restaurants all too often, so once in a while is fine. I had my heart set on the craft burger, and out of the group of nine of us, six of the girls ordered the bavette steak. It seemed to be a fan favourite. When all the meals came out, the mashed potatoes was served family style, and they all delved in. My burger was absolutely juicy and delicious and I ate the entire thing. It had so much flavour to it it was unbelievable. Some of the girls ordered creme brule for dessert. I didn't get anything, but I had a bite and it was delectable. The view from the back was beautiful. There was a waterfall all around the river. The windows were open and fresh air was flowing through the restaurant. The ambiance was quiet, and a bit romantic. This restaurant also hosts weddings, as there was one upstairs. The washrooms were clean and in pristine condition. If and when I came back to Cambridge with my boyfriend, a nice date night out here would be a wonderful place to come to. All in all, everything was satisfying, the company was wonderful and the service was amazing. read more

Had a wonderful dinner here for Valentine's Day last night! The food was delicious and the service was excellent, especially considering how busy they were. I was impressed right off the bat when we were offered a ride in a golf cart from our car to the entrance. It was much appreciated, especially considering how cold it was! Our server was also very helpful and attentive throughout our meal. She brought us out the softest housemade rosemary and sea salt focaccia before our meal - possibly the best I've ever had. Next I had the pear and parsnip soup to start, which was good. For my main dish I went with our server's recommendation and ordered the squash ravioli with beef cheek, Swiss chard, and Parmesan cream. I HIGHLY recommend this dish! The flavours were absolutely incredible. Although I think the highlight of our dinner was the dark chocolate pâté with vanilla ice cream. It was unbelievably rich, just like any good chocolate dessert should be. My one teensy complaint was that we didn't have a table with a nice view of the river - but with food that good, the views hardly even matter! read more

We had LUNCH reservations right when it opened 11.30am on a Saturday and was told it's best to come early as it's not that busy early so they can arrange a table with view. Was definitely impressed when we got there. View, grounds, venue decor, service - we loved every bit of it. Food was great too. They serve soft warm bread to start, free of charge, so order accordingly if you do eat bread. My only thing is that the cheese in the kids' mac n cheese was a bit too bitter for liking. Four of us had the AYCE Sunday brunch at the Cambridge Mill. The Mill is situated in a very picturesque setting looking beautiful on the outside as well as in. The chairs were comfy and everything was very clean. Our group had a table overlooking the river and I think it must have been one of the best tables in the restaurant! Brunch selection was wonderful - everything from king crab legs (that are already halved for you, so you barely have to use effort to get out the delicious meat), raw oysters, smoked salmon and charcuterie in the cold section, to prime rib, lamb, and made to order eggs and crepes in the hot section. Not to mention the plethora of desserts and the never ending supply of juices, coffee, mimosas and caesars that are included in the price of the meal. The food did not disappoint and service was impeccable. Our server (Quinn) was excellent. Our drinks were never left empty and our napkins were always folded and old plates were quickly whisked away from our table while we were getting more food. The only very small complaint I can think of is that it was rather chilly in our section of the restaurant. This was probably to compensate for the other side of the restaurant where they open the huge windows to give guests a better view of the river and pseudo patio experience while still being inside. Overall, I would highly recommend the Sunday Brunch! At $49/person, it was definitely worth the value. I would not hesitate to come back to try their dinner or lunch! read more

This restaurant is a gem in Cambridge. I found this restaurant in yalp for a Saturday lunch with my friend. I'm on Paleo diet for 2 years and I had always difficulty choosing restaurants becuse of so many limitations. I ordered cob salad without blue cheese. And the greatest surprise - a couple of piece of gluten free bread was served! This was the first restaurant had gluten free bread (no rice, oats or corn in ingredient) in my 2 year Paleo experience!!! Of course the cob salad was very good too. And a wonderful view. I was so happy to found this restaurant. I'll definitely go back. I would love to try Sunday brunch too. read more

The food as always good , however why always the service is so poor . The wine is never in the right quantity we are table of six and at the third bottle they said that is the last one. I don't understand this restaurants. However it is debatable if I will ever come here especially I came for my birthday. Sorry guys but this a thumb down. We loved this restaurant. Recently refurbished, it's definitely 5 . The restaurant overhangs the river - it's almost like being aboard a boat. The food was excellent and Natalie couldn't have provided better service. Unusual to find great food and great location in one place. Prices are very reasonable for both food and drinks. If you are on a tight budget, order burgers or pizza. If you can afford to, splash out on the salmon cakes for a starter, followed by excellent aged steak. Desserts are also great. I thought Fork & Cork in Kitchener had much better food when we went there, but Cambridge was still good. Wait: I got reservations in the morning for that night and requested a window seat. When we arrived, they seemed to have forgotten this so we had to wait for an hour and a half for a window seat while others got placed by the windows. I'd have given them four stars if they'd honored the reservation request. Otherwise, they're great. read more

The Cambridge Mill is rapidly becoming the "spot" for wedding receptions. The building is gorgeous, and the views from inside are unparalleled. After looking at their pictures and reading their menu, we decided to drive from Guelph for lunch midweek. Upon walking into the restaurant, the servers are dressed for fine dining, however most of the patrons were dressed pretty casually. We were seated and our server came for our drink order, and the friendly service was halted when we informed her that we were not ordering alcoholic beverages. We started our meal with the squid and chorizo. The standard approach to calamari in a restaurant is to batter and deep fry it and serve it with some lemon. I appreciate that they tweaked to make it their own. It came to the table in a tagine, which was purely ornamental because if it was cooked it in, it would have maintained its heat longer than it did. The calamari along with the capers were tender, plentiful, and briny. I liked the addition of the chorizo, the only complaint was how quickly the temperature plummeted. We then ordered the bacon and egg caesar with Parmesan, Lemon, Bacon, Garlic Croutons. The salad dressing tasted more like a buttermilk dressing, the garlic flavour was too mild, and it needed more acid. The promise of the egg was very disappointing. They used quail egg which was different however they used only one, and because we split the salad we only had one nibble of egg. We finished with the classic pepperoni pizza with Artisan pepperoni, Mozzarella, Tomato. All of the toppings were delicious, but what destroyed the pizza was its foundation, the crust. It was extremely doughy, and tasted raw. Overall, Cambridge Mill is striving for that fine dining status, but they do not have the food or the service to back it up. read more
