Super disappointed with the service here. After traveling for 13 hours, and while waiting for my next connecting flight, I ordered online for delivery just before 6:00. When the end of the estimated window for delivery came (6:30-6:50), I called and asked the ETA and the person working said that she missed the order because the ringer was off on her ipad and that she would put in the order right away and apologized and all was fine. 20 minutes later (7:10) I realize I never got an estimate on the time, and my flight is going to be leaving within the next couple hours, and it's also been over 13 hours since I've eaten, and I am very hungry and tired. I called and talked to a different associate who quoted me 45 more minutes (putting it to be just before 8). I decided it was best that I cancel the order because of my situation, and he put me on hold and then the first associate had picked up the phone. She got on the phone was arguing that we had come to an agreement and she already apologized and just put everything in the oven, it was just a matter of her broken ipad. I said I know we came to an agreement, but if its gonna be 2 hours after I ordered initially ( for a small pizza, wings, and ravioli), then I need something quicker because it's been 13 hours since I last ate. She asked if I had already placed an order somewhere else or if I was going to, to which I said that I was going to, and she argued that it's just going to take the same amount of time as their place, which I explained there was a food truck outside the airport which would just be better. She said whatever and that at this point I was just wasting her managers supplies and I'd have to cancel it through the app. They still marked the order as delivered, but UberEats support was able to give me my full refund. Fantastic pizza/wings and everything else and SUPER FAST delivery! These folks know how to do it right. Extra crispy wings? They got em. Crispy French fries still hot, fresh, and crisp delivered? Yup, they even know to poke the holes in the top of the container to let put the steam and prevent sogginess. I'm giving this visit five stars all the way around. Let me set this up for you. This particular location of Cal'z Pizza is right outside Naval Base Norfolk. For the most part, business outside the base play to getting money from our military and not always quality of service and product, but this Cal'z makes a liar our of that statement. Went on a Saturday afternoon a day before the Super Bowl. The restaurant is obviously designed for take-out or delivery, it only has one table for din-in. Living on the peninsula, I try to make it point to stop at any Cal'z and get their wings which we will talk about later. But what made this visit so special is the nice young man who waited on us. He is an exception to the rule of quality service. He went way out of his way to make us feel welcomed. He was so nice, professional and knowledgable of the products. We ordered 30 hot wings, fries and a meatball sub. He said about 12 minutes and it was ready right on the money. Service with a smile! He made us feel so honored to be there. Now the food: The wings are unique, I'd say the best in Hampton Roads. This is why I go to Cal'z is for the wings. But the other food was just as good. Served hot and fresh and everything was there. We had a nice portion of fries, the meatball was piping hot like it was fresh out of the over (which it was) and everything tasted GREAT! WHAT AN AWESOME VISIT! Not bad, but not the best, to me anyway. I ordered 2 pieces of pepperoni since I was having a night in to myself, and I got a huge serving (4 slices really). I think it was the last bit of the sliced pizza, so it wasn't really fresh. The flavor is pretty good, but the crust wasn't *quite* done, was a little chewy on top. I'm on travel and gave the restaurant 2 chances. 1st time the buffalo wing bag had the sauce all over everything to include soaking the bag. The gyro has so much cucumber sauce it over powered the gyro and was everywhere. 2nd time since I really don't have many other options for food, same thing with the wings. Hands down you can never go wrong with anything on the menu at any of the Cal'z locations in this area!!!! The wing sauce all the flavors are excellent the hot flavor has this sweet heat type of taste. The cal'zown is filling. They have a pizza called the calzilla that will last you for a few days. The staff in each location (I have visited three of them) are always pleasant and take pride in what they do behind the counter. read more

Delivery wasn't that slow. the boneless wings were dry and hard and the pizza was dry as well. Not enough sauce at all. The pepperoni on my pizza was so dry and crispy like they over cooked them. There's 1 (count them)... ONE booth for seating in this joint. It's not really a dine-in kinda place. Call, order, pick up, pay, go. The wings have never had that soft, fleshy, not-quite-done feel to them, and they're always positively swimming in sauce. The Hot is enough to make your mouth warm and tingly, but if you're crazy, or just on a strict diet and don't want to eat more than 5 wings in a sitting, by all means: try the Suicide. Each order comes with a handful of celery sticks and either Ranch or Bleu Cheese. Our household's favorite appetizer is definitely the battered mushrooms. Ah, so very, very tasty. Great a Wings! Great delivery service to the Navy Lodge. There subs are not good at all. They have very little content and I would call them "sliders" not subs.
